  1. I recently bought a Surface Pro with the intent of using it for design work. I know that Serif recently released Affinity Designer on the Windows Store, but I still had an extra machine on my license, and the only way to obtain the Windows Store version was to buy it all over again. So I just downloaded the PC version from Serif's site and plugged my code in. I've been trying and trying and I can't quite adapt to Designer on a touchscreen, like I did easily with Clip Studio Paint's Surface interface. If there are any undo/redo, zoom, etc gestures, I can't find them. I can't tell if there are settings within Designer I can't find that will make for an easier Tablet Mode experience, or if I've yet to properly optimize my device itself for art/design work (I hear people talk about using plug-ins that make the Surface Pen's button deploy a radial menu, but I've had no luck finding anything specific). Or did I mess up downloading (and applying my license to) the version downloaded from the website; is it only the Windows Store version that's touchscreen-friendly?
  2. Hello, I searched prior posts but didn't see anything similar to my question / issue and apologize if a Forum Guru is about to point me to a pre-existing thread. When working in Affinity Designer on the Surface Pro (specs below) I experience significant CPU spikes when working with the Surface Pen. For example, if I create a square shape and use the track-pad or any Bluetooth mouse to resize the shape I see very little change to the amount of CPU required to perform the tast. Similarly, if I resize the shape using my finger via touchscreen... very little CPU require. However, if I perform the same task using the Surface Pen (both when connected via BT and not) the CPU spikes and runs close to 100%. I confirmed that it's Affinity Designer that is requiring the CPU and not a Microsoft process / pen tool feature. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm worried about overheating due to utilizing the Surface Pen in AD. Computer Specs: Surface Pro 6th Gen SSD 512MB 16GB RAM i7-8650U Intel UHD Graphics 620
  3. It has been pointed out numerous times since this was released for Windows 10.... they have not added use of the button on the pen. It makes using the device as often intended (in tablet) impossible for many features like clone. I'm glad they could make sure to have this working for the iPad Pro, but a year later we are still begging for this to be fixed. This is embarrassing.
  4. I know several of the staff at Serif are using the Surface Pro 4 tablet. I am looking to buy either the I5 or I7 model with 8 GB Ram having just returned the Wacom Mobilestudio Pro 13 that I bought before Christmas. For use with Affinity Photo, is there a noticeable performance difference between the I5 and I7 when using Affinity Photo with multilayered files. Some of my Photoshop PSD files are over 1 GB in size Many thanks
  5. I just installed Designer on a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 10 and am unable to use pressure sensitive brushes when using the Surface pen. I selected a solid brush with pressure and opacity from the Assorted draw, and set a Pressure profile in Strokes. Is there some other setting I've missed?
