  1. Hi, AF 1.6.6 Mac Using Focus Stacking In some cases, special, very close macros the first images will be destroyed and the image is not sharp at the bottom. You can see the imported images are not the same as the originals. At the border, bottom and left, the image is destroyed. Same pictures in another stacking program works well. See the screenshot attached.Screenshot APhoto1.pdf
  2. Hello! I'm a Capture One user. I've been exporting tiff files & doing heavy retouching in AP before rounding back to finish color edits/crops/batching in C1p. Then i saw this and I'm wondering if i should: a) switch to PSDs assuming they're "better" b) continue using tif files because they work just fine c) ask you guys why the 2 best Adobe competitors aren't working together on making this workflow C1p-AP-C1p using afphoto files I'm going to be honest. If Serif wastes development funds on pushing a Lightroom competitor into an overcrowded market (rather than a legit asset manager like bridge) I'll be pretty disappointed. I'm sure no one cares. Serif already has >$100 from me & I'll rush the queue to get at that publisher sweetness when it comes either way. But, real innovation & working with industry leaders (as serif has with x-rite) is what I'm looking for.
  3. I have a win 10 machine. I am trying to load about 300 NEF (Nikon RAW ) files into Afinity. Each file size is about 73M. The steps I follow are: File/Open Select all files from the dialog Select "Open " from the dialog. The machine loads between 170 and 210 files then seems to take over all system resources to the extent I don't have mouse or keyboard control. I have to power down/up the machine. Alt/Tab and Ctrl/Alt/Del to stop the program have no effect. Any Ideas as to what I am doing wrong? Thanks.
  4. Hi, i'm new to these forums and the Affinity suite, please forgive me if this has been brought up before, a cursory search did not return relevant posts for me. I'm looking for a way to synchronise presets in the develop persona between computers and Affinity Photo and Affinity Photo Beta. There seems to be no UI for this, but perhaps these presets can be synchronised between preference storage, where are the develop presets stored on macOS?
  5. Hi there, I just purchased affinity and imported RAW (CR2) files but it looks like Affinity doesn't support it. The images displayed on Affinity are pinkish in colour. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Canon 6D Mark II I had recently bought. I wouldn't think it's the SD card because that would save what type of files we select. There's no issues importing jpeg files. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks in advance. Nick
  6. The PDF import system still has issues. Like for example the "dimension" lines and text disappear when importing this for both Designer and Photo. https://s2.hmwallace.com/ul_pdfs/362251_CutoutDimensions.pdf
  7. Hi, I am having trouble with opening RAW files. It seems to have happened after the programme crashed last night (I didn't bother to restart it as it was past my bedtime) For some reason today, when I try to open a raw file, I am getting a weird purple hue. It seems to be taking a lot longer to open them too. I know it's not the files as they are opening ok in both Cannon DPP4 and Faststone. I have been using Affinity Photo for months now and this is the first issue I have had with it. Attaching a quick set of screen shots so you can see what I mean.
  8. It would be good if the programme would allow the user to import directly by using a scanner.
  9. How can I open or import my old Adobe Illustrator files?
  10. I have just acquired an IPad Pro and have hoped to use this as my primary editing device. As most of what I do is along the lines of "Street" there is little that Affinity Photo cannot achieve on the IPad app. That said, I shoot in RAW and would like to store my photos on either my WD NAS system or preferably on my WD My Passport Pro. A typical workflow would be to Download to the MPP using the auto download slot then import the raw file to affinit. On export I would like to export directly to my MPP so that all of my work is available from there. Clearly I would retain the originals on the SDD Card and I have a backup system to my NAS system which I usually access when I am at home As far as I can tell Affinity will not allow me to add the MyCloud app to locations which is central to this issue... Am I missing something here?
  11. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could shed light on the import of Adobe Illustrator files (.ai) into either Affinity Photo, or Designer. Upon opening an .ai file you are presented with a window. The window is titled "PDF Options". First up, I'm not importing a PDF, but a vector .ai file type. I would expect that either Affinity Photo or Designer would distinguish the difference. Additionally you are presented with an odd, overly dark black & white thumbnail of the file. Why is the thumbnail so poor quality and not in colour? The whole layout of the import window just doesn't lend itself to what you would expect when importing vector files, especially in Affinity Designer. I can understand that Affinity Photo might have less options, but Affinity Designer using the same import window? Why is it even necessary for an import window in Designer if there are no necessary options? Is this a bug, or something I don't get? Thanks.
  12. I want to import/place the following SVG file (hlines.svg). It looks correct in Illustrator. I can also open the file in Chrome and it looks correct. Here is how it looks when imported/placed in Designer: It is faint, but only the square in the upper left corner appears and it is missing the two horizontal black bars. How do I fix this? If I open the file it looks similar but I get a long list of layers. It seems that all of the boxes are being stacked on top of each other. I can select a layer and then move the SVG object to a different location. In this example, I moved each of the boxes from the upper left corner, where they were stacked on top of each other. I don't care if the objects are on separate layers or flattened on the same layer. I am not doing any editing except for scaling the entire image to 30 in x 30 in. I just need it to look like the image at the top, hLines.svg
  13. Can I import .asl files (layer styles) into affinity photo for the iPad Pro?
  14. Hi. When I import a SVG with a rectangle with the rounded corners property, for example: rx="15%" Affinity Designer ignores the value and sets a default absolute value of 0.2px. guidelines.svg
  15. Excuse the duplicate topic, I've only found one thread with no recent activity. I'm having a problem loading .abr files into Affinity on my ipad pro. I've tried multiple brushes from different authors and I get (usually) the same results. The textures, more often than not, load and display at about the top third of the texture window, the rest is black. This results in the brush only being useable in the top portion of the canvas...anything below it paints a solid with no texture. I've snooped around and tried to find a fix to no success. Has anybody ran into this problem? I feel like it might be a problem translating from a pattern based texture in photoshop (but still wrapped in an ABR file) to Affinity needing a full texture image. Any thoughts would be awesome. Using an iPad Pro 10.5" with the latest ios 11 update as of Nov 27, 2017 Thanks, Kyle
  16. When I import the attached PDF file AD only shows and imports grey images (see screen shot). Opening the PDF in Acrobat or Preview everything looks good. Photoshop also imports that PDF without issues. I tried other PDFs from that very same source (IMSLP database for music score) with exact same results. The only workaround so far is to "print" the PDF as new PDF. The result opens up perfectly in AD. Since this does not happen with all other kinds of PDFs so far, only with the ones from that source, I suppose the issue is linked to how these PDFs are being generated by IMSLP. But since Photoshop opens them perfectly I'd expect AD to do the same. Update: I forgot to mention that this happens on macOS and WIN10 IMSLP18948-PMLP12561-Bartók_-_String_Quartet_No._3_(score).pdf
  17. Is there a way to import .asl files into Affinity photo for iPad Pro? It looks like, from the menu, there is room for other styles. Please advise. I’m loving Affinity photo, btw! Thank you.
  18. Good evening everyone, I've a little question because I'm new to Photo and I cannot understand if I'm doing something wrong or if it's an Affinity Photo problem. I'm opening a Multichannel OpenEXR generated by Blender that contains all my render passes (I've check that with a compositing software and all the passes are there) but Photo only show me into the layer tab the RGB "beauty" channel and the alpha one. I don't understand why that's happen because as far as I know Photo should support Multichannel OpenEXR without any problem. I'm missing something or I've found a potential bug/issue? Thanks for the help N.
  19. There are problems with the display / rendering of connectors and labels of connectors on import of an SVG into Affinity Designer. In Affinity Designer the connectors are no longer properly connected to the nodes. I attach a comparison of the appearance in the Fnder vs that in Affinity Designer. 20. When importing a psd-file with textlayers with "Nunito type font", not rasterized, the text is messed up. When importing the file with "text rasterized" everthing is as intended. I have the feeling that the Nunito font itself could be the reason, the text layer with an arial black font seems ok (this text layer is not displayed by default) I submit the psd file as an attachment. PS i'm using the latest version, just released a couple of days ago in a Windows 10 enviroment. Thanks for looking at this and keep up the excelent work logo_m&c_produktie.psd
  21. I have a FH file that extensively uses the glow effect; I am wondering if AD can't open that? Another FH files without the effect appears to be able to open the file.
  22. Image clipping on an SVG file is not displayed correctly and the vector mask layer is missing, this is not a problem when I tried to import it into Adobe Illustrator. This problem is not present in the previous version (1.5.2.58) here both Inkscape and Illustrator displayed the SVG correctly as you can see, the circle vector mask is deleted, caused the clipping not displayed correctly, and the image size/image scaling is not correct here is the file to check it out drawing.svg
  23. After successful import of Frankentoon brushes they do not appear in the brushes menu in Affinity Designer 1.6 (german language)
  24. Hi! I couldn't find anything directly related to my question, so I figured I'd try to ask independently. I'm not new to AD (I LOVE IT, by the way), but I am new to AE, and I currently don't see any worthy equivalent to it (hoping you guys make it happen!)... So, as I'm getting more into Motion Graphics, my question is, how do I successfully export my AD work in to AE?? I saw it done on YouTube, but the guy was doing a time lapse vid, and didn't at all show how he seemingly seamlessly imported his vector work into AE. And I don't see ANYWHERE how to do this. I know there's got to be a way. Can anyone please help!? Thank you so much in advance.
  25. Hallo dear people from affinity, first i have to admit , that i love your program. It allready has got a very complete and great toolset when it comes to refining images and photos and for sure is on one level with Adobe photoshop, just for an increadible smal amount of money.. After researching the toolset of this program for my architectural company, i still can say it is a great program. But there are areas of the program, that are just much slower , thinking of the workflow of a usual architectual company, and the way Architects have to deal with competitions. Especialy in this area, in this most important workflow for architects, the way we have to construct Plans, Affinity Photo is not on one level in comparison to Photoshop. So i hope very very much, that this can be improved. So please dear people of Affinity Photo, take my post to your develloperteam, and have a look at it. I know making Software is a complicated task, and even more, because you have to deal with compatibility tasks to other Companys, that for sure won´t like to help you (thinking of pdf files.... for example).. But even Germany has got about 130 000 Architects, and most of them at the moment depend on using Photoshop at some moment in Competitions, So just think of this market... . and maybe in a later release, we can get an improved workflow also for architects and not only for photographers... thanks.. so here comes a link to a video i recorded just to show you the workflow of Architects, using Affinity, compared to Photoshop..
