  1. Good day, I will like to add this suggestion to the team of affinity developers. Can you guys give users access to an api or sdk so we can create plugins just for affinity. If this is made available to users, affinity will get more market ground at pull more creators, companies, freelance developers and school to the affinity products. I teach in a American University of Nigeria, and am pulling my students from adobe to affinity. Many have been asking for plugins and Ux related stuffs. I have ideas of plugins that will help UX designers to move to AD. Please answer this request. Thanks and have a wonderful day. @stokerg @admin @Adam
  2. I came across the Power Retouch Plugin Suite recently. It is available for both Windows and Mac. The price seems fairly high, around $60 or £64 (inc VAT) for a single module or $299 for the set of 27 modules (Windows only). The Demo full suite installs in Affinity Photo with no problems. Those modules I have tried work OK, although once or twice an error message popped up, then disappeared. The Suite includes Colour fringe removal, Chromatic Aberration removal, Brightness and Contrast adjustments, Sharpness Editor (including halo suppression), Film grain, Softness, Lens correction etc. Those I tried worked, though I do not think that they could do anything that the current Affinity Photo could not do as an Adjustment or a Filter. Neither did they do better than my Nik or Topaz plugins. The Demo version modules do leave a visible watermark. The plus is that they all seem to work with Photo. John
  3. Hello guys, I have some control issues. Is there a way to rotate the canvas from the touchscreen other than clicking through the menu or using a keyboard - If not, is there a plugin API to realise such a plugin or a plugin already? It is very annoying if you can't rotate your canvas from a shortcut. Usually if I am drawing I have my Surface standing which means I can't rotate my whole tablet. (On my stationary tablet I got the same issue anyway, but that one hase buttons). In photoshop there is a tool for that. Thank you in advance.
  4. I have opened windows of photos in Affinity Photo that I want to combine in an HDR image. How can I add these open windows directly to a new HDR merge? When I select a few photos in the desktop Mac Photos with the Affinity Photo plugin extension, Affinity Photos opens with windows for the selected photos open. However, when I select new HDR merge, I can't find the photos already open in Affinity Photo to add to the HDR merge and I can't enter the Mac Photos Library through the HDR merge window's "add" button. My tedious work around has been to export the selected photos from Mac Photos to a separate folder and then add the exported files to a new HDR merge, then after creating a new HDR image in Affinity Photos, import it back into Mac Photos. The whole process uses my time and storage very inefficiently and defeats the whole purpose of the Affinity plugin for Mac Photos, so there must be a better way that I haven't been able to discover. I look forward to your guidance in using the Photos plugin to efficiently create HDR images.
  5. Is it possible to use the photoshop plugin "Eye Candy" in APhoto? (in Corel PhotoPaint it was possible to use) https://www.alienskin.com/eyecandy/
  6. It's been requested before but I don't see it in regards to AP 1.7. The official Alien Skin, Eye Candy plugin functionality request for AP 1.7. People are always saying just add this or that to AP and I can drop Photoshop for ever. Well this plugin is the only remaining reason I need to open photoshop. Thank you.
  7. Dear Developers, I have recently started using Affinity designer. Earlier I was using Illustrator. I am a product designer and I an my fellow designers often use multiple applications. We export vectors of our 2d drawings and than further enhance them in vector editors. In Affinity designer so far I have not been able to import .ai or .dwg files. I was wondering if you all could write plugin (for Rhino3D) for exporting .afdesign files form Rhinoceros.
  8. Hello, I have read all the Nik Collection problem posts about v2 not working properly and same saying it does work properly, etc. I had already updated to Nik v2 but I still have my old google version, too. However, regardless of all of that, every single plugin I have in my drop menu is grayed out. I have double checked that 'allow unknown' is checked, I unchecked it, restarted and checked it again and restarted, and still all of my plugins are grayed out. Nik 2 isn't even showing up, but worry about that later. I also checked that I had either actual files or alias folders in the default plugin folder and I do. The Topaz always loaded until I updated my Nik 2. This was after the 1.7 update, but I don't think has anything to do with it. I have the root drive set to global, the applications folder set as a search folder and even added the new Nik folder and still the gray. Please advise. Thank you! Lisa Photos
  9. I see that DxO have released Nik Collection 2. See http://nikcollection.dxo.com there is a 30% discount up to June 30th, and it includes DxO PhotoLab 2.3 I would be interested to see if this works with the new v1.7. I gather that some users have been having problems. John
  10. I would love to cut the Adobe cord and am hoping that Affinity Photo will allow me to do that. But there's one critical issue: does the TWAIN plug in work with Affinity Photo so that I can use my Canon scanner to scan directly into the application?
  11. I was recently made an offer I could not refuse to upgrade my Filter Forge 7 to version 8. There have been hints that Filter Forge has been working to get FF to work with Affinity Photo, so I tried it in both AP 1.6 and AP 1.7 Beta. The plugin installed OK in both programs. Curiously, although the folder was present in the Photoshop Plugins dialog box, the actual plugin was not listed in the Preferences. When I went to Filters > Plugins Filter Forge 8 was listed in both. In AP 1.6 when I selected FF8, I immediately got an error message (which has been submitted to Filter Forge). In AP1.7 Beta, when I selected FF8, the plugin interface appeared and it invited me to register, which I did successfully. However, when I selected a filter to apply to my image, Filter Forge closed and left Affinity Photo Frozen. I had to use the Task Manager to close AP. I tried again today with AP 1.7 Beta and FF8 gave me the same error message as in 1.6, but did not freeze AP. Filter Forge have said here: "We're trying to contact AP developers to fix the problem. How they'll answer us soon and we'll be able to make Filter Forge work under AP again. Meanwhile we suggest to work with Filter Forge in a standalone mode and use copy and paste feature to drag images to and from AP." I shall have to stick with the standalone for now. John EDIT: I seem to have posted this in the wrong forum, in the Suggestions for Affinity Photo on Desktop. It was intended for Affinity on Desktop (MAC and Windows). Moderators: Could this be moved please.
  12. I just updated from Portrait Pro 15 to the current version of PortraitPro Studio (17.3) by Anthropics. The application works on its own, but when run as a plugin on my MacBook Pro (Late 2013 2.6 i7, 16GB RAM) running 10.12.6 it crashes upon launch. All of my other plugins are working properly, and I have done a re-install of both the plugin and the PortraitPro application. On Serif's site I afterwards I saw that PortraitPro Studio 15 was supported and working without issues, but nothing for StudioPro 17 yet. I am wondering if there is something I can do to make this plugin work or if support will soon be coming. Thank you.
  13. I use Luminar 3, but Photoshop plugins provided by Luminar(include other Skylum software) can't be used with Affinity Photo. Is this all I have to give up? I expect the affinity version DAM.
  14. Hi When I select the topaz clarity plugin from filters in Affinity photo when it opens the colours become very de-saturated in the plugin. This doesn't happen when I launch the plugin from Photoshop. Is anyone else having this problem?
  15. One thing that keeps popping into my mind is this: There are tons of title plugins for FCPX/Premiere, but they are only usable within said application(s). For things like Youtube cover pic graphics, social media graphics etc it would be "strange" to create those within FCPX or Premiere with its "timeline" layout. For that one should use Designer, which is document-centric. Long story short: it would be absolutely "KILLER" if Designer was able to utilise those plugins in a static document environment. Over to you, guys, and for all those sympathizing with me, please leave a comment or a "bump". Thank you! Helmar
  16. How can I write plugins for Affinity Photo? Is there an SDK?
  17. Hi all, I successfully installed Nik plugins, but the colour of the photo is so strange (Viveza2). Please see below... Original photos are in regular colour and white balance was set to be correct (see the right down corner one). Who do you know what happens and how can I solve it? Many thanks. PS: the Nik collection is from Google free.
  18. Hi, I took advantage of Black Friday sales to purchase DxO's Nik collection. I followed the installation instructions for installing the plugins into Affinity Photo. They show up Preferences > Photoshop Plugins, "Allow 'Unknown' plugins to be used" is checked, "/" is in Plugin Support Folders and "Authorize Global" is greyed out. When I select a pixel layer in the Photo Persona I can select only one of the plugins that appears in Filters > Plugins > Nik Collection, "HDR Efex Pro 2". All the others are greyed out and cannot be clicked, not even the two that have status "Working." HDR Efex Pro 2 did run when I clicked it. I am running Affinity Photo 1.6.7 on macOS 10.13.6 on a 2018 MacBook Pro 15" with Touch Bar & Touch ID. The pixel layer is "Background," generated by the Develop Persona. The file that was developed was a Nikon RAW (NEF) created on a D7200 using Adobe RGB. The Develop Persona uses the ROMM RGB profile for output. Neither Lightroom nor Photoshop is installed on the machine.
  19. hi, cant wait to try affinity photo for windows, and my number 1 question is: does or will Randomcontrol "ArionFX for Photoshop" link plugin be supported? i am asking here as its not on your list: http://www.miguelboto.com/affinity/photo/plugins-support/ i'll buy affintiy photo definitely if it is best regards Reinhard Kepplinger
  20. Filter Forge

    Filter Forge 7.0 is released

Dear Affinity Photo users! I'm glad to announce that Filter Forge 7.0 is released. It supports Affinity Photo 1.5, and will support AP 1.6 as soon as Serif officially releases the update. All the new features with descriptions are here https://www.filterforge.com/features/ but I'll list them here as well. For all the users: 1. We've made Filter Forge faster by improving sample caching. 2. Copy and paste images between Filter Forge and any graphic editor. So it means you can use Filter Forge with AP 1.6 even before the update is released. 3. Generate and preview all active channels during rendering and export all of them to files at once. For filter authors: 1. Instant component search will help you to find and add any component faster and easier. 2. We refreshed 47 existing components, made their list and slider inputs mappable. Now there's even less boundaries for your creativity. Try all these new features https://www.filterforge.com/download/ and let us know what you think.
  21. Love Affinity. From the few things I miss, I miss the ability to quickly add measurements like you can with the Illustrator plugin called BPT-Pro see: https://www.baby-universe.co.jp/en/plug-in/bpt-pro4/
  22. Hi! I'm here for the first time! I admire the work on the program and keep my fingers crossed for further development I would like to ask if there is an option in the program or any plugin that would allow me to make a "jitter" effect? Something like shaking in animation. Currently, I draw two pictures and then place them in a video editing program next to each other to get that effect. However, the process of drawing twice the same image is time-consuming. If there was a possibility of moving lines/making jittery/wiggly in in the finished picture, it would speed up my work at least twice #1 Edit: Oh,I am using Windows 10 It's more or less the effect I'd like to get:
  23. So using the Solidify filter plugins from the Flaming Pear Software is essential for my texture work. Currently they are crashing Affinity Photo as soon as they are applied. I can see the correct results in the canvas sometimes before it crashes. I saw this issue being raised in the forum like 2 years ago and it seems there wasn't any development that made it possible to use said plugins. So any advice on achieving the same results without using Solidify B? Would Serif be interested in integrating such filters or is anyone else working on developing a working plugin? Below are the plugins if anyone wants to check 'em out http://www.flamingpear.com/freebies.html
  24. Hi, I just start with Affinity photo and was mainly only using Lightroom previously while I plan to quit it to Capture one+Affinity with the aim to mainly finalise my work on printings much more than online gallery. That's where I get some fever since I really don't master the printing process and until now mainly used experimentations until reaching an honnest result but I really want from now on to do it more "professionnaly" and mastering the things more than letting it to destiny and luck dispite it always keep a part of mystery that I appreciate and open new persepectives. A good mistake is always a source of inspiration... Where I feel the need to share those existential stuffs is the tip and tricks I were using on lightroom doesn't work anymore with affinity and as some people know here, Studio pro doens't get along well with Affinity. I'm searching a solution either include in Affinity or a dedicated software to print and give me all power on function of the printer and color managment while neutralising all parameters include in the driver set up box. I don't understand why after spending that much of time adujsting and tuning a picture, printers managment is that much chaotic in amateur world whith possibility to set the same ICC profile in different places and creating mess while you choosed in both places the same profil or choosing mat or bright function in driver window instead to have one window that controls all at once. It drive me crazy and lost to spend that much of time when you already sweat quite a lot on your editing and post processing. Please, HELP!!! Sorry for this approximative english
