  1. Using the option "Brush Panel >> Menu >> New Intensity Brush" and selecting multiple PNGs will result in a single brush containing the selected png images as nozzels. If I want to import several PNG files as distinct brushes, the only way is to select each and every single PNG file and create a brush out of it. I would like to suggest the following: Change the option "New Intensity Brush" to "New Multi Nozzel Brush". Create a new option called "Create Intensity Brushes" and allow multiple pngs be imported as distinct brushes.
  2. Hi, i have just tried the Affinity Photo trial, please move this topic if i'm posting in a wrong section. I have two problems with AP during the limited time i used it, first of all, the patterns break when loading a PSD file, i'm not sure if this has been addressed elsewhere or if there's a workaround for this as i'm very new to the software and i couldn't figure out a way to get it working, short of recreating the pattern and trying to apply it in a similar way as it was looking before. Was this an issue with my particular instalation/software/hardware configuration or is this an issue you are aware of/working on resolving? The second issue i had goes a bit deeper, so in... Affinity Photo's biggest competitor... you can apply multiple layer effects of the same kind to the same layer, allowing you to create for example two outlines or a gradient glow/shadow. I didn't find anything of that nature in this program, furthermore PSD files i opened with AP that had multiple layer effects applied to them broke, not permanently, just didn't display properly. You know what i mean. Maybe that option is already there but i was just not able to find it, and then why would imported files break if that was the case? Is this also something you are working on resolving? Overall i was very pleasantly surprised with the program, the workflow was pretty similar to what i'm used to, might even consider giving it a shot past screwing around with a few files and effects on a trail version but those two issues just sprung up on me during the first time i tested it and they are a pretty big deal to me. I don't know if that's an official statement but i've read many times in reviews and recommendations of the program that it is able to properly interpret complex PSD files without issues and breaking patterns and layer effects are a pretty big issue in my workflow.
  3. I am thinking of creating a sort of collage of images in an Affinity document. I need three columns with separation lines. I want to ensure that I can use a standard Affinity template and just place three images in the appropriate place and move them around so that they look good together. I want the image to be visible in one column only. I used rectangles and created mask layers under them. However, this does not seem to be fool proof and I run into issues with the center column invariably. Also, I lose the column border. I have attached the afphoto file. Can you suggest a better method to do this? EMW.afphoto
  4. Ok. So i managed to get the TOC spanning two pages as its become too long for one page. But is it possible to set that the second page start with the style that I have marked? Right now it looks a bit messy as the second page does not look good as a continue of first page. How can I make this look better? Thanks!
  5. So want to add 2 style names on same line so that it can look something like this. Where I have Name and then TAG or the other way around if possible. This is picked up from a tables in the document. But when i try this I get this. How can I have them on the same line? is it even possible? I have tried searching for this, but not sure what the right search would be. Thanks!
  6. I'm new to Affinity and like what I see. This may be a dumb question, but being used to Aperture and then Photos, I could import a card full of images and then work on them one at a time. I have tried selecting multiple images and it just never finishes. I have only been able to do one at a time. Running V1.4.1 Appreciate any help or direction on this. Not successful searching forums and the help files. Thanks, :)
  7. Hey everyone! I have a lot of files (right now, 128, but there will be a lot more) from Procreate that need minor editing. I would like to save all .pngs flattened and close all files at once, since at the moment, this takes just about the amount of time that I need for actual editing. It would be great if there was a way to save multiple files in the same manner (for example, flattened) and (or) close them with discarding any unsaved changes. Best wishes, Shu
  8. Is it possible to close all open documents with a single click without closing the app? In Photoshop you can right click on the tab of any of the open documents and then choose "close all". This closes all open documents but keeps Photoshop open for futher work. I can't seem to do this in Photo, is it possible?
  9. Hi, I’m not sure what to call this. I want to adjust the colour and brightness in multiple objects but change them respectively so if you start with different colour you end with different colours. There are attached images to help explain what I mean. Thanks for any help
  10. I know this possibility from the program InDesign: insert ONE Photoshop file, but show different layers from the same *.psd. Does this work in publisher too? If yes - then I can not find it unfortunately ...
  11. Sorry about this post. I went back and did this again, and it works. I must have done something that I can't reproduce. There is no problem to report. I have selected multiple lines at one time and I want to change them from dashed line to solid line, but this does not work. I can change color and stroke size of multiple selections, but not stroke style.
  12. I've just installed Affinity Photo on my MacBook Pro and my question is this: Can I also install the software on my iMac? I've searched the forums using "install," "multiple," and "computers," but nothing came up. ONepenthe
  13. I wish that Publisher will have support for multiple indices (Index of subjects, index of passages, index of authors, index of ancient authors, index of tables, index of figures etc)
  14. In Affinity Designer, I have a whole series of vector lines, all of a particular stroke width. I want to change the stroke width on all of these objects (there are over 100). I can select these multiple vector objects, but then I can no longer access the properties panel. It seems like this should be simple, but there seems no way to do it in Affinity Designer. If there isn't, can we please have it? At present, I would have to individually select each line, change the width, go on to the next line, etc. And Designer doesn't have any interface, it seems to automation tools like AppleScript.
  15. Searching the help did not produce any result. How do I draw for example a 12-leaf-daisy by only drawing one leaf and than duplicate/rotate it along a circular path? Is there any built in function like "actions" or "automatic repeat by angle and path"
  16. Since getting a new pc running Windows 10 I had to duno Photoshop 5 and buy x8. On v5, to print multiple pics on one page was simple. Using the one image already in use, select file, print multiple then slot the multiple layout you want, slot the image in the with one click load up more picks and slide each one onto the page and print. easypeasy. In x8, having loaded print studio and selected a multiple print layout (but not my favourite 3x2 eight to a page) when I slide a pic onto the page every time I try to fit it into a slot or rotate it I get a dialogue box telling me to insert a number. But what number and where??? Now all the other buttons are dead and I can't get rid of the damn dialoge box Is it x8 or my age (73) or that a stroke killed me and the right side of my brain
  17. Lets say I want to develop 5 RAW files. They require all the same develop settings like white balance, curve adjustment, pre sharpening and lens corrections, to mention just a few. Is there an easy way or do I have to make 4 separate presets in the Basic, Tones, Detail and Lens tab?
  18. Unfortunately, there is no "function" to save the studio. (If so, please prove me wrong). That does not mean you can't save it manually, and even keep multiple versions of it to suit your different workspaces. As a bonus or drawback, some of your preferences will also be saved or recalled by the same process. To save your Studio configuration (MAC) The following allows you to keep a safe copy of your studio configuration, including the Toolbar and other preferences (I did not know which ones at this point) Quit Affinity Designer From the finder top drop-down menu, select GO and press [option] — [shift] or [^control] on some systems. A new item called Library should appear in the menu. Click it. Navigate to this location : Macintosh HD/Users/YourUserNameHere/Library/Containers/com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner/Data/Library/Preferences Copy the file com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to a safe location of your choice. I recommend a cloud base storage, so you can get it back on a new or different system at anytimel. Go back to work with peace of mind, your Studio configuration is now safe. To recall the Studio If the studio go astray, or the toolbar plays hide and seek on you: Quit Affinity Designer Copy back com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to its original location (From where you saved it above) — Replace the existing files Note that the studio will come back the exact same way you had it at the time you copied the file for the first time. Changes you made between the two procedures will be lost. Forever. I have not tested it yet, but I'm sure that some other preference settings will be affected as well, I just don't know to what extent. Multiple Studios: You can make multiple Studio arrangements and save them independently. Just copy com.seriflabs.affinitydesigner to different locations. Be sure to label them properly, so you remember what they are. Very useful on a laptop that uses an external monitor that is not always connected. If you're comfortable with MacOS Automator, you can even create series of app/scripts to save or restore your Studio configuration(s) automatically. Not the smoothest process and I wish there was a prebuilt function for that… But until it does, or someone proves me wrong, it's a workaround. Enjoy!
  19. Is there a way to edit multiple artboards at the same time? I need to resize a pdf document for all pages. Each page is an artboard. When I click on multiple artboards, it gives a combined size, which is hard for resizing. Instead of clicking multiple artboards of 2x4 and it displaying 4.5x4...can I click multiple artboards and resize each to be 4x8?
  20. Hello friends, I’m a total newbee. I’m just wondering if there is a way to select multiple areas of a layer at one time. For example, I would like to create a selection rectangle around a portion of the image, and then in another location in the same layer select another portion. Then I could copy both into a new layer at the same time. Photoshop also has the ability to create multiple rectangles and merge the selections or subtract from them. I tried holding down COMMAND or SHIFT on my keyboard without result. Right now I am actually using the flood selection tool (magic wand) in order to select red letters of a word. I would like to be able to select all of the letters, then do a copy and paste it into the new layer. I know there are other ways of doing this (like selecting a color tone) but if I just want to do multiple selects, how would I do so? Any ideas? Thank you! 22. Is there a way to export all artboards as pngs...without having to save each one at a time?
  23. To round individual corners one need only untick "Single radius" in the info bar at the top of the window. But how do we select 2 or 3 corners and round them at the same time (to be the same radius)? This can be easily done in Illustrator. Thank you.
  24. Hey there, what I'm missing so far regarding the swatches panel: - Easy renaming workflow of swatches with F2 and Tab, and to go further: something like Renamy would be even more awesome - Select and delete/copy multiple swatches. At least it should be possible to click/select and delete via DEL-key to easliy clear up the swatches - "remove unused colors"-option to quickly clean up a palette - usecase would be mostly the the document-related palettes - Convert already added swatches to Global/Spot-Colors - Ability to easily set spot-color-name the same as swatch-name and vice versa (without copy-paste, perhaps with a checkbox in the settings of each swatch) - Missing a direct "Add current color to palette as Spot Color" very much! - The to "Add current color to palette [...]"-Icons are not very distinctive. I would've added at least a big triangle in the left bottom corner of the button regarding the "add as global color" option to suit the appearance of those color in the swatch-list/grid below - Setting/checkbox/action to add swatches via "create Palette from document/image" directly as Global/Spot-colors. - Indicator to see in which Colormode the color originally was created and then have the ability to quickly switch color from RGB to CMYK-Mode and vice versa (perhaps even be able to determine the rendering/conversion while doing so) Greetings, Johannes.
  25. Hello Guys, Well i have been using AD for my UI design projects and i am enjoying it so far. Some of you guys may know that there are multiple devices with multiple screen sizes. Multiple resolutions which doesn't scale up or down proportionally due to difference in aspect ratio. So how do you guys start the design? 1. Do you create an artboard with smallest version then scale up or other way around? 2. How do you export the assets with AD? (By export i meant efficient way to export multiple size) 3. How do you deal with different aspect ratio? I know that AD has good export tools where i can choose 1x, 2x for export but the aspect ratio for all screens are not same. I started a design for Iphone 5 retina display. It has an aspect ratio of 16:9. So i can use 1x, 2x asset features to scale up or down. 4. But what about android with ratio 16:10 for some device? My strategy was to design for different ratio, starting with smallest device then scale up asset during export. 5. Is this an efficient way or do you have better way? Note this question is not directly related to AD but the question general. But as i am using AD export feature so i am asking here to know if there is some efficient way that i didn't figure out.
