Hi there, as I'm likely keen on collecting fonts, I somewhat regularly look for awesome ones and stumbled over Color Fonts (https://www.colorfonts.wtf/) On the page, there is Affinity Designer listed as supporting svg-Color Fonts - which must be svg packed within otf, if I understood that right -, but anywhere else including this forums, I only found the whole Affinity Suite does not support this yet, but also found some users, that would appreciate having it supported. So am I, and as I didn't find a posting about, I opened this one - excuse me if this wasn't right. I'm using Photo and Publisher at the moment, but would also buy Designer, just to get Color Font-Support I don't really make a lot of publications, but everytime I do, having color fonts supported would be fantastic. Thanks, and so long, sistra
I have just been sent some client files that I have tested importing their supplied PDF into Designer, the font from Typesenses called Blend Script is used in the original indesign document. Designer imports the PDF but the OTF swashes and alternates are all messed up. Changing them from default to 'swash 1', 'alternate 1' puts the text back to how it was in the original Indesign file. Would you like the files to see what is happening? If so I would need a private place to send them/upload them Regards, Mark
I would love to see a special font module in Affinity designer that allows you to assign a object to a letter, for example you could ink the letter 'F' and then assign it to capital 'F' to a new or existing letters collection. Then in any affinity document you can select the font to instead source from the collections and the selected text will be converted to collections font that you created. It will operate just like a normal font minus that any modifications to to the original selected collections file font will be displayed as a live preview. It could work very similar to how swatches works with collections and you would be able to take the collection font file and work in it on another computer or device using affinity. And finally when you are happy with the font that you can export directly into a TTF OTF or Webfont. I have included a rough basic concept idea for the on display information and selection of letter by letter collections handle.
