  1. Could someone at affinity please send an update on why the ability to open a raw file from Apple photos app on iPad M1 Pro no longer works in v2.1? It worked in the previous version so surely it’s not too difficult to compare the coding.
  2. Greetings, I’m trying to find out if I could change the settings for the grids on affinity designer for iPad Pro? For example if I wanted 28 or 32 columns by 16 or 18 across? Your help is greatly appreciated!
  3. Hey, because the discussion board is full of requests and I don't really know where to put my thoughts and experiences from the first run of Affinity Publisher I put them here in a quick list for further discussion UI Doubleclick on Color in Color selector opens a different dialog to a doubleclick on a swatch mac OS Proxy Icons for file management monochrome tool icons Color Management / Spot Colors: Device independent color workflow generally mixed colorspaces (like in Indesign and PDF) Overprint preview, separations preview Better Overprint/Spot-Color-Management Make Spot Color from existing color Spot Colors in LAB-Color-Space for PDF Export Document Management Spreads which consist of more than two sides Printing Booklets / Imposition Export select Pages for export by a list of numbers Use .joboptions for the definition of pdf-Properties (really important) Define PDF-X Output Intend Export print separations / separated color channels Interactive PDFs with page transitions and video content Import IDML
  4. Hi there people! I finished the linert of my drawing, now I have to color it. Problem is...I need to color inside my flat color without the brush go out of it. In Photoshop, I used to put a new layer on top of the flat color and -> Create Clipping Mask Is there a way I can do that in Affinity Pro for iPad?
  5. Will be necessary and useful have the possibilities to read and set the dot % with at least 2 decimal place. This feature is necessary with the professional work in calibration of a printing process, like offset printing flexo printing and so on, of course in all your suite. Se attache file using Illustrator. Dot % reading.zip
  6. In a professional workflow, like in the printing industries, is quite fundamental the correct use of PDF/X specification. All the Affinity Suite has problems correctly visualise and, probably create, the PDF/X standard as the GHENT Groupe as prepared. If you download the Ghent Suite you see the problem: https://www.gwg.org/workflow-tools/test-suites/ghent-output-suite/
  7. In a professional printing work flow is necessary to create ICC profile for particular printing condition (offset-flexo-gravure). To do so it is necessary to open/measure/print/save a chart (either is a image or vector file) file disabling any kind of ICC profile by the application. In all of the Affinity suite this is not possible to do, it is a necessary opportunity. I suggest to follow the old Adobe (previous the CC era) possibilities.
  8. Update: I went to Microsoft and tried it. You can use the vector brush tool with the surface pen in the same “drawing” motion that you can use on the iPad. I’ve been debating purchasing an iPad Pro vs. a Surface Pro 6...I was messing around with the app on the iPad Pro at the apple store and one thing I liked a lot is you can use the Apple Pencil to essentially “draw” your vectors through the vector brush tool. Is there the ability to do this on Microsoft surface pro with the surface pen with the pc version of affinity designer? Or is it only for the iPad app? Thanks!
  9. OK, I'm in love with AP on my 10.5 iPad Pro. A bit buggy, and I've crashed it about a dozen times in 24 hours but... It's a great start and I'm diggin' it so far. Here's a quick wedding photo edit. 100% iPad and Affinity Photo.
  10. Good afternoon fellows! After watching the official color profiles tutorial in AP on iPad, there remained a single question. How well will this work on an iPad not offering a P3 display like the all new iPad 2018 Ort iPad Air 2? Currently, I‘m using a 9.7 iPad Pro 2016 which has the P3 display built in and I wonder if there will be a disadvantage switching to the new iPad. Is a P3 Display essential for a ProPhoto based workflow? Thanks in advance!
  11. I'm on the 12.9 iPad pro 2nd gen. I load the image attached to try and use as a learning tool. My goal is to select just the tree and use the brush tool to paint on a color overlay. However Everytime I do this the brush tool affects both the tree and the sky. My process so far has been. Open image. Use in painting to remove some stray black dots. Use the option in the selection persona to select by color of sky. Adjust range to fill out sky only and click the check mark to select. Now my selection is perfect so I invert and move to the photo persona I choose the paintbrush. Lower to opacity and start brushing and it effects the entire image. I tried creating a mask layer from the selection but this hides the sky. I researched the selection refinement tutorial and I suppose I must be missing something.
  12. Hi. Ive been trying to import luts into my app but I get a grayed out Dropbox icon. Please help! thanks in advance! im running on latest update of iOS 11 as of 17th October 2017. I’ve uploaded a photo as an example. I tried both MAC and windows version of the lut but it doesn’t work. Both appears the same as this just that the file name and size is different. All of the luts are cube files which I understand is a file type that can be used on affinity photo app on the iPad Pro. Thanks again!
  13. Improve the performance of Affinity photo by adapting Apple's Metal 2 https://developer.apple.com/metal/ iPad drag and drop feature to allow users to drag photos from and to Affinity photo. https://developer.apple.com/ios/drag-and-drop/ Possibly implement machine learning to improve the apps selection tool and inpainting paint brush tool, to improve its accuracy even more. https://developer.apple.com/machine-learning/ Implement 1.UIDocument 2.Open in Place 3.Document Provider Extension 4.iCloud Drive https://developer.apple.com/document-based-apps/
  14. Hey guys, just want to gather some experiences from people who might be using this software as a substitute for Photoshop on the go digital painting wise...and an idea on if it's worth the investment or not. since the release of the iPad Pro version i have been constantly looking through sites and forums for peoples experiences and the usual outcome is critical praise along the lines of a great substitute for PS but usually based off of the perspective from someone who used it with editing photos and not so much with illustration & painting. Basically my Cintiq is down and much of my work has fallen onto the iPad pro i'm not too interested in Astropad and i do have Mediabang and Procreate but both are always lacking many functions i love from using Photoshop i love concept art, texturing, sprite-work and animating so i'd absolutely love anyone else's input on personal experiences before i make the jump. Thanks! :)
  15. 16-Bit would be so much better for printing. especially with gradients as a background. CMYK 16-Bit please. Thanks.
