  1. I have the following suggestions for improvement to make working with placing and editing images easier and more efficient: When doing layout, you actually always work with images that are in frames. Until now it is always unfortunately the case that images placed by drag-and-drop are always inserted as a pure image without frames. Therefore, it is always necessary to convert them awkwardly via context menu as picture frames. This is somehow very cumbersome. Couldn't a user preset be included that makes the image placement similar to e.g. InDesign or QuarkXPress (images are automatically in frames)? Also, unlike InDesign and QuarkXPress, determining the image section in a frame is still far too cumbersome in Affinity Publisher, unfortunately. I know there is an image fit feature that is somewhat similar, but you still have to select the correct frame point position in the image options each time so that when you draw the frame closed, you don't accidentally move the inside image inside the frame. There better be an option that you really can close or open the frame from any side without moving the position of the image inside. It also wouldn't be bad if you could preset the different image fitting functions in the preferences as well (how you prefer to work). The manual switching between the different modes could still be left as it is (so that you can still change the mode in between). I hope that some of these things can be implemented in newer versions.
  2. There appears to be a problem with text wrap when placing an AF Photo image onto a page of text in AF Publisher. The text wrap square setting does not allow text up to the image. The attached file shows an extra border above the image. Placing a jpg of the same image gives the expected result. I am using AF Publisher 1.9.2 Afphototextwrap.afpub
  3. Apologies if this has been asked before. If someone sends me a graphics file, such as a jpeg, for placing in a Publisher file, but I need to make some changes in Photo (usually converting to black and white and adjusting the colour balance), is it better to place the afphoto file in Publisher or to re-export ad jpg and place the graphics file? And similarly for a pdf which needs tweaking in Designer? What are the trade-offs?
  4. I'm putting together a small book of photographs and as a newcomer to Publisher I'm not sure what are considered best practices for working with images. I can give an image a border (a thin rule) whether or not it's in a frame. Then again, I can't seem to assign a style via the Styles palette (specifying a particular rule width and color) to images lacking frames. Using the Styles palette is pretty quick and the results are predictable. I could be missing something here. There might be situations I haven't encountered in which not having a frame would cause problems in the future. What might they be? On the other hand, is using an image frame simply overkill a lot of the time? (If I want to lock the image "in the raw," that's one command within the Layers palette. But if it has a frame, I have to lock the frame and image separately ... somewhat irritating that there's no option to lock both at once as it doesn't seem possible to select both at the same time...or, is it?)
  5. My printer saves scans in tifs. When I’m scanning more than one it puts all the scans into one tif. Page Plus 8 knows what to do: when inserting the tif, it lets me put each page where I want it. But Affinity 1.7.1.404 only knows about the first page. Can you make it remember them all, as Page Plus does?
  6. I fail to reproduce this tutorial : Raster images in a composition. Everything is OK until 3'07'' of the video. Then, when I drag my image layer to the curve layer, it is not cropped, but appears 'above' my shape. On the other hand, if I simply draw a shape, select it, click insert (above, on the right) and then only place a picture directly in the shape, that does it. Surprising, isn't it ? [ps : great software, great tutorials. Thanks again.]
