  1. After much consideration I've decided to invest in a portable tablet so that I'm no longer tethered to my Workstation at home and can double my output of designs by working on the go. I currently use an Artisul D13 tablet and it's been good to me, but I've recently tried my friends iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil and it completely blows mine out of the water. It's highly responsive with no lag, pressure sensitivity was off the charts, and there was no parallax which completely blew my mind! I went to Best Buy to purchase one and stumbled upon the MS Surface Book 2 on display so I checked it out. Now I'm conflicted because the Surface Pen is just as impressive as the Apple Pencil! The fact that the Surface Book 2 also doubles as a laptop and runs Windows 10 is a huge plus, but I need to inquire about a few things before I make such an investment. 1) Designer is the main app I use for my illustrations so I was wondering when it's coming to the iPad Pro or if there's some type of beta I can use until the full release. 2) If I get the Surface Book 2 am I allowed to install the same Designer & Photo I have on my PC or do I need a different License? 3) I know Photo is optimized very well on the iPad Pro so is it safe to assume that the same could be said for all versions of the Surface Book 2? 4) Let's say I get the Surface Book 2 with the i7 CPU, GTX 1060 GPU, and 16gb of Ram; Are there any type of performance benefits to having all the extra memory and computing power? If so what are they? Sorry for the long post and please feel free to comment. All opinions are welcome specially if you have an iPad Pro or the Surface Book 2.
  2. Hello everyone, I’m a beginner photographer and I got some problems using this app. I transferred my raw photos taken on my old trusty 6D to my iPad Pro (iOS 11) and the original iPad photo app is showing a huge difference compared to the imported image in Affinity photo. I think the problem is because I set my camera to increase sharpness & saturation however the raw file didn’t reveal those modifications done by my camera. I have tried to adjust HSL, Curve, exposure and so many things but I just can’t get the color right. I really want that color, that feeling shown in my camera as well as in the origional iPad photo app. Is there any solution such as adding the preset or something? Thank you so much for the help! As seen below, the raw image is so fade out because of the exposure issue. After adjustment I can get some pinkish color but definitely not this darken red color.
  3. I’m on iOS 11.1 on iPad Pro 10.5. Not sure if I should update to 11.2.6, b/c of all of the reported issues. There seem to be some pretty dramatic screw-ups in that update. But the App Store won’t let me purchase or download Affinity unless I’m on 11.2.6. Is there a way for me to download an older version for iPad that’ll work on 11.1? I’m really interested in this app! Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi! I have an iPad Pro 10.1 256 GB with last version of AP. I’ve imported 67 pics taken with my DSLR in photo app, then import to AP. Dev RAW editor cannot finish the develop and the app instantly crash. I’ve tried with an hard reset, but it has the same problems.
  5. I am VERY interested in a serious version of Affinity Designer that would be functional (advanced functional) on the iPad Pro. The iPad pro is great, but there are few serious programs for it other than Affinity Photos, which I have. Many of the design programs are very Lite. But I really need to do serious design work on my iPad pro and hope that Affinity Designer has a future on the iPad Pro platform. Thanks, Rick
  6. Hi, What typical save times are we looking at for the various export options? I'm currently exporting out a PSD at 530mb approx and it's taking ages! I understand it'll vary depending on file size/amount of information, but this does seem really quite slow? Are many people bouncing work between the desktop and iPad? Best, Nick
  7. Hi, I have just tried Affinity Photo and am quite impressed, it seems much easier than photoshop. My question is: do I need multiple purchases or will one purchase of Affinity do all my devices? Regards JJPKB

  9. What is the game about: A powerful crystal and a map to a location of 8 objects are needed to stop the Sigma from taking control of the system, Beyond Horizon is a side-scroller platformer with a top-down space travel and combat. Join Aito and his team as he travels space and explores planets and build a life in this story-driven game, all this is just beyond the horizon. About the Project: Beyond Horizon is a small project I've been working on for a couple of years now, starting off as a 2d pixel art game before moving into this mixture of vector and semi-realistic textures that I started to play around with while working on an illustrated calendar. I'm currently working on this project solo so production on the game has been slow (along with changing a lot of things required to re-start from the ground up) and I felt like I should start sharing the project. WIP: Below are some screenshots and videos from my work in progress of the game. 10. Is it possible to install or import the Affinity Photo styles that I downloaded from the Internet? I’m working on an iPad Pro, iOS 11. thanks, bkabstract
  11. I have both an iPad and an iPad Pro. On the iPad I can still Place images from Dropbox exactly as they should be. And until tonight, I could do the same on the iPad Pro. Now the Placed image is coming in cropped (like a square cut out of the full image) and magnified...sometimes magnified to point of pixelation. I checked that the Preferences are the same on both. I may have altered something but I don't know what...any suggestions? Thanks Attached: After Placing the cluster of yellow and red tulips on background (single tulip), it looked like the green leaves and is the same size as the layer below.
  12. Hey! So I've been using Affinity Photo on my iPad Pro 12.9 second gen for 2 days now. The first day I only did some sketches to test all the brushes and settings and the second day I wanted to do a new concept art piece on it. Within my workflow I tend to make masks with the Polygon pen tool and then paint over those. At first everything went great and I was really enjoying the hell out of this awesome piece of software but then the crashes started to happen. Every time I tried to make a Polygon selection, mid way putting the points down (~5 points) it would crash. I tried quitting the app, reopen it, reboot the device but nothing worked. I even tried to lower the resolution of 3000x1800 to something smaller but then it crashed while resizing. At this point I was only ~7 layers deep, and unable to continue to work in this document. I exported it and continued in Procreate, which bums me out because I really need the advanced tools that Affinity photo offers. I hope I gave you enough information about the bug, if you need anything else, please let me know. Please guys, I really need this amazing software! Cheers, Mike
  13. Keyboard Short Cuts for IPad pro Only a day into Affinity Photo, so if i not seen the answer apologies. The Question simple, short cuts from blue tooth keyboard in Affinity can this be done ? On iPad Pro. Like say cmd key helped down on keyboard, browser options are now shown. Regards Rob
  14. Small icons and color combo on the iPad pro user interface are difficult for visually impaired. Difficult to see gray on gray or black. The colors on the Mac interface are great! This would be a great improvement. Thanks!
  15. Hello Every one! I am new here and I am planning to buy an iPad pro 12.9. And I have questions for you about Affinty designer for iPad pro: Is it a full version? Can I make some official Curses for it or Affinty photo by using iPad pro 12.9? Thank you so much, Ghaeth
  16. I can't seem to figure out the exact reason for this, but when I have my palm resting on the ipad pro screen and I am making a gesture or using a tool somehow the color picker is activated and then it freezes on screen and stays there. Even if I close the document and go back in it is still there in that exact spot. I can still activate the color picker again but that frozen "circle image" of the color picker remains. Also, if I go out of the document and go into another document the "circle image" of the color picker is there too in the same spot. The only way to get rid of it is to quit out of the app and reopen. See attached screen capture.
  17. So far I had only used AP for photo editing on my iPad Pro, but finally got around to draw and paint in it yesterday, and I was enthusiastic! This was as close to draw on paper as one can get on a screen, I thought. Better than Procreate even, which I’ve been using for my daily work since I bought the iPad Pro when it first came out - but I was disappointed today and had to give up on it and shared the drawing I had started with Procreate and finished it there. What went wrong? Well, it started to lag. The line was dragging several millimetres behind the tip of Pencil and it made it impossible to draw with quick strokes as is my manner. There is still plenty of space on the iPad, more than 80 gb out of 128 and the drawing wasn’t that large, either. So, anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? I’ll attach a short screen recording which shows what happens. ADFC4E31-3A27-4ED0-97C2-A065AF00998F.MP4 The screen recording didn’t play on my iPad at least so I attach a screenshot, too.
  18. Hi, i’m using an iPad Pro 12.9” and iOS 11 the most recent version, plus the most recent version of Affinity Photo. i’ve noticed That when I use the Patch Tool or the Healing brush tool do more than just their usual duty and also slightly blur the part of the image I use them to paint over. It kind of kills the detail of the picture. Am I doing something wrong? Is there a setting that effects this? often times I use the frequency separation filter and when I do, my hope is that the high frequency layer will remain in clear detail, but the Healing brush or and patch Tool just blur everything...
  19. I created a document in the Affinity Photo app on my iPad Pro. I then saved a copy to my Dropbox. I then tried to open the document in Affinity Photo for the Desktop and I get a message that says "Failed to open document...The file includes features from a later version of Affinity." I was gearing up to use this for my next client project but now am unwilling to take the risk.
  20. Hey everybody, This is my first post on this forum so hello haha. now for the problem.... When i have a RAW image (it also does it with jpeg btw) that i am editing in Affinity Photo on the iPad Pro (IOS11) and i add the filter “Depth of Field” it works like a charm, but when i click on ✔️ to accept the effect on the layer, it just keeps on loading and loading... I let the loading screen on for 45 min LOL, so i can only say that affinity crashes when using the depth of field blur effect. What i have tried to fix it: - Uninstalled the app en reinstalled it: Nothing changed. - with only one layer (no other editing done): Nothing changed, same problem - Took different pictures to try: Nothing changed. So i come to the conclussion that it really is a bug that needs to be fixed soon. So that was problem 1, then i also have another things: - I am right handed, so when i use my pensil why is the undo button on the left corner? This is really enoying because i always have to get out of the working flow because i have to take away the pensil from the screen to undo. I think it would be wise to have multi touch like: two vingers tab = undo, three vingers tab = redo. - When i am traveling i always have a wireless external harddrive with me but i cannot save anything on there with affinity, opening yes but saving it to my drive no,... WHY?! I tried: WD Wireless Pro, Seagate wireless, Lacie Fuel not one of them worked to save my affinity files on. Yes, i know you can save it to the cloud, but when i am for example in Cuba for a job i don’t have internet.... In my eyes this is really a huge, epic fail and problem with Affinity Photo. This could be the photoshop killer for me but without this saving option it’s just another app and not a professional workspace. Is this changing in the nearby future? Are you guys going to fix this in an upcoming update? I really hope so because i would love to step over to Affinity in my professional work. - The patch tool, works sometimes but sometimes it’s very glitchy. When i select the part i want to change and i drag the pensil to place that i want it to take, it takes most of the time a completely different part on the image... uhhhh haha This makes the patch tool almost unusable and very unrealiable. - Multi-touch with your fingers I already said it somewhere but i think this is really a great and a huge miss. To touch with two finger the screen for let’s say a undo action would change alot for the better, take procreate 4 for example, they killed it with there multitouch and it works like a charm. - Saving options Yes this for me is really the most important part that needs to change and i ask you developers, Fix this please, because without the saving option to a wireless external hardrive, Affinity Photo is just another app and not a professional workspace. So i think this was it, i have to say after all the problems that i named i also need to say that i really love the program and i think that it has great and epic potential. I hope you guys have some answers for me and i think a lot of other people have the same questions and problems. Thank you guys for making this software available to us all, now let make it the best app in the world!! Warm greetings, Glenn
  21. Hi guys love love the software.... But can you allow an edit from Lightroom to open in affinity then go back to LR?
  22. Hello dear Affinity-Team, I really want to thank you for making such a great iOS app. It’s so much fun to edit and create images. However I got some major problems with the raw development. I know that the app is not comparable to any desktop raw development and is not meant to be one. However the raw development was advertised as feature. Unfortunately it is completely useless for me when I try to edit 25MB RAW files from my SONY A6300 on my iPad Pro. But I think Affinity Photo should at least hold up with a free iOS app called „VSCO“. Look at the two pictures I attached, I didn’t pay attention for reducing highlights or any other feature except recovering shadows. created with „VSCO“ increasing the shadows by 100 % created with Affinity Photo increasing shadows by 100% It is quite obvious that Affinity Photo looses all Details in the shadows. Why is that, if a free iOS app can do better (however I don’t like the app at all and love affinity photo)? Am I doing something wrong? I would love to be able to recommend affinity photos for raw development, but as of know it’s simply too bad for that, shadows just being an extreme example for minor quality results in the raw development of affinity photo. I hope that the problem gets fixed soon! And again: I’m not comparing it to a professional desktop application. I think affinity photo could do a lot better! Kind regards, David B.
  23. Hello, I've noticed that when you click a history point, if you so much as brush your finger over the screen while, for example, you were using the burn brush, you immediately lose EVERYTHING after that point - presumably forking to a new history. Please, please put a prompt in like "Do you want to continue with a new history?" Or something. Or allow an easy way to go back to the old history fork. Maybe in the upcoming release? let me know if there is a different workaround or if I'm missing something. Much appreciated, Brian
  24. Hi! I need some advice on colour management on iPad Pro using AP since the colours on my exported photos look different on my desktop (calibrated iMac with sRGB). The colour settings in AP I have left on sRGB. I turn off True tone and Night shift before working in AP. Obviously I need to calibrate my iPad display, I have mailed Datacolor since their app Spydergallery is gone from App store. That might fix my problem but I am not sure. My question is, since I have a display with the new P3 profile, should I not use that as default profile and export the images as sRGB? Regardless of the setting being sRGB in AP it is very easy to see that orange and reds are enhance on my iPad compared to the desktop. So I'm confused. I would be very happy for som advice, it is of course imperative that exported images look the same or as similar as possible. Thanks!
  25. Selection Glitch App Crash -Open file -Go to Selection Persona -Use Polygon Marquee Tool in Freehand Mode -On the tool options at the bottom right of the screen, touch the icon of the brush with the thick blue line. -This series of steps crashes Affinity Photo. iPad Pro 2 generation, iOS 10.3.3, Affinity Photo ver. 1.6.4 I have attached a video of this happening and attached it to this post to illustrate.
