  1. When I try to import a .CR3 file from my Canon 90D to Affinity Photo for iPad, I get the following error ... "Failed to open file .... The file type is not supported". Any ideas on the solution and/or work around until this is supported?? Cheers
  2. Hello everyone! I've purchased and downloaded from the Affinity Store the following brushes: Blast Powder Brushes by Ian Barnard DAUB® Watercolours & Washes which are supposed to be compatible with both Affinity Photo and Designer. They appear in Affinity Photo but NOT in Designer. I go to Brushes > Import Brushes and choose the right files. A window then appears, saying the "Brushes imported successfully". I've done this more than once and every time a number is added at the end of the brush-set name like it already exists and is being added more that once. In the image I attach you can see the 6 in the end meaning I tried 6 times to add the specific brush set but it is still not showing up in my Brushes. Is anyone facing the same problem? Thanks in advance!
  3. Hello, We as a team work simultaneously on one project. Therefor we all work in our own documents and then import the our finished pages into one final document. Coming from indesign this wasn't a problem. But how do we manage this in Affinity Publisher? Gr. Eric
  4. Having major issues, importing .ps and .eps files, ai imports them like eps with editable curves, ad, imports them as lines. Also with some of the eps files seems to just make them as a .jpg. The eps file is from freepik, and it does work in illustrator as something editable. 10629.eps P171.PS
  5. I imported a file from my photos folder into Publisher and everything was fine. Printed it all out, worked great. When I went back to the Publisher file today it look extremely pixelated. Can someone help me as to what is going on? I didn't move then image in the Finder (if that even makes any difference.)
  6. While waiting for Publisher I have been editing a book with text and photos in Blurb's Bookwright programme. When Publisher arrives, will I be able to export my book in Pdf form from Bookwright, open it in Publisher and continue to edit it (I am far from finished...)?
  7. Is there a smooth way of importing existing Publisher files developed under Beta to the new Published version please? Currently when I open a file developed under Beta the formatting is awry and the master pages don't come through ... Thanks
  8. Good evening, new to AD for iPad Pro as of this week and I’m running into a wee problem. I purchased the Vector Brush Toolbox from Retro Supply Co, and I’m having issues trying to import the brushes after opening the purchased files. When I go to import in the Brushes Panel, the brushes are greyed out and I can’t install. Is there a compatibility issue? Thanks.

    Importing Brushes

So I’ve tried searching the forum and I can’t find anything (at least to the best of my ability) on this, yet I see a lot about this online. I’m trying to import brushes in AP and they show up as a gray file no matter what I do on iPad Pro. It’s driving me crazy. Everything is unzipped and it’s an .abr file. What am I doing wrong?!
  10. Hi, I'm new to Affinity Photo for Desktop (also have iPad version, but barely used it yet). I imported file containing .abr brushes successfully,, but after importing the second & third batch, they didn't show up in AP. Why? Could it be that they are Vector brushes & not Pixel brushes, or is there another problem? After "Import> select> Open" 'AP' did said that they were "successfully imported", but they're not visible. Also, If I want to keep different brush packs separate, or have similar types of brushes grouped together, should i create a new category first & then while that category is 'open', add new brushes to it? Apologies if this has been asked and answered somewhere before. I did some searching, but didn't find what I was looking for.

    [Duplicate] Text

I'm using a Mac OS 10.9.5 but couldn't import text because in the Text Column the choice Import Text from File doesn't exist. I had to do a Copy/Paste to bring in text from another document. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Frank B
  12. I'm trying Affinity Publisher Beta 1.7.0.227 on a Mac using OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks) and the Import Text from File is not in the Text drop down menu so I can't import text from other documents. I tried using File Place with the cursor in the Text Box but all my documents were "greyed" and clicking on them doesn't work. The Help files from Affinity say to use Import Text from Files in the Text drop down menu so I looked at other drop down menus but the command just doesn't exist. Suggestions? Thanks. Frank
  13. Hi, I searched on the forum and internet before posting but I didn't found anything so... I'm trying to create a brochure on Publisher but I'm making the cover drafts in Designer. I've imported the Designer file on Publisher as image but it shows me only the first page. I cannot shift the content from its container to reveal other pages. Double clicking on the image the Designer file is opened inside a Publisher window but I don't know if there's a way to control the page view from it. Any suggestion? -EDITED 5 minutes after- Sorry for bothered this forum. I've found the menu to manage the multiple pages of a linked Designer file (see the attachment). I already love Publisher. You guys rock! P.s. Let me know if I must delete the post if useless...
  14. I've searched for specific answers but have come up empty handed on how to get styles and application palettes from Designer on the desktop imported to Designer on the iPad. When I attempt to import styles from a cloud stored file, the respective .AFSTLYES file is grayed out. I don't see a way to import application palettes, (or create one from an image or document, which would work also). I know you can access a document palette, but you can't save that to the system palettes so that doesn't work if you want to use that palette on another document. Is there a reason why this isn't possible? Is there some limitation from being on an iPad that keeps these features from being on the roadmap?
  15. Greetings, all. I'm loving Affinity Designer on my iPad. I don't have any experience with Illustrator, but have watched tutorials and thought about looking at it more seriously. Then AD came out and I pounced right away. I'm relatively new to working in vectors outside of some basic stuff with the pen tool in Photoshop, and the whole artboards thing is very new to me. SO! On to my actual question: is there a way to import a layered file into a pre-existing artboard? I have created an artboard to muck around with some business card ideas to promote myself as an artist. I can import an image just fine. Basically, I want to use the logo I created for my website for one side of the card, but I want to have access to the layers to move certain elements around or make adjustments for clarity as it is in a reduced size. I've already been able to download the layered file from the cloud and open it as it's own document in AD just fine. I'm just wondering if there's a means for me to add it in it's layered format onto my business card artboard. Thanks for any forthcoming enlightenment or revelations that what I'm trying to do can't be done! Toby
  16. On my iPad I use Lightroom Mobile as my primary editing program. I would like to use Affinity for some editing but I need to be able to export back to Lightroom Mobile so I can continue to keep Creative Cloud workflow synced. How do I accomplish this?

    Importing styles

Is it possible to install or import the Affinity Photo styles that I downloaded from the Internet? I’m working on an iPad Pro, iOS 11. thanks, bkabstract
  18. I want to import a picture from photos on ipad into Affinity to experiment with. Apart from getting a blank import screen nothing else happens when I press the import from photos button. I assumed it would sync with my photos app. I am not finding Affinity particularly intuitive. I would like to get started on my own project rather than just play with tutorials. When will A book for iPad be available? I have bought the tome that applies to Mac thinking it might be of some use with ipad. Workflow is signficantly different as not to be useful with ipad, unfortunately. Advice would be appreciated.
  19. At present I am wondering what I can do with my new webcam, and how best to take stills with it, when I'm not making video. I'm guessing you can't import straight from a camera into Affinity, so I'm wondering what other people use to get best quality, non-jpg stills from their webcam. As a Mac user, I'm not expecting a miracle (webcams seem to be the least developed part of any Mac setup), but I'm sure there are better options than Photobooth. I'm interested in non-Mac related feedback for future reference. If this question seems obscure, it probably is. It's based on having had a stop motion building section, in a Logitec software we owned when I was a kid. Made a lot of work with that. Combined with how often I use my phone's camera and apps in my projects, it would be cool to have a similar function to my computer layout sometimes too.
  20. Hello, I am using Affinity Photo (AP) 1.6.3 on iPad Pro 12.9" 512Gb (2017) running iOS 10.2.3. My entire photos library of 40000 photos is synced on iCloud. Bug #1: When end trying to import a photo into AP from the Apple Photos app, I notice that a great many photos are not showing up in the import pane. As well, a lot of albums are also not showing up. The missing photos are both jpegs & RAW, which are either original, or edited in the Mac Photos app. Bug #2: The sequence of the albums displayed in the import pane is completely random, it is neither alphabetical, not chronological. I have over a hundred albums in my library and this random sequence makes it extremely frustrating to find an album. I trust these bugs will soon be fixed. In addition to fixing the bugs, if it were possible to have a search field in the import pane, this would make it extremely convenient to find a photo by keyword, or an album by name. (One can search by keywords in the Apple iOS Photos app). Better still, if a photo could be directly imported into AP from the Apple Photos app, this would be best of all! Thanks & regards.
  21. I'm noticing files are not retaining their original name i.e. _DSC1019 etc after importing from the Photos app. They are renamed Untitled in the browser window. To retain the original file name I have to share them from my FileBrowser by Stratospherix Ltd.
  22. I am working on a Mac and when I import a PDF file into Affinity Designer the fonts disappear. I have attached screenshots of the problem. Any help would be great thanks!
  23. I am using affinity version 1.6.4 on the iPad Pro (newest version) I am having trouble with importing raw flies into affinity from either iCloud or google drive. I can access both from affinity but the files are grayed unable to be selected. I'm using a Nikon d750.
  24. Just got Affinity Photo for iPad and the app keeps crashing when I try to import a RAW Fuji X-Pro 1 file. Im importing the RAW photo from the Photos app. It was imported on my computer and then synced across my devices via iCloud. Wondering if something happened along the way? Here is the file in question. FJI17562.RAF
  25. I'm using Capture One Pro 10 (MacOS 10.12.6) for my raw converter. Using the "Edit In..." selection in Capture One allows me to open my files in Affinity Photo and saves the changes back to the PSD or TIFF file created in the process. If I do this with multiple files for stitching, Affinity opens them in tabs, but I can't find anyway to select the open images as the source for stitching. Is there some way to select open files for panos and merges? I can export the files and open them from the selection box but that kind of makes a mess of my workflow. Thanks!
