  1. Hi i have weird problem with both designer and photo beta (iMac 5k, OS X yosemite 10.10.2, designer 1.2 and photo beta 1.1.2). I can't save or open any files with designer or photo beta (including affinitys own files or all image files, pdf, ai ....) unless the files i try to open are in pictures folder or i save to pictures folder (pictures folder that OS X creates for user). Anywhere else, i get the error message you don't have permissions... or file is corrupt... or file is not found... If i copy files to pictures folder then i can open them without problems. Also preview in open file dialog shows red cross with all files when files are outside pictures folder. So this is clearly some kind of wicked permissions problem between OS X and affinity apps only. I don't have any permission problems with other softwares (like adobe cc, manga studio etc). I also tried running the repair permission command but it had no effect whatsoever and i don't know what else to try. I recall with adobes software corrupted preferences files can cause problems so could this be something similar? Anyway i am out of ideas what to do. Reinstalling had no effect either. This is very annoying since i would love to use designer (and photo) but right now its impossible.
  2. Hi, I have searched through various topics but don't find anything that deals with this: I have an iPad pro running Affinity Designer with absolutely no trouble at all. Flawless function. EXCEPT when I want to access my camera roll. There is nothing there. I looked in iPad settings and AD has not requested permission to access photos... I've reinstalled app and everything. No change. Still no way to get the app to see my pics. Please help? Thanks a million

    Failed to open File

I have Affinity Designer (1.6.1) installed on my iMacPro (macOS 10.13.4) and I can't open files anymore that I have created just a few weeks ago. I always get an "Failed to open file" error. "This file could not be opened because permission was denied." The file is on a NAS from which I can open it with no problem from my MacBookPro (macOS 10.13.4) no matter wether I connect via NFS, AFP or SMB. I tried to copy the file locally off the NAS, but I still get the same error. I deleted and re-istalled Affinity Designer, but it still does not work. What can I do? Please help!

    FAILED TO OPEN FILE.

I can't open any of my working photos. I get the dialog as attached. Is it that I can't access photos that aren't in my "Photos" folder? And how can I fix it so I can access photos from any of my locations? David

    Permission Denied

Please can anyone tell me why two days ago I could access all my Affinity Designer files. Yesterday I get this message on all my files. I have give access/permissions using File info on all of the files and folders. Also when I finally got one to open I had a black (not white) artboard. I am so frustrated that I downloaded the trial version of Affinity Designer onto my laptop and worked to create my files again. I had NO PROBLEM with redesigning and saving these files. I then copied them onto my usb and tried opening new files on my main working imac. You guessed it Permissions denied. Have I a corrupt application and if so will they send me a new one without having to rebuy? Has anyone had these problems, I like this program and would hate to have to go back to Illustrator. Permissions

I just bought Affinity Photo and I can't believe it has the same file permissions problem it had in beta. I cannot open a file that is not in my Pictures folder and I can't save a file anywhere. No matter where I try to save a file, Affinity Photo tells me I don't have permissions to save a file in that location. I have to tell you that I'm really disappointed. I've spent $40, I had reported this problem in beta and the product is pretty much useless if I can't save my work. I guess I'll just have to keep using Photoshop... 7. I can't save or open files. Because it says I have no permissions. It started trying to export a png. Last year I solved it repairing disk permissions but now with El capitan last update I can't do it. Any idea. I really need to open my files this is an urgent problem.
  8. The media browser in Affinity Photo will not load pictures from Aperture or Photos, it does show their libraries and names blank thumbnails, but I can neither see the image or select it to work on- it will not load. I can however right click the blank image and then select it from finder. Also, I can not drag an image in directly from the Photos app, but if I drop it on the desk top first I can drag it into Affinity Photo. I can drag and drop from Aperture.
