  1. I would like to open some ARW-Files from my Sony Alpha 7 IV in Affinity Photo 2 (2.2.1 on macOS 14.1). But 20% from the foto series, only shows a black picture after opening in Affinity Photo. The "black-files" can be opened normal in macOS Preview and in Photos. Is there a way or a workaround to open these ARW-Files? The only indicator ore differenc betwene thes files are the size. The corrupted RAWs are bigger (71-96 MB) than the working ones (39-42 MB). Black_A7400091.ARW Black_A7400100.ARW OK_A7400001.ARW OK_A7400024.ARW
  2. Hi there, Affinity photo 2 is for some reason is not handeling the RAW "lossless comp" files properly. It seems that the lens correction is inverted and it makes blackbars around the image. When I use a compressed RAW image it is working properly. I tried resetting settings affinity photo 2 (no changes) Opend in ACDSee working properly Opend in Sony Imaging Edge working properly Opend in Windows photo working properly Test raw images added and jpegs all directly from the camera Specs: Camera: Sony A6700 All lenses when RAW compression setting is in "lossless comp" PC: Windows 11 32 gb ram Nvidea geforce RTX 4090 Affinity photo 2.2.1.2075 DSC02821 compressed.ARW DSC02822 lossless comp.ARW
  3. I just got the a7iv recently and for every single photo I uploaded was distorted, cropped and just blown out looking when importing to Affinity photo. I have been looking heavily on the internet and have not found similar problems. I have my camera set to RAW. .ARW is Sonys format. All help would be appreciated. On my camera the photos look fine and in photos it looks fine as long as I don't import them. If I import the photos they just turn out grey as shown in the pictures.
  4. I use usb cable to import my R+J from my Sony A7C to my ipad(15.3.1) photo library, then use import function in affinity (1.10.3.267). The EXIF exist in photo library but after import to affinity they are gone. In following conditions the EXIF can be found in affinity. The EXIF will be preserved if I shoot in raw only and follow the same import procedure. The EXIF will be preserved if I import the individual raw from Files even I shot in R+J. Did I do something wrong? Or is it just apple doing apple thing, because I noticed the EXIF in photo library tagged as JPEG. Btw I tried to attach the R+J photo in here from my iPad photo library but judge by the size, it will only upload the JPEG part of it. Thank you.
  5. Hi, First of all thanks for this new software. I'm a die-hard Photoshop user, since version 2(not CS2). Now I'm a sony shooter. I noticed that I cannot open the sony raw files(.ARW) with this beta version. Please include it when developing the develop module. With Sony's mirrorless(the A7 series) impact to the market, there's a growing number of Sony shooters now. I myself switched from Canon 5D Mark III to Sony A7R. thank you.
  6. Como podemos exportar nuestros archivos raw ya revelados de los software oficiales de Sony, Olympus, Canon, Nikon, o recomendado como CaptureOne Express para Fujifilm y Sony a Affinity Photo para continuar editando las imágenes. Saludos
  7. Opening a Sony a7 iii uncompressed RAW file just gives a black screen. I can only find a list from 2016 of cameras you support. Is there an updated list, and when might this camera get on it? Thanks
  8. Do you plan to support Sony arw raw format from Sony RX100 VII in near future? Thanks forma short note! Norbert
  9. Does Affinity Photo for iPad/iOS support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? Also, does Affinity Photo for Mac and Windows support Sony Pixel Shift ARQ files? If this Compatibility does not currently exist, will support be added in a future release for each platform? If so, is there a Date this ARQ functionality will be made available? Thanks for your time.
  10. Hello Could you please add the possibility to recognise the star rating of pictures taken and rated with Sony cameras (like the new Sony a7rIII / ILCE-7RM3)? Please view quotes and links below to see which rating function I am referring to: Source for 1st quote: https://www.trustedreviews.com/reviews/sony-a7r-iii Source for 2nd quote: https://www.colbybrownphotography.com/getting-the-most-out-of-your-sony-a7r-iii/ Here you can see the camera rating function works (play the video at 19'54''): (on YouTube.com, it is the video "Sony a7R III Training Tutorial" "by Tony & Chelsea Northrup) Please tell if this will be added to the features requested list and when you will be implementing it. Thank you! Miss C
  11. Hi! I'm running Affinity Photo on Windows 7 x64. There is a problem with the ARW files of Sony A65 and A77M2. Sigma 10-20 f3,5-5,6 lens is not correctly recognized and Tamron 17-50 f2,8 is not recognized at all, therefore automatic lens correction does not work. As an alternative, I've tried using a dedicated PTLens program to correct lens distortion as a plugin, but it doesn't start and Affinity Photo spontaneously shuts down. At the same time PTLens works correctly in Adobe PhotoShop and Corel PaintShop Pro.
  12. Hi, I currently don't do any processing on the move - using just my Mac desktop at home. I have an iPad Pro and am exploring my options to get things done whilst out and about doing shoots. My query is about my potential workflow, and if Affinity Photo can help. I currently use all Adobe apps on my desktop, but a quick look at Lightroom on the iPad doesn't seem to provide what I am looking for. I'm a real estate photographer, and I outsource my processing due to the volume of work required. But I often get gaps in my schedule when on the road, which could help me to get my photos to the editors quicker (then waiting until I get home). I'm using Sony A7R III (with an A7 III as a backup). All I need to be able to do is: 1) Get the Sony RAW files from my SD card onto the iPad. I understand a lightning SD reader will be needed for that. 2) Then to review the images, and possibly on some of them scale/crop to get the best of the shot. No actual processing of colours, etc. 3) Then save/export them as DNG files onto a cloud platform (whether it be OneDrive, iCloud, Dropbox, whatever). Then I can email my Editors the location of the files to pick up for processing. I can't give them JPGs because they need to do the actual processing. DNGs end up much smaller filesizes than Sony RAW which means easier uploading too. And they are more universally recognized (the editors don't want to work with specific raw formats like Sony) Right now I have to wait until I get home from a day of shooting and do the above with Lightroom on my Mac. I'd love to be able to do this between shoots on the road, on the iPad. However, none of the apps I have looked into seem to be able to export this way. It's either save back to the original RAW format - or convert to a final non-raw format such as JPG. As I can't trial Affinity on iPad - and it's the key feature I would need - I thought I would ask here before buying. Is this going to be possible? Many thanks Simon
  13. Hi I have ordered a Sony A7 111. Will Affinity Photo support these file types yet?
  14. Recent threads such as this one by @Gregory St. Laurent have commented on the default image when a raw is loaded into the Develop Persona being too dark (or too light or ...) as compared with other programs. My experience, with my rather old Sony A55 camera, is that the default image in the Develop Persona is fine in 95% of the time, and that any tweaking needed is done in the Photo Persona. The odd 5% are those images taken under odd lighting conditions, but even with these, I will typically bracket the shots and merge in HDR. I would be interested to hear from other uses of Sony cameras (old and new). Have you had these problems that are described elsewhere? If not, then it would seem that the default develop algorithm for ARW files is closer to what is expected as compared with CR2 or NEF files. John
  15. Hey everybody, I'm using Affinity for more than 6 months now, and loving or do much thanks you ! I'm now thinking about buying a full frame camera! Sony seems to be a interesting choice now! I'm seeing that Sony have two really similar cameras : A7RII and A7RIII ! The difference ? Mainly one, the new "pixel shift mode" on the A7RIII, which is quite impressive, but I'm not sure it's justificating the 1000 $ difference. What's pixel shift ? Well, as I understood, it's a mode alowing you taking 4 pictures (same pics, with tripode), and combining them into one way sharper, more details ! Well, I feel that, maybe, I could but the A7RII and make my own pixel shift via affinity ! But would it work ? How would you make it work ? Would the developers need to add a new feature to make it work ? Pixel shift is a really interesting mode, it would be so amazing if we could have the posibility to create it via the software And it would make me save 1000 $ Please help Thanks Regards, Ken.
  16. Hi, Can really do with some help here. Just got a Sony A7R3 not too long back. I use Mac Photos for my photo management. From Photos, I tried to edit my .ARW raw files using Affinity. However, when the file's opened in Affinity, it is converted to TIFF. When I export the RAW file out and open it directly with Affinity, it opens as RAW. Not sure if it's a bug, or I have some settings done wrongly. I had no problems with my previous camera, OMD-EM1. Thanks!
  17. About 4-hours-work, I think this is the best vector product pic I have ever draw.
  18. Hi Just to let all proud owners of the Sony RX10 MK4 that its RAW format is supported by iOS in 11.2.5 public beta 2 and images display in Affinity Photo beautifully E3B23E34-B433-46E1-A5A3-A4969A817569.tiff
  19. Hi, when will you add denoise support for the Sony A6500 camera raw format (ARW)? I can open the raw files in version 1.5.2.69 but noise reduction does not work no matter what I try. Please help!
  20. I'm having some trouble loading Sony a9 RAW files into the Affinity iPad app. Are there certain RAW files the app doesn't support? When I try and load the photo from the Photos app Affinity give the images info(name of camera, focal length, f stop, shutter speed..) but the work space in blank. I'm new to the app so I may just be missing something. Thanks for you help.
  21. Affinity Photo will not display thumbnails of Sony ARW files when using Focus Merge. I'd like to see the thumbnails so as to determine which batch of files to select and use with Focus Merge. I'm on a Mac and Cover Flow view would help me do this. I cannot use Cover Flow to select the files because Affinity is not generating thumbnails......
  22. Hello Guys, A short introduction of myself as it is my first post here. I life in germany and i am not a retouching or photography professional. I just do photography as a hobby and I am waiting for affinity photo (AP) for Windows since they announced the beta. Today I am using an old version of Adobe Photoshop Elements for retouching and Capture One 9 Pro (CO9) for Sony as my RAW Converter. You can easily edit your Image in Affinity Photo out of your Capture One Viewer To edit a Image from CO9 first go to your Windows explorer. Right-click on a jpeg File, open with. Choose other app and search your AP folder. You should do this with a jpeg and a tiff document. To edit a Image from CO9 in AP right click on the Picture in CO9 and choose edit with. In the following window click on Open with and browse to you AP folder. AP will start. Make your Changes in AP and Save the file. Only save not save as. Back ip CO9 right click on the image and regenerate Preview. Now you should see your retouched image. If you don’t want to browse to your AP folder every time you want to use AP from CO9 the first step in windows explorer is necessary, otherwise CO9 can’t save the settings. I have testet jpg and tif. Both works fine in this combination. I hope this will help someone. I have the german versions of all programs installed, so I hope i have translated all step to the english version of CO9 or Windows correctly. This was tested with Capture One 9.3.0.85 and affinity photo 1.5.0.37. greetings GermanDennis
  23. Out of the blue, RAW images are no longer opening the file color – completely screws to pink, purple hues. I've deleted and reinstalled the app on my computer and also cleared/reset the software – problem still persists. General Stats on my environment: macOS Sierra Version 10.12.1 (16B2657) Sony A7R II firmware 3.30 Image file .ARW Any idea why this is happening and how to fix it?
  24. Shooting raw with the sony a7ii. If i import the file into the app it turns purple and is barely recognizable let alone editable.
