Hi, I am new to Affinity Designer (a week) and need some guidance. I have a simple problem that I cannot seem to get past. I'm trying to reduce the weight of a font and cannot seem to do it. I am using the PilGi font and would like to reduce the weight. - Thus far I have been converting to curves and adjusting it manually but am not 100% happy with my work. I am struggling with keeping the lines smooth. - I have also tried to create/edit text style as it seems to have that option, but it is greyed out. I would like to just dictated the weight of that font. Please help, this is driving me bonkers! Thanks ahead of time!
Just playing with Affinity Photo 188.8.131.52 windows version software, (I have also be playing with the Mac Beta) to see what is similar to the competition. While exploring the interface and looking for keyboards shortcuts that deal with brush size and hardness I came a cross a possible bug. It is great to note the right/left square bracket keys are used to change brush size (something I use all the time in PS) Unfortunately, changing the hardness using the mouse keyboard combination as described in the built in help " Right mouse button press+Alt+drag (up/down)" does not appear to work! Tried several painting and retouch tools but the mouse+keyboard+ drag combination just does not work! Would it not be easier to just use the right/left square bracket keys utilising the 'shift' or even the 'Alt' key as the modifier to change the hardness? Just like to say thanks for giving us an alternative to 'Adobe' software, keep up with the good work. But one big area of improvement would be to give the Affinity software a facility similar to 'Adobe Bridge' for file management and help with workflow speed. Plus RAW file handling need to be vastly improved, with the ability to save the processing options in XMP sidefiles for each Raw file. The ability to process multiple RAW files as in 'ACR would be a big step forward'. I realise this will take time, but the sooner these are implemented into Affinity photo, the better it will be for all users! One other thing, where is the menu option (or preference option) to check for software updates?
