  1. Hi after importing a PDF document is still only the beach ball. iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2017) Processor 4,2 Ghz Intel Core i7 RAM 16 GB Graphicboard Radeon Pro 850 8192 MB on a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) Processor 3,1 GHz Intel Core i7 RAM 16 GB Radeon Pro 560 4096 MB is the same procedure no Problem. analyse-afpub.zip
  2. Hello, I am fairly new to Affinity Photo ( I have always used Adobe) and have a query before buying - can I download on to my Imac, MacBook and Ipad - with one licence? thanks for your help in advance, Irene
  3. Does anyone have—or know of a site that has—any benchmarks of how Affinity products perform on the new iMac Pro, vs a standard 5K iMac? Startup, filters, the usual suspects are good benchmarks, though I'm very curious about RAW file handling time, as well. Throwing 42.5 megapixel RAW files at anything takes time, and although an iMac Pro may be a bit of a lavish expense, if all these numbers are significantly better than on a 5K iMac, it very well may be worth the upgrade. So long is spent watching progress bars instead of editing. Thanks for any and all help!
  4. Hi, just downloaded photo 1.6.7 on imac 10.13.3 retina 5k, 27 inch late 2015 3.3Ghz intel core i5, 8 GB Radeon R9 2GB Checked with activity monitor and nothing of significance is going, affinity takes all all % CPU. But something must be wrong, or not? I carefully looked at all feedback on line before buying this app but it is completely unusable at this speed. Apple Photos, Adobe Photoshop when started separately work well and fast. Much appreciate some help! Was so much looking forward to this software... )-: thanks Arnim
  5. Hey. My plugins (Nik) disappeared after updating to the later Affinity Photo. I'm on iMac. I've tried going into preferences - Photoshop Plugins but obverting I've tried doesn't work. I have no idea what I'm doing lol! Any help would be appreciated thanks :-)
  6. Hi, I have just tried Affinity Photo and am quite impressed, it seems much easier than photoshop. My question is: do I need multiple purchases or will one purchase of Affinity do all my devices? Regards JJPKB

    Lenfun corrections don't work.

The Lensfun lens corrections don't work on my system. I run Affinity Photo (AP) 1.6.6 on an iMac running Sierra 10.12.6 (can't upgrade to the latest OS as my printer network drivers don't like the latest OS). My camera is a Panasonic DMC-G1 with a Lumix G Vario 14-45mm F3.5-5.6 lens amongst others and this data is correctly recognised in the EXIF data shown in AP. I have tried loading the file with and without lens correction assistant options enabled with no effect. I have had this problem with all earlier versions of AP and Mac OS on the same computer. Lack of lens correction on AP is pretty much the only reason I still use other imaging software, so how do I correct the problem?
  9. Can I add Designer to second computer without paying twice. I installed on IMac but would also like to use on my Mac Book Air.
  10. Hi how does affinity photo perform while editing raw files using a 2017 Imac I5 8GB Memory Imac? I head photoshop and lightroom is very slow, I just wondered if anybody used affinity with this spec mac? Darren
  11. I Have a iMac 27" and I use both windows and Mac (Yes) My question is the affinity Designer and Affinity Photo is better on MacOS or Windows. I'm a graphics design student so I just have enough money to buy one for my study and my work in the future. Thanks for all advice

    Huge Performance Issues

Hello fellow affinity designers, I recently noticed some performance issues with Affinity Designer. Started with 1.5 update. Runs very smoothly on my 2012 Macbook Pro (13" 1280*800, 8Gb Ram, 2.9GHz Core i7, Intel 4000 1536Mb) Runs laggy and with load times on my 2015 iMac (27" 5K retina, 32Gb Ram, 4GHz Core i7, AMD Radeon R9 4096Mb) Both computers run macOs Sierra 10.12.1 Examples about the performance issues: When I move a shape or some text around, even in an empty document, it's like if my "FPS" dropped. The elements/objets don't move smoothly anymore, they kind of jump around like if my computer was having a hard time. This also happens when I edit a gradient with the gradient tool for example Many other scenarios. To summ it up, my better computer (by far) is having a way harder time (by far) running AD 1.5. I'd really appreciate some solutions/explanations about this issue. It has a big impact on my workflow. C~
  13. Since really exploring Affinity products, I decided it's time I put my MacBook Pro aside and get something that AD and APh can really take advantage of the core features of the latest hardware. What would be your model choice, screen size, most helpful peripherals/accessories? Of course budget has to come into it, but I am more interested in the right equipment to get work out without being extravagant and wasteful. Thanks for your replies. Michael
  14. Opening .nef files on my iMac brings up a pink/white/black bar on the base of a landscape image and at the side for a portrait image; see attached image. Trying to develop the image does not remove the bar which has, in effect, overwritten the base of the image. Viewing the .nef image as icons or in coverflow in Finder shows an uncorrupted image without a bar, but using the column display shows a black bar instead of the pink/white/black. Nikon's View NX2 shows uncorrupted images. Capture NX-D shows pink/white/black corrupted images but only after uncorrupted images are first shown; the pink/white/black bar is added afterwards. So, uncorrupted images are available on the hard disk, and these can be viewed in Finder and View NX2, but AP fails to use them. To complicate things further, only .nef files from dates in December have this problem, but not .nef files prior to December (I only have 3 days of shots to go on). Is this an update issue? Any ideas as to what might be causing this problem, and how to make AP use the uncorrupted images that are resident on the drive? Thanks for any help you can provide. I am running AP 1.5 and iOS Sierra 10.12.2
  15. My new iMac has the following system: Model Name: iMac Model Identifier: iMac17,1 Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 4 L2 Cache (per Core): 256 KB L3 Cache: 6 MB Memory: 8 GB Will Affinity Photo install OK?
  16. Don’t know if anyone has brought that up already but I just saw that on a page presenting the iMac, Apple is using an image featuring Affinity Designer (second image down). Good on you, Serif. :)
  17. Hi, I'm using the latest version of Affinity Designer from the Mac App Store (1.4.3) on a brand new iMac 27" with a retina display using OSX Sierra, and I'm having trouble with the bounding boxes around selected objects. Sometimes they show, sometimes they flicker on/off, and sometimes they're invisible. I'm not changing any settings such as accidentally turning them on or off, so I wondered if this was a bug with Sierra/Retina display? Anyone else having this issue? It's making it quite difficult to use the app. Cheers Michael
  18. My TIFF files made with Affinity Photo are not displayed in Apple programs including Photos, Finder and Preview. This seems to happen to files made after a certain date some time this year. The Apple tech I talked to said there seemed to be a fix by Affinity Photo. I cannot find it. How do I get this issue fixed? Thanks.

    Imac and Keyboard

Hello everyone, after a long time I am posting more material, this time a Imac and keyboard, I did, in Affinity designer I hope you enjoy
  20. Hi, I just downloaded the trial version today [25/09/2015] and installed it on my 2 week old iMac with Yosemite. Presently I use Photoshop Elements 9 and didn't want to spend a lot on more software for my new computer. I like the initial look and feel of the program and the fact that command-L brings up the much used levels option that I am used to. Another aspect of Photoshop that I sometimes use is the clone stamp tool and I tried this next, It works the same way as Elements in that alt-click selects the starting point and shows a little "+" as the source point. But when I start trying to clone the way I do in Photoshop nothing happens. Opacity and flow are both at their default 100% and hardness at 80%. Am I doing something wrong?
  21. Think I have stumbled upon an issue with Yosomite? In mavericks full screen window was achieved by hitting a button top right and again to pull back to app window. Yosomite utilises the green button in trio of traffic lights top left. I use my Macbook with my 27" iMac when working in my home studio, and up to now clicked green to fit to screen...then when working freelance on my 13" macbook screen I would again hit green to fit to window. Now in Yosomite, I move away from my iMac 27" screen and hit green, everything moves to full screen as it should however if i hit green again, it reverts to fitting the 27" Screen not the screen size I am using. Hope that makes sense?
