  3. Hello everyone. This is my first Affinity Forums post and I'm excited to be a part of the community... I'm wondering if there is an ETA as to when Affinity Photo (both Desktop and iPad versions) will support the RAW format for the newly announced Canon EOS R mirrorless camera? Yesterday's announcement from Canon has many people excited for the new R system (including me!) and I'd love to easily bring this new camera and lenses into my workflow with Affinity Photo. Also, will there be lens correction available for the new RF series lenses? These lenses look to be quite impressive from an optical quality perspective, but support for them would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any information you could provide on this.
  4. Hi, Newbie question here. I'm using the Lens correction in the Develop persona, for a wide angle lens. With the default settings, the corners gets cropped. I would like to retain the corners, even if it means missing pixels in the center of the edges due to the distortion. Where can I disable the automatic cropping? Cheers, Hendrik
  5. If the photo has all four corners bright, and the vignetting becomes evenly dimmed, the automatic correction is successful. However, if some corners are dark, the automatic correction is unsuccessful - it causes unnatural lightening of the dark corners, and must be turned off. Like this Therefore, it would be advisable to allow adjustment of the correction intensity in individual corners.
  6. Hi, i was wondering where can i find Lens Correction profiles for certain lenses, similar to in photoshop, if im shooting with a 50mm canon 1.8 , i can select it to correct certain distortions, i see you can manually correct it but it would be nice if i can select a profile
  7. Hello in the use of the software and more precisely using the assistant in the phase of correction of distortion of the lens, I realized that it is applied only during the phase of saving the file, so it is impossible to verify if the automatic correction has been applied in a way corrected or if other manuscripts are needed. Moreover, the correction works only with RAW files, but using a Sigma camera and not using RAW files on Affinity but starting from JPEG files previously developed with the proprietary software of SIGMA, I do not have the possibility to use this feature, although it is usable with other software that exploit the lensfun library. I therefore ask if there is a way to use it also on Affinity starting from JPEG files or possibly being implemented in the next version of the software. Thank you Lorenzo
  8. Is there some reason why automatic lens distortion corrections that are applied to a single RAW file when the assistant is so configured, are not applied to RAW files that participate in File | New HDR merge... ? It would seem to be one of the more evident things to do. Now I find myself having to remove pin cushion and barrel distortion in a separate step. I am running ver. 1.6.7 on a Mac.
  9. Hi just wondering if there are any plans to support DJI drone cameras Lens correction... mainly Mavic Air would be great if Affinity Photo could do the Lens correction and stitch panorama’s properly from DJI drones.
  10. Hi all, I consider to switch to Affinity Photo but I would need the support for the raw file generated by the new Sony RX100 M6 and also lens correction for this camera. Will it be supported in the near future? Thanks. PHH
  11. I'm evaluating Affinity Photo in a work flow that uses DxO PhotoLab to apply lens as well as basic colour & exposure corrections. When I export from DxO into Affinity, photos look significantly different. Is there something I'm overlooking? Can someone please suggest how I can carry forward all of the work done in DxO before I begin more detailed work in Affinity Photo? Thanks.
  12. From my understanding, there are a vast number of lenses that are capable of being automatically corrected in raw processing, however, a large number of these lenses are either manual or legacy glass which are not automatically identified. Instead of going through the hassle of adding exif data (which has still not worked in my experience), could a simple drop down be added to manually select these lenses and the corresponding corrections?
  13. Please help me out. I would like to know if it is possible to make a lens correction to multiple photos at once by batch process? If it possible, how does it happen in Affinity Photo? It seems like an awful slow process done one by one. Or is there another convenient way to do this? Thank you!
  14. Hello, I miss option to move/shift image in lens correction options of develop persona. When I fix rotation and vertical or horizontal distortions, I want to scale image up as less as possible to remove empty areas caused by corrections. And when I scale the image, it can't be moved relative to canvas. Something like shift-x, shift-y would be nice to have. Miro
  15. In the Mac version, lens correction is not applying for the Sony RX100 III. I have confirmed it is in the list of supported cameras and lenses. I can also confirm that the function works for other lense and camera combinations.
  16. Hi Photo Team, an important feature for me is the lens correction for the camera Panasonic FZ1000 (RW2), especially since this has worked in version 1.5.2.69 (see picture). With conversion to version 1.6.1.93 this did not work then and the beta does not work either. So any change must have happened on your part, that is so. If you could bring them back up please, z.b. the old correction file is also available via PM. I had already complained several times, but received no answers from Serif. I just want it to work again !!! Help please. Excuse my bad English
  17. I have Samyang 7.5mm MFT lens. Before buying affinity photo I specifically made sure the lens is supported. Now one thing to point out is that this lens generally doesn't have electronic contacts so its usage will not be listed in the EXIF data. I haven't found a way to set the lens in the software and given your post it doesn't seem possible and there isn't even a plan to make it possible. Can you please explain how you are claiming the lens as supported if I'm not able to set it manually given that this lens will never show up in the exif data due to its lack of electronic contacts? Is there a way to get this to work?
  18. When importing RW2 files from my Panasonic DMC-FZ300 into Affinity Photo on my iMac (OSX 10.13.1) no automatic correction is applied by the Develop Assistant using the RAW Engine: Serif Labs setting. The other RAW Engine setting available is Apple (Core Image RAW). When that setting is chosen the Apply lens corrections and Apply color reduction fields are grayed out and no correction is performed. Apple clearly know how to correct my RW2 files since the Apple Preview app does it. How can I get Affinity Photo to use the Apple (Core Image RAW) correction? I'm new here and don't know if saying Thanks is appropriate, but thanks for any help.
  19. Please allow the user to manually choose the manufacturer and lens model as Adobe does in Adobe Camera Raw. This lets the photographer select the correct lens in the lens correction database when the photographer uses a completely manual lens for which the RAW file will not have the data for manufacturer, lens model, f/stop etc. Similarly, when using electronic lens adapters such as the Metabones adapter for Canon EOS lenses on Sony alpha series mirrorless cameras bodies (e.g. a7r2), the Raw file EXIF data has the wrong manufacture and lens model because the electronic adapter must make the Canon lens appear to be a Sony lens model of the same focal length and f/stop. For example, if the widely used Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM is attached via a Metabones adapter to a Sony a7r2 body, the EXIF data records the lens as a Sony "24-70mm F2.8 G SSM II". The other EXIF data for focal length the zoom was at and exposure f/stop are correct. In Adobe Camera Raw's lens corrections, I can simply select the Lens Profile Correction for the "Canon EOS 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM" and have the proper lens corrections applied. Similarly, if I use a Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 completely manual, no electronics, lens on a Sony a7r2 body, I can select that Lens Profile Correction in Adobe Camera Raw despite the lack of any EXIF lens data in the Raw file. At present, the only way to have Affinity Photo Develop apply the correct LensFun database corrections is to use ExifTool and change the data in the Raw file before Affinity opens the file. This is both time-consuming and I would rather not tamper with a proprietary Raw file format. Thank you.
  20. there is no problem if looking the raw picture with windows 10 or lightroom or if affinity open it in jpeg. But when affinity open raw pictures, corners are whiter and purple appear. it's get worse if the iso is higher. This problem is obvious about iso 400 and more. The effect decrease if i zoom. lens correction don't work

hi, it appears that lens correction for my nikon RAW file (lens: nikkor 50 mm 1.8 af-s) don't work… there's no difference with or without it's turned on in assistant.
  22. How does AP (or any photo editor I suppose) avoid applying lens correction twice? Or three times or.... Is there a flag somewhere that indicates that correction has been applied so keep your mitts off or does it rely on me remembering? Just in case you're struggling with how this might happen, I may edit a photo, save it and continue later, possibly even much later, or a photo may be passed acrross from Another Photo Editor complete with correction applied. i know there's a tick box for manual control but my computer has a better memory than I do. Thanks, John
  23. I use a Sony a7R camera with a Metabones adaptor so that I can use my collection of Canon EF lenses. Because of this the EXIF data in my RAW images does not correctly identify the lens used. In other RAW editors I am able to manually select the lens manufacturer and model from a list and then apply the proper correction. Is there any way to do the same thing in Affinity Photo? If not, are there plans to add this capability? Thanks. Ken Ramey
  24. Does this feature only support the embedded lens profiles from Micro 4/3 cameras? Or did you build your own database of lenses manually? This is the first thing I tried when I updated, but none of the lenses for my Sony A6000 seem to be supported. The Sony NEX/E mount cameras also embed lens correction profiles.
  25. Hi, After reading through some threads in the bugs forum, I learned why there is no automatic lens correction for my Canon Powershot G7 X MarkII - it is not part of the lensfun database. Obviously, since this database has last been updated in 2015. I'd appreciate it if there where other ways to provide for lens correction (direct contact with the lens/camera manufacturer?). Right now, I'd either have to manually correct every single raw image for lens distortion or use the somewhat ugly development software provided by Canon. A better solution would be appreciated.
