  1. I use a layer group, with one black layer covering the whole image and one smaller white rectangle with gaussian blur, with multiply on the layer group to create a vignette. I have found that this causes Photo to run high CPU and become unusable and I have to close the program. This happens on multiple photographs but if I repeat on a new blank image it appears to work. I suspect it is something to do with the fact I have a photo which of course has multiple colours and the gaussian blur with the multiply option on the group, because if I don't have the gaussian blur it appears to work ok. It can happen as soon as I create the layer group, or sometimes it is when I adjust the size of the inner rectangle (the one with the blur). This problem happens every time I try this. This worked perfectly before upgrading to 1.9.0.932.
  2. Trying to create a group of layers used for identification of athlete, location & date in sports pictures. Didn't find solutions to my problem in the forums. Got the team logo as a layer, athlete name + location + date on another layer, photographer's name on the last layer. Want to create a group of layers I can copy in that file, then paste the group of layers in the picture file as info. When I drag a text layer under the team's logo pixel layer to make it it's child layer, the layer disappears even if it does not overlap it. If I try the reverse and drag the pixel layer under the text layer to make it it's child layer, the pixel layer disappears. How can I group those 3 layers to copy them into another file that has only one picture (pixel) layer and see all the content? I must be able to move/resize all the pasted layers, and change the edit the text layers to show the athlete's name. I am also open to suggestions on other ways to make this process easier. Screen shot of my working setup below. Thank you for your support.
