  1. I'm working with some vector graphics that need to be quite precise. I get the problem when I touch the pencil tip to an object to select it, it immediately drags that object a small amount, because there is indeed a miniscule motion whenever the pencil is tapped. But what I want is for the initial selection action to keep the object in place, and then to move it to require a second action, maybe lifting the pencil first and then dragging, for example. Is there any setting that I could adjust to change this behavior? I'm using Ipad Pro with Apple Pencil. The app is working great so far otherwise.
  2. An old habit from Photoshop, when I have a selection, I can move the selection with the selection tool active. When I want to move its contents, I either have to switch to the move tool or hold the shortcut for the move tool. But, it is easier to use a modifier key, such as Ctrl, because it isn't in use as of now. For reference, Shift constrains selection proportions and Alt removes from selections.
  3. Would be nice if you could add an option to move a object according to the rotation on the Transform panel. e.g. If the object is rotated 45 degree, typing a value in X/Y moves the object according to that angle.
  4. Hello! I'm working with a document using inches, and when I move objects using the transform window it defaults to move by full inches (1" > 2"). In Adobe when you hit the up or down arrow in the transform window it will increase by (.0625") making small alignment easy. I am not asking about the nudge preferences, as I find moving that way to be imprecise, but I still like the increments of (.01") for very small adjustment. Screenshots attached. I apologize if this question has already been asked before.
  5. The desktop version of Affinity Photo has a series of helpful Move tool modifiers available in the toolbar. Which of these are also available in the iPad version either as a button, a menu option, or as a multi-touch modifier? Enable Transform Origin (I'm particularly interested in this one) Hide Selection while Dragging Show Alignment Handles Transform Objects Separately Cycle Selection Box (attached screenshot is from Affinity Photo for Mac 1.7.2.151)
  6. I have a Newsletter that I have been working on for some time, including several images. Today I was attempting to insert another image into a textbox. I used the following procedure: In the Layers panel, ensure that I am in the correct text box. Locate the position in the text to insert the image and double-click. Use File > Place to locate and load the image to be inserted. Select the image with the move tool and ensure it is identified as active in the Layers Panel. Click on the Foat Text button in the context toolbar. This does not always seem to have any effect, the image still sits above the text, or sometimes it seems to have become almost fully transpaent. With the image layer selected and with the move tool selected, use the Shift-Arrow keys to move the image to the right place. At this point Publisher crashes. Despite always attempting this process the same each time, i sometimes find that the image gets loaded outside the text box and I have to explicitly move it into the text box layer. Having successfully re-located the image this does not seem to affect the crashing - it crashes whether it needed re-locating or not. Here is the Dump file: 2f6e1f30-107c-4d91-9e2a-b2fb573e2c96.dmp Here is the .afpublish file: FOCWNews44 Autumn Winter 2021 v10.1.afpub And here is the image I am trying to place and move: I do not have Hardware Accelleration active. I am using Publisher 1,10.4 (latest update). John
  7. Is there a way to nudge a layer on the iPad Pro? When I look under the help files on the open screen it mentions it but it doesn't say how to do it. Since there are no arrow keys is it possible?
  8. I have designer for the iPad. When I use my Apple pencil and try to select/tap objects neither tool works correctly I think. I have to "drag" with my move tool to select object and then select the node tool in order to select nodes. Neither of them work by tapping the object. Is this how it works or am I doing something wrong.
  9. Has hiding the selection line been asked about before? I used this a lot in PS and it was very helpful when tweaking/aligning the image portion to see behind the marching ants. Also, even though I'm impressed with the image adjustment tools, some buttons for moving a single pixel at a time would be useful as well. Thanks
  10. Hello, is there some way to turn the move tool handles to move and rotate the lines back at how they were previous 1.9? I’m a fashion designer and I make my patterns here. I used to create vertical straight vector lines with handles on top so I could set a fixed measurement and then move the origin and pivot it from there. Now I generate lines wit side handles that to me are worthless because I must see were it touch with my reference lines precisely. Also I used to change the origin and it would increase or decrease a measurement starting from there now they only get modified referencing the center unless I go to the panel and set a new origin on the square thingy there, very annoying since it take me out of my work flow every two minutes. I really hope this is fixable with some kind of setting adjustment. Cuz if not this is definitely a bye bye for me.
  11. I have a document (ipad Designer) with numerous groups and layers). When working with the doc, I see objects that I want to edit, but with the MOVE or NODE tool active, I cannot tap the object and make it active. It’s very frustrating because I have to drill through all the layers/groups to activate it through the Layer pane. There’s got to be a way to activate it through a direct selection. Am I missing something? Thanks
  12. Hey, I am sometimes baffled by some fundamental interaction flaws in Affinity. I think that having the export persona was a bad design decision. I have a problem I cannot figure out a solution to: I simply want to move a graphic and a slice together. Impossible. You can either move the whole graphic or the slice but you have no way to select a graphic and its slice together. Try to resize a document: All your slices will stay in their absolute position forcing you to reslice everything! Please fix as soon as possible and get rid of the export persona completely. Just do what Sketch does. So much easier.
  13. In Affinity Photo, if I move the pixel, its edge will become smoothed out. (I always draw with brush with 85% hardness above) Regardless it is select all pixel in a layer then move; or select a portion of a layer with selection tool then move, the hardness of the pixel become very soft. Is this a feature? Or simply the pixel too low? lol
  14. Hi guys, so I have been using the Affinity studio bundle for a year now, almost completely migrated from the Adobe products. Anyway, there are a few things that I miss. 1) For instance, is there a way to move document pages/spreads via some kind of a command/tool (move pages 10–15 before/after page 128)? It is quite annoying to drag them in the panel, especially in the extensive document. 2) Being not able to minimize the studio is also a pain. 3) Is there a way to scale an object, text frame etc. by % value? Did not find any tool for this, and I consider it as a basic feature. Sorry for the grammar (I am not a native speaker.) 15. Designer 1.8.5.703 on Windows 10 Home. If you watch the video you can see that: 1. Moving the Transform Origin seems to be fine except when the layer is also moved (maybe because snapping is ‘revoked’?); 2. There are redraw issues when the user presses and releases the right mouse button while moving the Transform Origin. Note: I looked for other reports but couldn’t find any that mentioned these issues. Apologies if this is a duplicate. 2020-08-30 12-49-26.mp4
  16. When clicking blank area, selected layer will be deselected. This makes people confused. I know this behavior is inherited from Designer which is similar to Illustrator or DrawPlus. But would be nice if you could add an option not to deselect on clicking blank area. So former Photoashop/PhotoPlus users will be comfortable.
  17. Is it possible to move a object toward rotated angle with Transform panel? (Without reverting back rotation once)
  18. Would be nice if I could move a object toward rotated angle by numeric input on Transform panel. E.g. activating the option when Alignment Handle is enabled.
  19. Hi there. Not sure if someone else noticed it before. My nudge distance is set to 1 pixel but this doesn't work as it should do. I'm getting decimal values all the time which is very disappointing. Is this a bug or I'm the only person who is experiencing this? Looking forward to your opinion friends.
  20. OK, so this is driving me crazy as hell. I use transform panel all the time. And I would expect that when I press Escape key I will return to the workspace. But no - the cursor stays in the field of Transform panel and I have to either click inside the working space to get away. Too cumbersome and strange behaviour. For example I need to change the size of an object - I go to Transform Panel, change the size and then I want to move the object around using keyboard. So after pressing Escape I should be able to go on, but the cursor is still within the transform panel and when I click on keyboard arrows to move the object, its size changes instead... I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, I hope so. Maybe I can set up this Escape shortcut - but I don't know where exactly... If you can help I will much appreciate it. Thank you.
  21. I have a problem with selecting vector objects in Designer via the Move or Node tool. That is, if I find it difficult to select by clicking on an object. Sometimes it works, others it just doesn't and others yet the selection happens with the tool slightly offset to the object (i.e. by pointing the tool a little away from the object, which can be quite confusing when there are lots of shapes). More often than I'd like, I have to scroll to the layer in the Layer Panel just to go to a desired object. I use a Macbook Pro (still on Mojave) and a Wacom Inutos Pro (no mouse, but the problem stays even if I try to use the Macbook's trackpad).
  22. I’ve just tried to edit some text pasted in from LibreOffice Writer (paste as plain text), and when I type, the editor moves the text cursor to the end of the line. See my attached GIF where I try a few times in different ways and it seems to move the cursor when I press SPACE. Not a massive problem but unexpected.
  23. Hello, I have two lines. From the first, I move point A with the node tool to position B. Now, I want to move the point A from a second line with the same values. How can I do this?
  24. I know, I can move by typing x or y plus …, but if possible, it would be great I can do this in the Transformation Menu like this ...
