  1. One of the really cool features about Affinity is how you can open the exact same file in both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo. You can even have the same file open in both products at the same time. I'm finding myself often having the same file open in both programs a lot. I make some changes in Affinity Designer, then I open the file in Affinity Photo and make some changes there, then I go back to Affinity Designer becasue I want to make more changes there... but now the file has gone out of date ☹️ The only way that I have figured out on how to refresh the document is by clos
  2. Good day, I found that the preview of applying filters in develop persona is not consistent over the image, the filters being applied partially, please see the attached images. The filter is correctly applied on the exported image, the problem exists in the develop persona, when editing the image. I am using Affinity Photo 1.8.3.180. This bug does not exist on MacOS. Love Affinity Photo, keep up the good work!
  3. (latest version of Affinity Designer 1.7.1 from the Apple Store, OS X 10.10 with the "latest" updates) After changing the document dimensions with "File > Document Setup…" I experience refresh issues on the background area of the document (doesn't seem to matter if the background is transparent or a color). This especially happens very often after adding extra space to a document by using the "Anchor to Page" option. Perhaps related to the fact if it has to trigger a new zoom level afterwards or not. Usually on the right side of the document parts are missing then or I get bars
  4. Happy New Year, folks. I keep encountering times where things need to be refreshed but are not (even after a good wait). It's an old issue and can range from histogram to the main image. I'm not asking here for you to debug the whole show about this. What would help, however, would be a key or button that just does a refresh. F5, I believe is a common choice. Thanks!
  5. There are several times the Designer interface isn't refreshing, although the values seems to been changed 'underwater': EXPORT PERSONA When changing the name of a slice the filename(s) under that slice don't get refreshed in the interface. The filenames show their new names only if you do things like adding a new file. Then they pop to their new state. TOOL DEPENDENT OPTIONS-BAR Eventhough the 'Show Rotation Center' button is selected to always show rotation centers of objects, when switching to a new element Designer doesn't show the rotation center of the new selection i
  6. Searched the forum with a few keywords, but nothing showed up, so checking to see if others are able to replicate this.. With an object selected, resize the document window by grabbing an edge. For me, more times than not, there seems to be a refresh issue where the selection highlight and the actual underlying object are out of sync. Oftentimes it takes additional jiggling of the window size for highlight and object to re-sync. Affinity Designer v1.60 on a 2012 Retina MBP with High Sierra.
  7. Steps to reproduce: 1) Load some raster photo 2) Record a macro which duplicates current layer, and modifies the opacity and blend mode of the copy 3) Make both opacity and blend mode adjustable in the macro by clicking the two corresponding eye icons 4) Remove the duplicate layer 5) Replay the macro 6) While the macro options dialog open try modifying the opacity and blend mode in it. The preview only refreshes when the opacity is changed, but not when the blend mode is changed.
  8. Hi, In AF 1.6.1.93 when using the move tool and entering the new position with the keyboard in the Transform panel, the image does not refresh properly and the moved pixel area does not get cleared up from the old position. Additionally notice the strange marching ants artifact around the end of the sequence. The marching ants are painted both in the old position and bottom of new position.
  9. If I have a rectangle masking an image (I'm using PDFs), and then replace that image, Designer shows the image has been replaced in the layers list. However, the old image will still display. If I interact with the image (scaling or moving usually), the program will jitter between the old and new image. Sometimes it will settle on the new image, but then click back to the old one. Since the image is actually gone, this is obviously a cacheing issue – does Designer maintain a cache of images for display? I'm assuming so. Above, you can see the problem: the two masked em
  10. The layer thumbnail previews in the layer panel are often blank (just a black square) and do not refresh or update. This happens under many circumstances including… when creating new objects opening an existing file reorganizing existing objects As you might imagine this makes working with any project of significant complexity very difficult. Sometimes the thumbnails can be forced to refresh by zooming the view, but other times this doesn't work. Usually switching to a different document in a second tab, and then returning to the original file forces a refresh.
  11. So I'm on the band wagon seeing as PS has gone subscription based. I have Designer and Photo and was happy, kind of. I noticed the performance was very poor on AP. Zooming in on a WIP layer would take too long to update/refresh. I mean, its maybe half a second but it's enough to kill your thought process and kind of disorientates you. What I noticed was the biggest lagger was gradients. A simple gradient overlaid on to my highest level layer. Any attempt at changing the angle of this gradient would cause it to refresh once every second, maybe jumping 20° each time. Totally unusable a
  12. Hi, happened to me more times - Re-draw error, but now: - opened existing .afphoto file - Levels adjustments - at first it did not work - now after a while of some clicking it works....... This re-draw error (refresh) seems to be quite common..... please check it overally ;) Do you have some internal/development F5 "Refresh" combination, please? Would be useful as sometimes the trick with zoom out-in does not work  Thanks for solving Jindra
  13. I mean, when one moves the cursor or draws, all image drawn (lines, etc) become pixelated, and goes back to normal when nothing is moving. The result is a kind of slight flashing for the change of aliasing or simply going to a more pixelated version (is hard to explain, but many of us know what it is) during the seconds the cursor is moving. It is sort of very distracting. It happens to both tools, but have noticed more in Photo. I am planning to buy both, but for me (maybe for others, too) the use if this is fixed will be much more than a converter and print file preparation utility (functio
  14. When I add a HSL adjustment layer, everey now and then the live preview freezes. Need to close and reopen the settings window to get the live preview working agian.
