  1. Thanks to this tool: https://github.com/philippbosch/tailwind-swatches I put together a tailwind palette have fun! tailwind.afpalette tailwind-swatches.clr
  2. Right clicking a swatch created on any document palette created after the first one will no longer have the Edit, Rename and Delete menu entries active. See the image below: Steps to reproduce: Create a new document Create a new document palette, name it 1 for easy reference Create a new global swatch, make it spot to enable the Rename Spot menu too Right click the newly created swatch See that you can edit, rename and delete this swatch Create a new document palette, name it 2 for easy reference Create a new spot global swatch Right click this new swatch, notice the disabled menu items Creating further palettes and swatches Notice the problem continues Video guide below: Swtaches menu.mp4 Thanks!
  3. Hello, I am having trouble deleting swatches from the palette I made. I made two document palettes, one for the colors that I color-picked from a reference image and one for colors that I custom-made. The color-picked palette is the one I made first and it works normally. I am able to delete, rename, and edit the swatches in that palette. The custom colors palette does not allow me to do those things though. When I right-click, the options are greyed out and I cannot click on them. I also cannot select a color and press the delete key on my keyboard. Nothing happens when I try it. I'm not sure if this is a bug or something else that is going on. Also, I accidentally made a global color while working on the custom palette and cannot seem to delete that either. Thanks, Alley
  4. Hi guys, I have created a color gradient in a layer fx (see image) - now I want to copy that gradient somehow or ideally make it a swatch/global gradient. But I don't see how. Thanks in advance, Stefan.
  5. It would be nice to delete multiple swatches at once by shift-clicking them and pressing delete. Right now I have to do it one by one and then be asked if I want to really delete the swatch. This is way too tedious.
  6. In other Mac desktop apps, moving colors around is a simple matter of drag and drop. When I want to use a color in Publisher that I've defined in another application (for example in Color Slurp), I expected to be able to drag the color swatch (a macOS term) from Color Slurp into the Color palette and just drop it on the circle showing the foregound color of the selected object. Unfortunately, this doesn't work. I also have not had success dragging into the Swatches palette, or into the "Fill" and "Stroke" color wells in the toolbar. None of the color picker options in the popup button of the Color tab of the popover which opens when you click these color wells accept drags either. The only way I've found to reliably import a color is to copy its RGB hex value, open the popover from the color well, select "RGB Hex Sliders" and paste the 6-character hex code into the # box. This is super cumbersome. 😞 Is there a way to drag and drop colors from other apps that I'm missing? If not, is there some simpler way to import a color from a color well elsewhere in macOS?
  7. I'm listing this as a Designer bug, but it happens in all 3 apps. How to trigger: Open/show the Swatches panel On the panel dropdown menu select "Add Global Colour" Once the dialog box opens, press the Tab key on once your keyboard The colour mode dropdown should be selected Press up (or down) key on your keyboard Instead of the next colour mode, the list separator is selected as shown in the image below This only works until you select a colour mode on that drop list with your mouse. Once you activate this drop list with your mouse, the bug can no longer be triggered until you close (and reopen) this dialog box. Thanks!
  8. Honor Spot Colors in the export options seems to be not working with the Pantone swatch. How do I export a Pantone color to PDF?
  9. I have large images with pixel shapes (representing cells) and each cell type has a certain colour (6 in total, plus black background). I need to rapidly colour-test different colours to find the best combination for visibility. I have not been able to find a solution anywhere, as most such approaches are about defining a recognisable shape and then altering colours - this is about changing many 'cells' across a large image in one go. Thanks
  10. Hi, I am having an issue where any colour I select with the eyedropper tool or when I select a colour in any swatch, the colour that is applied will be a grey. I cannot get any colour to be applied with any tool. Selecting any colour (such as blue /red etc) will result in an equivalent shade of grey being selected. I cannot work out what I have done to make this happen! Please Help! Charles
  11. Want to use a vector brush? Want to use a specific color with your vector brush? Want to use a specific color that you carefully created and saved to your Swatches library? Too bad! Please add the ability to choose swatches within the color menus of the vector brush and pencil tools. Thanks!
  12. When working with gradients you may wish to save one of the colors as a swatch but there are quite a few steps to do to make this happen, and doing so will affect the current gradient scheme ie. its object. I explain further below. My suggestion is to add the Swatch Add button to the Node of the gradient, which saves you all the steps explained further below. Now I will explain how taking the extra steps to add this color to a palette changes the current gradient scheme. 1. To best explain, I begin with showing the previous color in the gradient scheme so you can see the full workflow. 2. I will now alter the color. You will see that the color picker in the HSL popup is the previous color. To make the color picker the new color, I can either drag the color picker to the Node in the gradient scheme, OR I close and reopen the HSL popup (which is faster). 3. After closing and reopening the HSL popup, the color picker is now my desired color to save to a palette. Now that the color picker has been changed.... 4. The swatches panel shows the color picker has the new color, but the current gradient scheme will be changed as soon as I click the color picker. 5. I click the color picker, and the gradient has changed which allows me to proceed to saving the swatch, but the current object color is also changed. This workflow greatly reduces the ability to both experiment with colors in a gradient by impeding my ability to develop a set of preferred color in swatches palette. • It forces me to save a gradient prior to saving a node color. • It forces me to think whether I should finalize my gradient scheme so I'm not creating unwanted swatches in my color palette. • It abruptly changes the color of my object in the process of saving a desired color in the gradient scheme. • It stifles creative development as I may encounter other experimentation phases with other objects and not seek to go through all the steps to save a color node as a swatch. thank you
  13. I choose to see a Pantone colour as CMYK sliders and the spectrum box became huge. At the same time, the swatch panel misbehave, and I couldn't add any colour/gradient to it.
  14. When I open Designer next time, swatch goes back to grey.
  15. Is there a way to click on an object within your artwork and have the swatches palette show you which color is actively selected? I want to build out a colors list and then know which color I’m working with when I select an object I’ve added to my artwork. I use a collection of Montana spray paints and need to know which colors to buy after I’ve designed the artwork.
  16. Just answered a post and considered a few additions to the swatches panel. When right-clicking on a colour fill swatch you have the option to Make Global effectively changing a fill colour to a global colour, but, once a colour has been converted to a global colour, that global colour should have its own context menu that would include... Make Global Spot Make Global Overprint Revert Global (this would revert the colour swatch back to a global fill that can be used to change colours within a document en masse)
  17. Hi, It's really usefull to use tints with global colours, but we miss the ability to add those tints to the swatches' palette. For now we need to use again the tint panel and choose a percentage, or copy-paste the style to have the same tint. If we add tints for a global colour from the menu, those tints aren't global, and aren't linked to the original colour: if we modify the global colour, the tints won't change accordingly.
  18. We can modify a global colour from the tint panel, but this way, the swatch color match the tint percentage instead of the 100% new global colour.
  19. Hey guys, I want to toggle between gray scale values up and down, eg in 5% increments or down without having to click on the swatches panel. It would allow for full screen painting/drawing while hiding the studio. Curious is anyone knows if this is possible. Thank you! Tobias
  20. Hi, is there a way to change a swatch color and propagate that change back to all the objects using this swatch? It is possible in Illustrator and makes color style changes fast and easy. I know there's symbols but that's not the same...Quick description in detail what I want to do: 1) Create a swatch palette, create a swatch 2) Make several shapes and color them by selecting a swatch 3) Change the color of the swatch (how?) 4) All objects with that swatch change color. Cheers!
  21. Hello DEVs First off, thanks again for great software, I've been sending ~250 portraits through it since I bought it, and I love how the application just simply replaced Photoshop Over to my "needs".. I really need some features from PS days, and I hope you guys see why. "Apply Image" in Affinity Photo is not alike PS CC's version of it. I used to use this often to grab an RGB, R, G or B. CMYK or C, M, Y, K or even LAB L, A or B from a layer, a document or a file on the disk, then "apply" it as a mask - inverted or not - on to the selected mask, usually in normal or luminosity mode. I even use it for blending K channel from a dublicate CMYK document in to actual documents RGB composite to enhance faint details which is almost lost. I also use it to mix one of the RGB channels from same document in to the worst channel to enhance the details and remove noise (usually B channel), its called luminosity blending, check out Lee Varis and Dan Margulis photoshop videos. I don't see this is possible in Affinity Photo with the current "apply image", and I wish I had the same blending options in it like default layers so it will be easy to fix a "bad" channel in a image Check video below in this post. I also wish I could set one of the info readouts to a default readout, LAB for example, because I use this more often than RGB or anything else. Left side could be document format. I can change to LAB right now, but it doesnt stick to next image. I love to be able to save my own defaults than white and gra. Every single time I use this I have to go and manually set left one to black and right to white anyway because I rarly use this on other things than masks. It is really annoying After pushing through those 250 portraits since I bought Affinity, I'm really getting tired to recheck "current and below", I never retouch on background or main pixel layers and wouldn't suggest anyone to do it either. Make a new layer then use the healing brush with "current and below" is the safest way to use it anyway, so could it be possible to have persistent settings on these as-well? Check next 5 minutes to see what I mean of luminosity blending: Thats all for now Best regards, Aleksander
  22. I am using v1.7.0.192 on mac and it has added a bunch of same colors into the swatch. I cannot delete these colors. What to do? I do not want to delete the entire pallet, just a few colors.
  23. In the list view of the swatches pane any new swatch gets an auto-name with its defined values. Unfortunately these names don't auto-change when the color definition got changed by the user. This results in wrong swatch names, both for global and non-global swatches. To avoid wrong names the user has to rename any swatch manually after changing its color. To fix the name it needs several clicks to the manual renaming option window. Suggestions: – auto-change a swatch name when its color definition got changed – enable renaming on double-click the swatch name p.s.: in the actual renaming option window a hint appears: "This is not an undoable operation." – Why does it warn me that I can undo this operation?
  24. Hi I was wondering if there was any consideration of including object level overprint selection in the near future? I recently had to do some tricky overprint settings for a packaging project, and in the end I had to make copies of pantone colors one overprinted the other not and then apply the colors to the objects as requited.. unlike illustrator where you can set all the elements to the spot color then just apply overprint to the relevant elements, I hope that made sense. Cheers
  25. It would be cool to have certain user settings (mainly custom color palettes & swatches) sync between the entire Affinity suite once released. It would save me hours in duplicating colors in each application ;)
