  1. Good Sunday everybody. I need help since I cannot get through a shape cut in my current job. I made a bitmap to vector conversion with InkScape. I am in the need of creating various layers starting from the big shape created by the conversion process so I'll be able to modify them easily. I made a screenrecording. Thank you in advance. 2. Hello, ...yes, i’m just another guy asking for features… But i’m just trying to help to make AD better. Please consider to implement asap this tools in Designer because: - Knife tool: It’s not possible to cut groups in a fast way. (yes we can perform compound operations but only on one object at a time...) - Links: It’s a must for all the designers since most of the time we work with images in low resolution (to be fast and light) and for the final work we replace the pictures in the link folder for Hi resolution ones. - Roughen effect on a VECTORIAL line (Smith, hard, regular, irregular). this is soo needed!!! (Also, if possible, (like in old FreeHand: Fisheye, fractalize…) - Blend tool……. (Waited and promissed for so long) - 3D perspective. (Yes we have now the isometric grid, but as it says, it’s isometric, doesn’t have perspective). And related: - VECTORIAL “envelop” distortions. (at least, if we already had this tool, we could import a 3D grid (from a 3D software, blender for example) and adjust the perspective... - Option to remove one guide directly hitting the delete key because: We designers like to use big artboards and lots of sketches inside the artboard. It’s not practical to zoom out every time we want to remove a guide!… And, if not asking too much, the possibility to create a guide after a vectorial object (Like FreeHand used to do). And, the possibility to lean the guides (like in corel). Thanks! Please, let's make this software a really alternative to illustrator! Because at the moment it’s not. I still need illustrator to perform this tasks above. Thank you for your time, Best regards, Jorge
  3. I'm a recent user of Affinity Photo and I'd like to submit and place in my vote for an automatic knife or slicing tool. Basically, I'd like an ability for an inverse panoramic stitching. For example, in Photoshop, I can use the Knife Tool for the following working example: 2160 x 1350 Pixels Using PS's Knife tool, I can right-click and slice up the image into (2) pieces of equal 1080 x 1350 images. Finally, using PS's "Save for Web," I can automatically export this onto my Desktop and upload to my Instagram to create the seamless panoramic diptych. In Affinity Photo, I have to manually slice and position. Please see the screenshot. With some simple math for perfect alignment and drag/drop. It's doable, but takes some effort and manual work. In an imaginative working scenario, I'd like AP an option to automatically create slices. In the screenshot, example, remember that my image is already sized 2160 x 1350 pixels for seamless panorama on Instagram's album post. I would simply enter 1 row and 2 columns for the automatic slicing to take effect. These slices are perfect and equi-sized 1080 x 1350. When uploading on Instagram's album post—as an example—I'm able to create a perfect, seamless diptych panorama. I do believe that this request for automation is practical tool and usage scenario. This automation is essentially and inverse of the AP's panoramic function. Starting with a image sized at X by Y dimensions and breaking or slicing into equi-sized P rows and Q columns. Another Usage Example: Instagram Giant Squares or Instagram Grid Art Let's suppose that I want to create an Instagram grid art comprising of 12 tiles at 3 squares horizontal and 4 squares vertical, e.g. [4 3] matrix. Each Instagram square will be 1080 x 1080 pixels. Therefore, the starting image has to be 3240 x 4320. You can imagine that the current slicing tool in AP will require work (and time). Manually creating 1080 x 1080 slices and using drag/drop for alignment or using the transform with some simple math for perfect alignment of the slices. Thank you for considering my feature request. 4. Hi, I saw a video on Youtube about a work around to "scissor off" a part of a picture in AD (similar to using the knife tool in DrawPlus), but the video was too fast for me to follow hos to do it. It appeared that you could draw a curve a cross a shape and the use deivide operations to cut it into two independent shapes. But when I attempt to do that, the program invariably closes the corve I draw which deforms the cutting in an undesirable way. Can somenone explain to me how to do it?Thanking you in advance, Örjan
  5. I am VERY interested in a tool for Affinity Designer that would work the same as the 'Knife" tool in Adobe Illustrator. That is, it would separate and trim complex vector designs. So, for instance, a vector circle could be divided into two vector half circles, both half circles being complete but separate vector objects. So if you needed to trim 100 circles all into half circles, then you could do it all at once, and very quickly. Currently, this ability does not exist in AD, so I have to manually trim all the various vector objects at the edge of a vector drawing. If this is available in AD 1.6 please let me know. If it is coming up, that would be great to know and look forward to as well. Thanks, Rick
