  1. All the affinity applications are crashing it does not open, I click on an affinity application, it loads the square screen that always comes out and then closes without doing anything, I thought it was my computer and it wasn't, I thought it was my AMD Driver they were not, restart the applications, nothing, uninstall it and install it again and nothing, I read in the affinity forums that it said to change the name of the application folder "1.0" that's the name of the folder, but it doesn't work, another one is created folder with the same name. I have bought it in the Microsoft store and I cannot download old versions, find where to download old versions, affinity official page, I downloaded version 1.8.5 affinity desinger, and it worked perfectly, it opened, I worked for an hour and I don't know closed the application. Also download the latest version, I thought it was a microsoft store error, but the same did not happen. I hope they help me, what happens with the affinity applications, I always love to have the latest updates to my applications but this one I can not do anything. Thanks. i also saw a russian video i found on the forums, it didn't work for me either. Maybe it's because I bought it from the microsft store.
  2. Framing budget: Max €3500, preferably under €2500. I’m planning on buying a new PC, and would like to take advantage of GPU acceleration in the Affinity suite, and also get great performance with DaVinci Resolve (free Windows version) for video editing. My current setup is so old (bought in February 2013, Intel Core i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz; Win 10 Pro; 16 GB RAM; GeForce GTX 660) that GPU acceleration isn’t available in the Affinity suite, and DaVinci Resolve runs painfully slow. I have my eyes on the new Acer ConnectD 300 (Intel Core i7-10700 CPU @ 2.9 GHz (turbo 4.8 GHz); Win 10 Pro; 32 GB RAM; GeForce RTX 3070), which in Sweden will cost about €2100. Would that be an excellent and price worthy choice? Why, or why not? Or should I go for a custom built setup? And should I then go for AMD or Intel as CPU, and which CPU/GPU combo gives most bang for the buck? Any other considerations, such as motherboard, RAM, SSD, etc? Is CUDA support important, or is OpenCL/OpenGL support enough? If someone has a parts list for a custom built PC to share, that would be very much appreciated – and probably of great help to others too!
  3. Can someone confirm whether that is possible? It seems to be possible in Affinity Designer, but not in Affinity Photo, which is weird. I thought the apps were pretty similar. First screenshot is Affinity Photo, second is Affinity Designer.
  4. Hello, I use MacBookAir i7 8g 512SSD (11pol) How best adjust for economy battery???? . OpenGL ativate??? . Use only GPU Integrated??? Help
  5. Hi all, A quick question... I'm running Affinity Designer & Affinity Photo on a Mac Pro 2010 with nVidia Quadro 4000 2gb GFX card on High Sierra 10.13.2 and cannot seem to get the 'metal' option under Performance to work - it's greyed-out. I've checked System Profiler and the report states Metal is supported. Interestingly, it works fine on my Macbook Pro Retina 15in (2012). Is this a bug?
  6. Hi, i would like to know witch settings are the best : OpenGL only, Open GL and Integrated GPU or Integrated GPU only? What are the differences? 'Cause, i'm having some performance issues with objects that have thousands of nodes. Thx. Ben
  7. So been plowing through AD/AP coming from Xara. I had a couple posts regarding brushes, smoothing (can't wait to see this in 1.6), etc... Most of the suggestions, my searching and help files point me to the OpenGL settings under Preferences. Unfortunately I don't have these options. I'm running the latest Windows version of AD/AP, with: Windows 10 Pro X64 - 10.0.14393 AMD A10-5800K GeForce GTX 1050 16 GB memory So are these settings only applicable to the MAC version? I've done many OpenGL test/benchmarks and all is good, and I have the latest Nvidia drivers. I've also seen some posts in relation to AMD cpus and maybe some limitations, etc...is this true? One reason I'm asking is that I may be building a new rig in the next week or so and I'm leaning towards another AMD CPU (FX-8370) and may switch to Intel if there are issues/limitations with Affinity products. Thanks.
  8. One of the few things preventing me from actually sticking with the Windows beta is that there is no way for me to precisely zoom how much I want. This is easily solved in the Mac version as Macs have beautifully crafted trackpads that allow smooth navigation in 2 axes. On windows, however, this can only be achieved using touchscreen devices since as far as I know, there's no general way to get raw input from Windows trackpads. It would be nice if smooth realtime pan + zoom&rotate could be implemented on the Windows version through touch devices.
