  1. Oh I miss the knife tool or scissors so much. So I draw a simple vertical line with the pen tool. How can I cut out a portion so that I end up with two parts a a tiny space between them?
  2. Hello! I'm attempting to remove lines and shapes underneath a complex shape but having trouble doing this. I've been attempting to use the "Divide" command to remove the overlapping segments and then delete those. Which is a bit time consuming and I run into problems because "Divide" will close incomplete line segments, which creates weird shapes. Images: 1-3 illustrate what I'm trying to do: Remove everything intersecting in the grey shape but keep the rest. 4th image is my actual artwork which gets complex so I need to do this efficiently. It also needs to be fully removed (not hidden) because it's on the way to a laser cutter. 5th image is what happens when I "Divide". As you can see the v line segment on the top left closes into a shape. And the bottom line looses a section. Thanks for your help!
  3. Am I overlooking something? I can't find a way to delete a point from a path that also deletes the line segment it's on. ex.: delete the half from a circle to get an open path representing a half circle (that is not closed). In AI you can direct-select a point and delete it, resulting in an open path - or select a line segment between two points and delete it, also resulting in an open path.
  4. For my tutorial Affinity Designer User requests Cut line - Overprint I needed this cutter knife for the intro.
  5. Until a knife or cut tool comes along, I would love to see a delete node, as in gone feature. Instead of deleting the node and leaving the path closed as is currently, deleting the node and it breaks a hole in the path as far as the next two nodes are located. Could be with a modifier key... shift delete or option/alt delete. Sure would save a bunch of time. Current setup breaking the path route is cumbersome and leaves 2 nodes on top of each other, which you need to select and then delete, often selecting the wrong one...
  6. Bought, and really like this software - spent all weekend with tutorials. Just can't get past omission of these tools found in decade-old Freehand 11. I see some in the 2014 roadmap...back to my old mac and hope for an update in 2017!
