  1. Hi, I am new to Affinity Photo but have used Photoshop for a few years. Is there some way of stroking or rendering a curve? regards Beckett
  2. (Hover with mouse over the attachment thumbnails to see the images file name) How to reproduce: 1. Use Perspective Live Filter to distort an image or embedded document 2. Try to apply a Gradient Overlay Layer Effect 3.You'll get the error shown in the attached Bug.jpg Additional report: 1. Create a shape with a similar gradient 2. Try to mask it inside the layer with Perspective Live Filter (as a work around to the bug above) 3. You now get the attached Extra-Bug.jpg issue... Hope these reports help improving this feature. Mods/Devs, if you need to source file let me know and I'll share by PM. Thanks!
  3. Hi, Is there anyone who succeeded to recreate some sort of Render Clouds filter effect that works on an empty layer? In Photoshop you can create awesome backgrounds with it! Did try Perlin noise but it is not the same. Regards & Thanks, David
  4. Hi, I've seen other eps topics but none seem to fit my issue. I get eps files from a research client that needs some extra work dome to them. When I use a viewer such as epsviewer I can see all elements, but when I open with AD many elements are gone such as text, solid lines, and the figure legend. Thanks for any help! example.eps

  8. Hi, I like the Perlin Noise Filter very much! Compliment!
  9. Hi guys I mainly work with 32bit rendered EXR files. When I'm comping rendered objects into backplates, I need to be able to have coloured masks. This is to ensure shadows that are in alpha (masked), creates the correct tone on the backplate. A coloured mask can for example produce a blueish shadow, where a grey scale mask will produce a grey shadow. Is there perhaps a setting I'm not seeing? Whenever I convert a layer to a mask, it goes greyscale!
  10. Hi, is it technically possible to let the value-lists of the comboboxes of the tool bar hover over the floating windows, to be able to use the list? To choose between all values? This would allow to continuously work. No need to "Esc" the combobox, move the floating window away and start over. Cheers, Stefan. AD_Improvement_ToolComboBoxOnTop.mov
  11. Hello everybody this is effinusr, I have a doubt and I don't know where to post my question. I mean, I have a 'problem' when working with Designer but I don't know if this is in the side of the software (config or something like that) or maybe a hardware problem of my iMac. Being more specific, it is a render problem. Can you see the color cuts or steps in the gradient in the picture atached? Or it's my hardware who's failing? And another doubt more, anybody kows how to reset color profiles and this stuff in Designer? PS. (here is a file called test.afdesign embeded in the post, like this you can see my color profile config (I think so, I hope so). There is a picture from a screenshot too that is taken from this test file). Can you help me wiht this? Thank you so much! test.afdesign
  12. When drawing with a raster brush, changing the view zoom level can drastically affect the brush rendering. This means I cannot rely on pixel brushes at all, since I have no idea how they might render on export. It seems to happen particularly on corners and stroke ends. This has been an issue in several versions of Affinity Designer. With each release I get my hopes up only to have them dashed. In the attached example (showing the same stroke at different zoom levels), an exported png rendered with the flattened corner glitch.
  13. More than absurd! I want an explanation for this, I'm doing an export of pdf material at 300dpi and this is happening. Taking into account that in the version before the update I exported a PDF of a much larger size and I had no problems!
  14. Hi, Before I switched to Affinity Photo I used Photoshop CC. In the brushes tool of CC there were render brushes with things like grass, trees etc. ‚ÄčAre these available, or will they be made available as a plugin for AP?
  15. I'm finding that I get a 1-pixel edge around some of my vector elements. Here is one example of the problem. I created a triangle with a black fill, the stroke is white and set to "Align Stroke to the Inside". The result is a 1-pixel line around the triangle. All image files export show the black line. I could break this element into two layers, one for the fill and one for the stroke, but should I need to? If I export the image as an EPS and open it in Adobe Illustrator the lines go away. However, this isn't an ideal workflow. Is this a common problem on Windows? Windows 8.1 Affinity Designer 1.5.1.43

So let me first start off by saying I am a visual designer. I do graphic work, but I have been trying to draw more lately. I spend a lot of my time doing corporate branding type work. Now that Affinity Designer is here it really has freed me from the Adobe world. I am not very good at drawing directly into the computer( I really not as good at drawing as I want to be either) and to be honest I prefer to step away from the screen and doodle in a sketchpad. After I am done doodling I take a picture of my work with my phone and import my drawing. I use the drawing tools to trace, alter, clean up, and embellish my work. This is my first go beyond doodling and it was all completed in Affinity Designer! I did not experience one crash. The program is as fast, smooth and intuitive as they say. I am looking forward to growing with this application! So much to learn so little hours in a day! Thanks guys! You really are putting a powerful and respectable tool in our hands!
  17. Importing, using/moving/rotating/scaling, rendering and rastering .obj files (and in general 3D objects created in Maya or similar). This's the only real reason I can't leave Photoshop behind in favor of AffinityPhoto as of now. Thanks.
  18. I have huge 500cm x 300cm sized file. It is to be printed and placed as a wall advertise. The afphoto file has 96dpi and color mode is CMYK/8bit. When exporting to pdf I get this akward lines. The lines are not there when viewed 100% but in all other zoom levels they are. Will these line be printed? Why are these lines rendered in thumbnail images and further zoom levels? EDIT: I looked closer in to the PDF file and it seems as the AP splits this big image into multiple layers. Is there a way to remove this effect?
