  1. Hi! Is there anyway I can save a custom page preset as a template? For example, Facebook Page Cover template, Instagram Post template, Business Cards template, etc. with different sizes for each template. I'm currently using Affinity Designer desktop. I've tried to find answers and had no luck. Did find this but it did not have the solution: Please let me know - this would be such a huge help!
  2. Using trial of the latest version of Affinity Designer on Windows 10. When saving I get the attached message. Same message when I save as. After quitting and re-opening, Affinity does not recognise the document. After restarting the computer, Affinity does successfully open the document. Definitely a dealbreaker.
  3. I'm pretty sure there are other requests for this, but being able to save window arrangements/layouts into custom workspaces is a pretty essential feature. I use Photoshop and Illustrator, but will sometimes use Affinity Designer and Photo for fun. My Illustrator is CS6, so I'll often use Designer to at least convert my AI vector to a more modern/stable copy or just design it in Designer if I don't need to use the Illustrator features I'm use to using. Having to rearrange my windows every time or make due with the default layout everytime I switch to an Affinity program is extremely cumbersome. On the whole, I love the programs Serif Labs have put out and think they're extremely functional and promising. It's fun and exciting to see how they're progressing and I hope they continue developing like they've been doing
  4. Where are the icons for copy, paste and save please? I would like them on the top left of my screen instead of having to use CTRL C, CTRL V and CTRL S. These is a normal windows icons and whilst I love keyboard shortcuts sometimes it is faster to use icons when working with pictures using my mouse, Many thanks in advance, Marilyn
  5. Hi, Have a reproducible hang here for you - Affinity becomes unresponsive forcing a Force Quit when you do this... 1. Save As... 2. In the Finder dialog (List View) right click a file and select 'Rename...' 3. Hit Enter 4. Affinity cries 5. Well, it doesn't actually cry, it just does nothing, and continues doing nothing, whatever you do. Thanks Wayne
  6. Halp please I have never been able to find where my affinity documents have been saved to, and so have always relied upon the 'recent files' with fingers crossed- but now I can't find any of them at all. I can't even begin to think of all the work and business branding I would have lost if this is not resolved... Any suggestions as to where on a mac they disappear to? Nothing has ever saved to the affinity iCloud so not there.
  7. I just purchased and downloaded Affinity Designer last night. I attempted to open a .ai file with it, and was met with an error regarding permissions. I also tried to save an Affinity project (.afdesigner), which was met with a permissions error as well. The error reads: I am only able to read/save files in my newly created Affinity Designer iCloud storage, which is not the workflow I will be adopting. Before anyone flags this as a duplicate or writes this off, know that I have: Tried saving to/reading from multiple directories within my home directory, not limited to my Documents folder. (eg: ` ~/`, `~/Pictures`, `~/Downloads`) Used CleanMyMac3 to repair my disk permissions (multiple times) Manually reset permissions on my home folder recursively to all subdirectories and files (Right click > get info > Permissions & Sharing) Manually reset permissions on my home folder via terminal Ran First Aid via Disk Utility Restarted my computer (between each step) Cleared Affinity Designer's data by holding down Ctrl while booting Uninstalled and re-installed Affinity Designer I've read that this is related to Apple's sandboxing. Regardless, it seems insane that the program can't interface with my hard drive. My email client, writing apps, and video games downloaded from the app store can, without any issues ever. Why can't Affinity? Also, if this is an App Store issue that is reoccuring, why not make a standalone version... I'd prefer that anyway.... Double bummer because I was so thrilled to be replacing Illustrator with an allegedly superior project at the cost of only $50. Hoping someone can help me.
  8. Hola, En la versión 1.6.5, da problemas al guardar, se queda bloqueado. No es siempre, solo quería informar. Felicidades por la plataforma. Hello, In version 1.6.5, it gives problems when saving, it stays blocked. It's not always, I just wanted to inform. Congratulations on the platform.
  9. I really like the focus merge functionality of Affinity Photo but it lacks one essential feature: Saving the current state in order continue later. Currently the sources window that lets you manually blend the different sources (and thus correct ghosts introduced during the focus merging process) disappears if the program is closed. I know I can re-add the sources after loading the file but this is not nearly as intuitive and exact as the dedicated "focus merge mode". To me that's a major drawback as focus merging can be very time consuming work which takes hours. What if I need to take a break and want to continue later? Currently I have to leave Affinity Photo open and hope that the program does not crash while taking a break. What if the program crashes during the process? What if accidentally remove the sources (silly but things like this happen)? Please add either a possibility to save the document and reopen it later with the dedicated "focus merge mode" still active meaning the sources still present in the sources window and the clone tool still working without having to select a source point. Or, even better, give us the possibility to switch the "focus merge mode" on and off at will. This would be a major improvement. By the way: I don't use the HDR merge functionality but I guess that it's ghost removal tool works the same way as the ghost removal in focus merge. It would be great if you could implement the same functionality there too.
  10. Unfortunately, there is no "function" to save the studio. (If so, please prove me wrong). That does not mean you can't save it manually, and even keep multiple versions of it to suit your different workspaces. As a bonus or drawback, some of your preferences will also be saved or recalled by the same process. To save your Studio configuration (MAC) The following allows you to keep a safe copy of your studio configuration, including the Toolbar and other preferences (I did not know which ones at this point) Quit Affinity Designer From the finder top drop-down menu, select GO and press [option] — [shift] or [^control] on some systems. A new item called Library should appear in the menu. Click it. Navigate to this location : Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserNameHere/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner.beta/Data/Library/Preferences Copy the file com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to a safe location of your choice. I recommend a cloud base storage, so you can get it back on a new or different system at anytimel. Go back to work with peace of mind, your Studio configuration is now safe. To recall the Studio If the studio go astray, or the toolbar plays hide and seek on you: Quit Affinity Designer Copy back com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to its original location (From where you saved it above) — Replace the existing files Note that the studio will come back the exact same way you had it at the time you copied the file for the first time. Changes you made between the two procedures will be lost. Forever. I have not tested it yet, but I'm sure that some other preference settings will be affected as well, I just don't know to what extent. Multiple Studios: You can make multiple Studio arrangements and save them independently. Just copy com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to different locations. Be sure to label them properly, so you remember what they are. Very useful on a laptop that uses an external monitor that is not always connected. If you're comfortable with MacOS Automator, you can even create series of app/scripts to save or restore your Studio configuration(s) automatically. Not the smoothest process and I wish there was a prebuilt function for that… But until it does, or someone proves me wrong, it's a workaround. Enjoy!
  11. Hi, When I try to save a file I work on but the original location is no longer available, the file is being forcibly closed without being saved. This happens on every occasion where a location might disappear, like removable drives, disconnected partitions, network drives, etc. It would be much more adequate to offer a save as dialog instead, or at least keep the file open. Thanks! Greetings, Martin
  12. Hey guys, After I export to PNG for example, even if I don't make any modifications to the document, I am being asked if I want to save changes. This bug is found in the new beta (.99), the previous beta didn't seem to have thi issue. Cheers, Chris
  13. The title pretty much summarizes it. Saving a liquify mesh is completely broken. Either it saves nothing (tried both local, and to iCloud), or it freezes with a completely white screen, and the only recourse is to kill Photo and restart, losing the work. Additionally, regardless of the location you save to, the message *always* says "Saving to iCloud".
  14. Why iPad version of Affinity saves any project in it self instead of icloud drive affinity folder, i guess the ipad version should link it main screen to affiniy photo folder in icloud file app, if i update from ipad i cam use same on mac, but in this case i have to export project to icloud drive in order to use it on mac, and if i forget to export then i cant open that project on mac, same as if i export that project in icloud and edit it on mac then i want to do something on ipad with same file then ill have to open from icloud and that copies to ipad version but not updating the icloud version, with this practice the more i import the more copies ill get on ipad version, which is quiet waste of space.
  15. I just purchased Affinity Photo for Windows, and I have a problem. I open a Canon RAW image (freshly downloaded from my camera) and make some adjustment, then Develop it. Once that is done, I try to export it into JPEG. If you look at the screenshot (attached) I keep getting a "File Not Found" error message. What am I doing wrong in trying to convert my RAW image into a JPEG using AP? Untitled document.pdf
  16. In Photos, when I click open with Affinity and then edit photo, it doesn't save the photo with edits back to Photos. How do I return my edited photo back to Photos?
  17. I have just acquired an IPad Pro and have hoped to use this as my primary editing device. As most of what I do is along the lines of "Street" there is little that Affinity Photo cannot achieve on the IPad app. That said, I shoot in RAW and would like to store my photos on either my WD NAS system or preferably on my WD My Passport Pro. A typical workflow would be to Download to the MPP using the auto download slot then import the raw file to affinit. On export I would like to export directly to my MPP so that all of my work is available from there. Clearly I would retain the originals on the SDD Card and I have a backup system to my NAS system which I usually access when I am at home As far as I can tell Affinity will not allow me to add the MyCloud app to locations which is central to this issue... Am I missing something here?
  18. Why can't I just save an image as either TIFF, PSD or even JPG after the Develop Persona. Why this complicated Export Persona? Adobe at least got that right. This is a struggle every time. I'm sorry but I'm giving up on this.
  19. When working on file that is read-only, it would be really useful if hitting CTRL+S (or going to File > Save) would either present an alert saying the file is read only and cannot be saved, or opening the 'Save As...' dialogue box like Photoshop does. I was working on a file the other day for several hours, not realising that it was read-only and that pressing CTRL+S was not saving my work (as there was no feedback to suggest a problem). Then when the app froze and had to be restarted, I was dismayed to see all the changes I had done were lost.
  20. Recently updated to v1.6.6 from the last 1.5.x version. Using a 27-inch Late 2013 iMac with 16gb memory, running 10.12.6 With this version, routine operations like file save/export have become EXTREMELY slow. I save the files I work on in layered TIFFs, with a typical file size of ~350mb. In the last 1.5.x build, these files would save (or export to TIFF) in about 30 seconds; with v1.6.6, file save times have jumped to an average of almost 2 *minutes*, with occasional save times of more than 4 minutes! What's more, the save times are very inconsistent; on the same files, successive saves can double with no apparent reason. During these long saves, Monitor reports Photo running up processor use to 700%! In addition, live filter updates have become slow as well — sometimes taking nearly a full minute to completely finish application. In the old version the same operations, on the same files, took perhaps 5 seconds. (These times are on files which I use regularly and am familiar with their performance.) I was excited about the 1.6 update because of the claimed improvement in performance, especially with large files, but it's actually become unusably slow. Is it possible to download the last 1.5.x version and use that until issues with v1.6.x get worked out (if they ever do)?
  21. Affinty Designer when I press Save and the computer has no access at the moment to the storage medium e. g. in my case the network hard disk. So he gives an error message that he cannot save and closes the unsaved file.... The solution would be: instead of closing the file without saving it, it should simply leave it open. This allows the user to specify a location of his own. System: Windows 10 Affinity Designer:
  22. I didn`t use Affinity Photo for iPad for a while and now I can still open and edit photos but when I try to save or export them I get a white screen. what can I do? thanks
  23. Hi, I have run into a problem with Affinity Photo. It will not save my files. When I try to save a file it says: Failed to save document: (where the document is placed) Save failed because the file could not be created. Please report to Serif. File::OpenUnmanaged fopen E001 [errno = 2] I have attached a screenshot of the message. The thing is, the place it shows where it wants to create/save the file, is not the place I picked for it. Also, the place it reports is a folder that has been moved. But it should not matter, because this is an entirely new file and therefore there should not be a problem with a moved location, because this file has no connection yet to a specific saving spot on my mac. At least that is what I think. I tried to restart the application and just start entirely from scratch, but it has not worked. I also tried to not save and just export it, but that would not work either. Hope you can help me/fix the bug.
  24. Hi, I edited a photo and wanted it to be saved to my external drive (as a .afphoto file), which is in this case connected with my apple Time Capsule via USB. I received an error while saving, that said to contact Serif about it. I took a screenshot of it. I hope it helps you to figure out what the bug might be. Thanks for looking in at this.
