I wanted to start a topic for everyone new to affinity designer who's working through the work book or just teaching them selves the basics to upload your highs, lows struggle and flow of your progress or any help some of the senior users would be more than welcomed
Twice this morning - second time after machine reboot and re-launching the app - after making standard adjustments in Develop persona, I clicked the Develop command button. Normally the progress indicator will cycle through four or five iterations before moving to the Photo persona, but on these two occasions the develop progress dialog continued to loop and never developed the image. The app was effectively frozen and the only way out was to use Task Manager to kill the instance. Lord, I hate random occurrences - so difficult to troubleshoot.
Chintan posted a topic in Older Feature Requests & Suggestion Postswhile I'm editing photos using develop persona, I sometimes don't know if the edit change I've done has been applied fully or is still being applied For example, I change the noise reduction slider while I've zoomed into the picture, I wait and see no change so I try again and then the change becomes more than it should be since both changes have now been applied If there was a progress bar or something to indicate that the chaange has been effected fully, then a least I can move on to the next edit knowing that up to that point it is satisfactory We also could use a progress bar when the photo is being developed - sometimes I'm just waiting for minutes for the develope photo dialog box to disappear so that I can continue with exporting the image Can these be included in the next update?
Tazintosh posted a topic in Older Feature Requests & Suggestion PostsHi folks, I would like to be able to set much more precisely the gap value of a stroke in Affinity. There is a trick I'm using quite often (in Sketch) which makes able to finely fake a "progress" of the stroke around a circular shape. The point is to set the gap of the stroke as the exact diameter of the circle by multiplying π with it's width (for instance, 500*3.14159265359 if your circle is 500px diameter). This basically means that the gap is now equal to the perimeter of the circle. By changing the Dash value then, we can precise make the stroke grow around the circle. PreciseBorderStrokeProgress.mov Sadly in Affinity, gap value goes from 0 to 100, which simply is way less easy to fine tune, to understand, and also prevent choosing whatever stroke width we want etc. I would love to be able to adjust more precisely these values, but ultimately (and I'm sure you Affinity guys knows exactly what I'm going to say ^^), it would be amazing if you could simply provide a new setting for the stroke: "Progress". With a slider (or precise value input), we could instantly set the progress of a stroke, as well as many other options like how it is etc. Can't wait to hear your thought about it. Cheers.
