I'm upgrading my current mid 2010 iMac to a current model with 6 cores, 16 GB ram, and 2 TB fusion disk. I've cloned my current installed software and apps using Apple TimeMachine and will use the resulting file to transfer apps and data from old to new computers. Before my "Affinity Days" I did this when replacing an HDD on my current Mac, worked very smoothly. I read that the latest version of Affinity Photo--installed on my current machine--supports multiple cores. My question: Once installed on my new Mac by the transfer, will the upgraded version of Affinity Photo recognized the multiple cores and use them? Or, do I need to re-download an upgrade package from Serif? I'd appreciate your comments / advice. Paul

Hi, Mine is a tale of woe with a new Mac. It has now had its logic board replaced but when I turned it on I got a "Your Mac has run into a problem" message with a dump report. In the logs there were three reports all from the same time. Two were "proactive event trackers" but the third related to Affinity Publisher. I didn't think Publisher was running at the time. The code is below. Does it mean anything to anyone, please? Regards W —- crash-103018.txt

Hello, After many years of faithful service my iMac has died. I want to buy a new one but was wondering if anyone had any info or thoughts on which options to choose for best results with Affinity Photo. I know that I'll need to upgrade the RAM but will 16GB be enough or should I stretch to 32GB? Mostly I'm confused as to how much difference going for the faster CPUs would make. I know this will ultimately fall down to my budget but what I'm asking is how much difference upgrading the CPU / RAM will make when just doing basic adjustments. I'm also conscious of the fact that I will be upgrading my camera at some point and the file sizes being much larger in future.

Hello Serif Staff, I am currently looking into purchasing a new desktop computer, more specifically an iMac 21.5 inch With Retina 4k Display. My question goes as follows before I make a purchase: What iOS version does the Affinity suite (Photo, Designer and Publisher) require to run on an Apple machine? Is the Affinity suite compatible with Mac Pro "Six Core" 3.5 (Late 2013)3.5 GHz 6 Core Xeon E5-1650v2? Will the Affinity suite upgrades be compatible with a Mac Pro "Six Core" 3.5 (Late 2013)3.5 GHz 6 Core Xeon E5-1650v2? What specifications do I need to know before I settle on a permanent purchase? I have ruled any Windows software out of the equation for my investment, and as soon as I have an answer, I plan on purchasing all three desktop in one go. I currently run the mobile app on an iPad (6th Gen). Thank you for your responses.

I currently have Affinity Photo installed on my iMac which is past it's best, so I have just ordered a new iMac which will be delivered at the end of next week. How do I transfer the application and my existing licence from my current iMac to my new machine? Also how do I find out what my licence code is?

Input please: As a photographer I’ve been using Lightroom on my (now outdated) iPad for years, and used my wife’s Macbook Pro when I needed features, not available on my iPad (photoshop). I don’t really like Lightroom, I’m intrigued by Affinity Photo, and I need new hardware - so here’s my dilemma: Is there any difference in performance/possibilities/features/flexibility using Affinity Photo on an iPad Pro, or an iMac? Because that might decide my hardware choice (I really like my iPad cuz I travel a LOT, but the output and flexibility is far more important). I hope this makes sense! Thanks in advance for any help!

Affinity Photo 7 - Upgraded to 7 in Mojave. Now how do I transfer all my styles and cropping setting. It's a shame that this isn't considered when upgrading the Photo software.

I had to force quit AP 1.7 for not responding. It just would not load. When I hit Command + Tab the AP icon was shown with Finder. BUT in the dock, I had no indication that AP 1.7 was even running. Once I rebooted, I had no problems it fired right up. Mid2010 iMac High Sierra 10.13.6

Hi there, I am absolutely new here and hopefully you are not bored hearing my concerns. My wife‘s got a Macbook Pro 13“, 8GB, SSD, i5, early 2015 and workes with latest version of affinity. When loading more than 7 RAW files, nothing goes on and system hangs up. Due to the fact, that this MacBook is proberly not one of the most perfomance, she bouht an iMac Retina 5K, 27“, i5 3,5GHz, 8GB RAM an 1TB Fusion Drive, late 2017. First perception: Loading pics in RAW is about twice as fast as the MacBook when loading between 1 and 6 pics (5 pics: 20seconds vs 40 seconds). But the disappointment follows immediately: When loading more than 6 pics (i.e. 10 or 14), than the iMac also hangs up. That seems to be the same on MacBook and iMac. So, what is going on? Do we need more RAM, i.e additional 32GB? Need your advice !! I don‘t think, that a much more performance machine would help, i.e i7 am 64GB mit 1TB SSD. That would be the most performance iMac. To pre-answer your questions, why she needs so many pics parallel at the same time: she wants to use it as a picture browser to choose, which of the pics is worth to work on. I think, there must be another way to do so. Is there a picture browser embedded to affinity? So, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks in advance. Stefan

Does anyone have—or know of a site that has—any benchmarks of how Affinity products perform on the new iMac Pro, vs a standard 5K iMac? Startup, filters, the usual suspects are good benchmarks, though I'm very curious about RAW file handling time, as well. Throwing 42.5 megapixel RAW files at anything takes time, and although an iMac Pro may be a bit of a lavish expense, if all these numbers are significantly better than on a 5K iMac, it very well may be worth the upgrade. So long is spent watching progress bars instead of editing. Thanks for any and all help!

Hi, just downloaded photo 1.6.7 on imac 10.13.3 retina 5k, 27 inch late 2015 3.3Ghz intel core i5, 8 GB Radeon R9 2GB Checked with activity monitor and nothing of significance is going, affinity takes all all % CPU. But something must be wrong, or not? I carefully looked at all feedback on line before buying this app but it is completely unusable at this speed. Apple Photos, Adobe Photoshop when started separately work well and fast. Much appreciate some help! Was so much looking forward to this software... )-: thanks Arnim

Hi, I have just tried Affinity Photo and am quite impressed, it seems much easier than photoshop. My question is: do I need multiple purchases or will one purchase of Affinity do all my devices? Regards JJPKB

The Lensfun lens corrections don't work on my system. I run Affinity Photo (AP) 1.6.6 on an iMac running Sierra 10.12.6 (can't upgrade to the latest OS as my printer network drivers don't like the latest OS). My camera is a Panasonic DMC-G1 with a Lumix G Vario 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 lens amongst others and this data is correctly recognised in the EXIF data shown in AP. I have tried loading the file with and without lens correction assistant options enabled with no effect. I have had this problem with all earlier versions of AP and Mac OS on the same computer. Lack of lens correction on AP is pretty much the only reason I still use other imaging software, so how do I correct the problem?
