  1. Working a lot with Moho Pro I saw myself rebuilding scenes I designed in Affinity Designer or Photo with exported images in Moho again. I never have to do that when using Spine to animate as Affinity has this great Spine JSON batch exporter in the Export Persona. So I was missing that when working in Moho. Until now; I've developed a free plugin script for Moho which let's Moho import all layers and exported cropped images from Affinity Photo and/or Designer via the exported spine.json file! For who is using both Spine and Moho, like me, it is even quite far in importing the setup pose with all images as exported from Spine too. Including all transformations of the images and even tinting of images. There are some limitations when importing spine.json files coming from Spine tho (see mohoscripts page for the script), like images which use meshes aren't supported. But the most important features are supported already! [update] Also when the spine.json file has bone data (like files exported from Spine itself, or when using special layer naming in Krita's exporter), the skeleton will be recreated in Moho during import since v1.1.0! But the main reason for making this was to import layers from Affinity tho. And that all works great now! A real time saver. It also works for Krita, Photoshop, After Effects, Gimp etc. when you install an existing export to spine.json script in Krita. The script is free to download. Downloadlink and more information is here: https://mohoscripts.com/script/wp_spine_import And here are some demo's/tutorial videos I just created. Have fun!
  2. Sometimes, eventhough Spine is selected as Batch builder, no spine.json file is created when exporting slices. I have to watch more closely when exactly this happens, but I'm pretty sure this is what happens: - Have a file, create slices, select Spine batch export and export the slices (spine.json gets created just fine) - Keep Affinity open and start creating a new file, create slices and go to the slices tab in the export persona: now 'Spine' is still selected as batch exporter, but it doesn't use this batch exporter when exporting the slices. It only seems to work if we manually set/refresh the batch export selection by moving to another setting in the dropdown first and than re-select Spine in the dropdown again. So it looks like the batch export method is set to 'none' when creating a new file, but the UI for it wasn't updated, so it still shows 'Spine' while in reality it's set to 'none'. This is obviously confusing and prone to errors.
  3. I am putting a 600 page book together in Publisher but making the cover in Designer. The book is facing pages - What is the best spine calculator for this? I know it has to do with the thickness of the paper as well. Any thoughts would appreciated.
  4. From what I can see, there isn't currently an inbuilt way to build a book cover in publisher? I've completed all of the content of my book, but now need to work out how create the cover in a way that could be adjusted if required. Is the easiest approach to duplicate a master, then change the dimensions to allow for the spine in the centre, adjusting the margins location and design from there?
  5. The much improved and more feature rich Paragraph Style in AP is great, but I would like the Affinity Publisher Team to consider to also add: Towards Spine and Away from Spine to the Alignment attributes in the Paragraph Style Editor. This is extremely useful in publications that need to mirror information on facing pages, particularly in annuals like calendars, etc.
  6. Hi I didn't know where to put that request and I think there was some similar requests on the forum... But I wanted to be sure and make a little precision. Considering that there is a lot of people that want to use Affinity Designer or Affinity Photo as a professional tool, to me it is Affinity Designer, for Digital Drawing, Graphic Design, UX/UI... and certainly motion design & 2D animation. But considering that one of the most important tool is After Effects and that it is really hard to work with AD to AE, because it doesn't import SVG, you can't import EPS with transparency and gradient into AE, actually you can with PDF, but when you convert to layer to work with all your different layers everything disappear. What I am trying to say is AD and AE don't work really well together. So I was wondering, actually almost begging Serif/Affinity to develop some kind of a motion and animation... and why not parallax effects tool. Not one as complex as AE, we don't need everything. Like a light version of AE with only motion features, animation tools, maybe something like Spine (http://fr.esotericsoftware.com/), a light version as well; imagine an animation tool that got like 2-3 personas like motion; skeletal animation; parallax and that is able to export to tools like Unity, export PNGs animation, Sprite sheet; mp4 and mov. It could be amazing! Thanks for reading me even if it doesn't get done.
  7. Hello, i am exporting slices out of Affinity Photo with - batch builder- spine json - it exports the 26 layers and 1 json file correctly. When in Spine i go yo - Import data - i choose the json file but i get an error message "an error ocurred when importing the skeleton. Please be sure to choose a valid skeleton json or binary file. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks for your help
