  1. Hi there, I'm using Affinity Publisher 1.7.1.404 and wanted to open a .afpub-file lastly edited with Affinity Publisher Public Beta 1.7.0.337. Unfortunately, Publisher keeps loading the file and eventually crashes without error notification. Opening with the beta isn't an option since the beta has expired. The file contains text, embedded and linked images. It would be great, if I was able to access the file, since there is some data in it, I would not want to recreate in the retail version. Of course, I know, that working with sensitive or important data in betas is at one's own risk. I just wanted to ask, if there is some knowledge regarding opening beta files in the retail version or getting the data in some other way. Thanks in advance, Valentin Edit: I was able to open the file with all its references and embedded contents with the current Customer Beta of Publisher version 1.7.2.442. I don't know what caused the retail version to crash since it correctly opened another beta-file (less complex and on another computer). I guess, basically beta-files and retail-files are compatible, but some reference or adjustment made the retail version crash. Whatever, for me, personally, this issue has been solved, before this post was approved by a moderator. Nevertheless, I wanted to post the workaround in here for anyone having similar problems with the retail version.
  2. I am having issues opening my affinity files that I created in the beta version of Publisher now in my purchased Publisher. I see them when I go to open but they are greyed out like they cannot be accessed. Any help would be appreciated! Kelly
  3. Greetings fellow Affini-types I'd like to ask a question about the functionality of both Designer and Photo .. I frequently use both of these programs to create frames that I later make into animations. As such, creating each file in the scene, I name them sequentially like "Filename 1", "Filename 2" and so on. When revisiting the files to edit later, I like to grab a bunch of the files and double click them all to open them as a set. The current, and rather odd functionality that I'd like to avoid is this: If I open up 6 files, named "xx 7.png", "xx 8.png", "xx 9.png", "xx 10.png", "xx 11.png", "xx 12.png", the order that the tabs open up is a complete jumble, for example just now I opened the same list of files, and the order Designer opened them was: "10, 8, 12, 11, 9, 7". With only 6 files, this is not a huge task to correct, but when opening 25 or 30 files at a time, and also doing this several times per hour, it's really cumbersome to have to go and reshuffle the tabs around so I can step through them easily in a sequential fashion. I would like to ask if this is possible in the current release of Designer and Photo, and if so, how? If this isn't currently possible, I'd like to request that this is added as a new improvement, as it would make my particular work flows much more efficient. I use multiple tabs within Safari windows in a similar fashion, and would suggest that Affinity could possibly twin Safari's Tab behaviour to make it easier to navigate between the currently open tabs. Safari's key-command "Command+Shift+(RightArrow)" and "Command+Shift+(LeftArrow)" makes a nice addition as a method to skip right or left across the tabs as well. These sequences fall easily at hand with a laptop keyboard and is familiar to Safari users. I think the above would make a dandy addition to these two truly world-class pieces of software. Please let me know if anyone can help.
  4. I'm finding Affinity Photo 1.6.6 becoming increasingly slow to launch, and getting hung up (beach-ball spinning forever) opening jpg files, some of which aren't especially large. Is there some app cache somewhere that may have become corrupted and that I can clear? (I'm on a 5K iMac running 10.13.2)
  5. Hello, Sometimes when I am trying to open afdesign files through the app the files are disabled or greyed out. I can search through finder and drag and drop the file into the app or I can search through finder and select open in Affinity Designer and it opens fine. However, some files when I try to open them from the app menu they are displayed as disabled and I cannot open them. Thanks, Jeremy
  6. I don't usually rely on betas to do my main work but it seems like the only solution for me to open the file. Is there going to be an update to AP 1.4.x that will allow me to open AD 1.5 files? I am not sure if I want to rely on a beta.
  7. I totally love the software, but having a problem. When I try to open certain .png files, both Photo and Designer as well crash. I reinstalled AD and AP and restarted them with reset (+ctl pressed), that did not help Thanks for ideas
