  1. My version Affinity Beta for iPad 1.6.7.67 constantly crashes when using the drag n drop feature. I've tried to drag n drop 100+ images to 30 images with the same result. Crash crash crash. I'm running iOS 11.3 beta 7 on 2nd gen iPad pro 12.9. I have even tried to do a hard reset with the same results. Also the implanting brush is exterior laggy.
  2. Is it an idea to add a button or a checkbox that remembers the exportsettings. I will give an example. My original document is 1200x800 pixels. When i do an export to, let's say 300 pixels. Then i have to change the settings with every export to the desired 300 pixels. If i could 'freeze' the setting, then i would make a no errors on export. I would love it. So my original material is due no harm, but my exports are all te same with the frozen settings. If i uncheck it. Then the situation is normal. I use it to make a order of more frames with litle changes. And know i have to change the export settin every time. Perhaps more people would like it. Thanks.
  3. Hi, My I pad pro 10.5 is going to be full. And I know finally why. in the affinity app they save the files on the front page. I must delete them one by one. I have hundreds of them in it. so thats take me days when all of it is gone. I hope I have explained it well, and hope if you guys have an solution for it to delete it all in one time. thank you! Gladys
  4. Hi, I would love to see an option to optimise Affinity Designer’s files. What I have in mind is a way, once you have finished your composition to reduce the image size to match their use. You would need a few options to reduce the file without losing actual useful data. Depending on what you need you can define that the file images need to be downsized to 1x or 2x, that the images should be cropped to their visible portion or left to their full size, etc. I think this would be really helpful to avoid archiving huge files when you have a mostly vector file but with a few cropped images.
  5. What I'm wondering is if I create a macro that adds a bitmap texture will that texture be exported in the macro if I export it?
  6. What lossless compressed images you use in affinity, PNG or TIFF?
  7. Hi Support, Some Bugs for you, I place an image for a new project: 1). Although when still holding the left mouse button th image shows, after trying to place it in position on the page, all I get is a small square of it in the top left hand corner and the bounding box is showing the full size image even though there is nothing in there. Plus the bounding box doesn't go away. I tried repairing the Update by turning off my Firewall and the Internet but it still doesn't work. Any idea what is causing this and when is it likely to be fixed ?
  8. Affinity Photo (Version 1.5.2) - April 27, 2017 Hello, We would like to build a Macro that includes different layers to build some sort of 3D image impressions including a separate background. Below you'll find the exact steps we've taken so far: A. MACRO PROCESSING 1) Drag and drop a .jpg image into Affinity Photo 2) Activate Macro 3) Document --> Resize Document to 560px x 395px, Units: Pixels, DPI: 450, Resample: Bilinear, Resample activated/ticked --> Resize 4) Document --> Resize Canvas --> 640px x 640px, Units: Pixels, Anchor: Center --> Resize 5) Click on image with cursor/arrow --> Document --> Flatten 6) Transform --> S: -3 Degrees 7) C&P image, switch to last layer and Transform --> S: +3 Degrees 8) Move edited image (of last/lowest layer) accordingly and enter H-Value with a Delta of -20px 9) Effects --> Gradient Overlay 10) Layer --> New Layer --> Arrange --> Move to Back 11) Choose Flood Fill Tool --> Click into empty area --> Effects --> Gradient Overlay --> Type: Radial 12) Document --> Flatten 13) Stop Recording Macro 14) Add To Library --> Enter Macro name and hit OK --> Don't save the document B. BATCH PROCESSING 1) File --> New Batch Job process and choose "Save as JPEG" While the above steps (1 – 14) work perfectly fine when doing everything manually in Affinity Photo, it doesn't so when executed via Macro. To see the difference between Manual vs. Macro refer to the ZIP-Attachment below. C. QUESTION How can we build a Macro so that the final image looks EXACTLY like the one shown under manual conditions? Thanks, Pat Macro.zip

  10. Hello, new to Affinity forums but having great success using AF & AD. I am trying to use symbols to update 50+ label backgrounds. Seems like symbols and text work across all labels (love the one shot update!). But trying the same technique with images has no update effect. Hopefully I am doing something wrong. Is this even possible. Thanks Norb
  11. Hi, Can anybody suggest how to go about creating The Flash logo (especially the lightning bolt) like in this images https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=The+Flash+Logo&FORM=IRIBQP. I'm a beginner and just starting to learn basic workflows in Affinity Designer. Thanks
  12. I name all of my layers and groups in my SVG file. It is crucial the IDs export correctly so I can target them with ease in CSS and Javascript. The recent update just messed up how they export. Normally name of layer: dismiss-popup as typed (see attachment) Would appear as such on export in SVG code: <g id="dismiss-popup"><rect x="-36.697" /* rest of SVG code */ After update, it does this: <g id="dismiss.-popup"><rect x="-36.697" /* rest of SVG code */ What is with the period?! Now I have to go through and edit the IDs or CSS/JS code every time I modify my SVG interactive and export it. I guess I could just accept the periods, but I would like to know why it is doing it. Is this a bug or my machine? Why was this done? Thanks
  13. I have a few questions regarding images placed in an Affinity Designer file and the eventual resolution/file size: Is it best for eventual PDF file size to pre-crop images before placing them in my document? ie. does the PDF file still contain image data that falls beyond the edges of pages or masks? Does the AD crop tool achieve the above the same as pre-cropping would? How do I 'uncrop' an image? There doesn't seem to be an option for removing any crop I've applied to an image (beyond stretching the handles back out and trying to line up with the original image edges). I've noticed placing an image in my document and exporting to 'PDF for Export' without any alterations to the placed image results in a large file size (the original image DPI is maintained). However applying the crop tool (even a tiny amount) suddenly results in the image taking the DPI of the document (and bringing the file size right down). Is this intentional? Shaun
  14. I have an image that I am trying to color using affinity designer I tried changing the fill color but that didn't work also I tried converting it to curves but that didn't work either can anyone help me please?
  15. I've done some data driven images in Photoshop. I just purchased Affinity Photo and I'd love to do more elaborate data driven images. I don't know if it's available yet. Here is information on it from Adobe Photoshop: Adobe Photoshop "How To" make data driven graphics Thanks
  16. Well I came to work today and was pleasantly surprised that I cant open raw image format in affinity without getting a green screen of death. Does anyone have a similar problem and if, what did you discover the problem to be?
  17. Hello, several images are opened only the active image will be shown in menu / window. For example image1, image2 and image3 are opened and image2 is active. Only image2 will be displayed under menu/window.
  18. Hi everybody, I'm currently working on a little booklet with Designer. I know, it's not the software for booklets, but I'm not fun of Scribus, and I don't have a licence for Indesign... and I'm waiting for Serif to publish their publisher software solution. So here's my problem, the booklet is full of images (it's a little comic book) and having 30 pages more or less, the file size raised the 315 MB! Which means an average of 2 GB of RAM used right after opening the project. Only some of the images are embedded as the Assistant has rasterized them when I've used Pixel Persona to blur some areas. But I can edit the original files and re-import them as external, no problem. Anyway, the project file size is still huge. Any suggestion on how to reduce it? Any best practice for working with big files in Designer? Consider that: format is A5 all the images have a dimension that grants an average of 200dpi (shorter side is 1080px) All images are masked in order to stay inside the comic layout so they could be cropped a bit Here an image to make all this a bit more clear. In one picture you'll see that the image is masked Thanks
  19. Hello, have a question. I'm looking for an option to save (opened or perhaps with drag + drop) images on a "contact sheet". On the contact sheet I can arrange the number of images of each page and add some informations (project, date …) and export (as pdf).
  20. Combining text with images is always a challenge. Most of the examples and work I see uses a destructive method and if sometimes it's not a big deal, others we need to do it all over again. Is this tutorial I show you how you can combine both in a non-destructive way. You'll keep all the editing functionalities of texts, shapes, filters, adjustments and layers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sqT5qHq2f0 The language in the video is portuguese but this time I add english subtitles. Hope you enjoy the video :) Pedro
  21. Hey all, The Photo for Windows beta has proven incredibly popular, and I appreciate that, like with any software, there's a learning curve and the requirement to invest time in understanding the software's functionality and idiosyncrasies. With no firm commitment to delivering them consistently (that bit is important to note ;) ) I'd like to share some example editing/workflow videos. My aim is to demonstrate Photo's feature set and, hopefully, help viewers understand how the tools and features they're accustomed to using in other software can translate to Photo's implementations. If you haven't caught them already, it's also worth noting that there's a huge set of video tutorials for Photo available at http://affin.co/PhotoTuts - around 165 at last count. Here they are: Hadrian's Wall Link: https://vimeo.com/191642138 This video focuses on: Raw noise reduction and dithering Marquee selections from tonal ranges Layer masking Blend modes Blend ranges Channel duplication/loading to alpha mask Live filter layers Configurable layer behaviour Tiled Building Link: https://vimeo.com/191981432 This video focuses on: Accurate selections using selection brush tool Saving selections to spare channels Loading channel information into a layer's alpha mask Live brush previews Creative painting with blend modes Dynamic brush resizing on the fly Live Lighting filter Live filter layer mask painting Fast history scrubbing Portrait Retouching Link: https://vimeo.com/194985128 This video focuses on: Automated Frequency Separation Healing Brush and Clone Brush Merging visible layers Live filter layers Live brush previews and blend modes Changing/adding colour tones Changeable workflow behaviours via Assistant dialog Live scrubbing History panel Monochromatic Architecture Link: https://vimeo.com/194986066 This video focuses on: Adjustment Layers Live brush work with live previews Painting & Erasing Live filter layers Non-destructive noise/grain addition Canary Wharf Link: https://vimeo.com/203283705 This video focuses on: RAW development Tone Curve option Apply Image with channel equations Black & White adjustment with Multiply blend mode to knock out sky colour Pixel painting to enhance colours Curves tonal adjustment Live Unsharp Mask filter for final sharpening Banded Demoiselle Link: https://vimeo.com/203294769 This video focuses on: Creating selections with the Selection Brush Inverting a selection Masking an adjustment using a selection Tweaking layer opacity Live Lighting filter with blend mode Live High Pass filter with masking White Balance for tinting I'll keep you posted as further videos appear. 24. Hi If anyone is interested in using / likes playing with Panorama's, l took a series of single shot iPad images at the weekend specifically to test the Affinity Photo Panorama facility, really, just to see how well it worked. Most impressed l must say. Anyway, the single, unprocessed / straight out the back of the iPad images for you to play with and a completely unprocessed stitched Panorama example can be found at the following link, (l hope you can access the images, sorry but l do not do Face page or the Tweeting stuff). https://www.icloud.com/sharedalbum/#B0NGWZuqDGPYHGo I have also attached a LowRes version of the resulting Stitched Panorama just for info. Enjoy.
  25. hello I'm very new to Affinity products and I might be missing something But there seems to be a bug in the adjustment of embedded images in Affinity Designer I am bringing in PDFs from a client and I need to do minor adjustments to the color of embedded images the adjustment layers work very well for this and the adjustments are shown on the screen (yay good controls !) but when I go to print the adjustments are not there the image below shows a major shift in color via an adjustment layer that neither prints or is shown in the print dialogue box this is not true of the "Layer Effects" which show up fine on screen and in the print (see attached image of an applied blur) (As an aside there seems to be no way to "open in" or "export image" just the image in the layer; which would be a work around.) any thoughts? or workarounds?
