  1. I have a fairly large table of contents (2 column, 1 page) with maybe ~100 entries (20 chapters, the rest level 2) in a PDF that has 164 pages. About 95% of the hyperlinks in the TOC in the generated PDF go to the correct page. However, there's a handful that go to the next page (TOC page + 1) instead of page 86 or 87 or whatever it says in the TOC. This works for almost everything and requires me to click on each specific link to make sure it's valid or not. This is another deal breaker (besides the ability to generate PDF bookmarks from TOC or header styles or whatever) for digital publishers - when the TOC hyperlinks doesn't work! And there's no bookmarks! So users reading large documents will get a subpar PDF experience! Also, what's also annoying is that I need to insert a column break to prevent orphan chapter/section (the last entry on col 1 is a chapter title with it's subsections at top of col 2, so I insert a col break to make it look correct), then I get the pop-up saying "TOC has changed" on every.single.export. Even though nothing has change. I just added a col break inside of the TOC. Edit: Added image from Acrobat Pro that shows the hyperlink properties. This hyperlink property is for the chapter "Sembia" and page "88" link below it, but it says Page 4 (TOC is on Page 3).
  2. When a hyperlink's type is URL, the Go to Target button is not available (i.e., it is grayed out). This might be a feature rather than a bug, but I ended up reporting it here because the documentation does not mention anything about hyperlink type restrictions when describing this feature, and because one might expect the URLs to be visitable similarly as in InDesign, as it is often important to check that links (also URL ones) included in a publication are not broken.
  3. I would like to add a link to a phone number (tel:+4412345678) in an interactive PDF. The Add URL function always creates a 'https://' automatically, so the tel:-link cannot work. From my point of view the automatic 'https://' is unnecessary? Many thanks and best regards Dominik
  4. I have successfully created a hyperlink in one of the betas. But now the email link did not work. Only after ten quick clicks or so the email would open. I re-created the link and now it doesn't work at all. What I did: Write the text g.g. email@mydomain.com underline it select text Go text-interactive-hyperlink I accidentally clicked in the hyperlink panel "go to target" I don't know what this means and how to set a target. When I click the email address in the pdf it takes me to page one of the magazine instead of opening up the email application. How can I fix this mess so a click on the email link opens the email? thanks!
  5. I am thrilled with the release version of Publisher for hundreds of reasons. But I am very dismayed by how poorly the hyperlink function actually works. Whether I am attempting to hyperlink to another page or to a URL, it hardly ever succeeds. When I input the specifications, and hit return, Publisher simply quits entirely. Sooooo frustrating!! Has anyone found a solution to this issue? Or is there a new build available? This is really messing me up on a project right now. I would love it if there was a way to fix this unfortunate bugginess. Please let me know. Thanks.
  6. Is there a way to add a hyperlink to text in Designer so when we export as a PDF the link will stay live? I see the hyperlink option in the PDF export dialog box but I don't see anywhere to actually add the link data to text (or an object). Cheers!
  7. Are there any tutorials available on using hyperlinks and anchors? The help topic is very basic and doesn't seem to work for me. I used to use this function years ago in the old serif product, so that I could create PDF files where I could generate a link from an index reference to the relevant page, but I can't get the hang of it now. So either it's me or it's a bug. Personally, I think it's me, but a good tutorial video on using Hyperlinks and Anchors would be a great help.
  8. I have previous used WEBPLUS 8 by Serif. Seeing webplus 8 has been discontinued, I purchased Affinity Designer. It is an easy transition , however I am missing something. How does one Hyperlink from Affinity Designer. I built (armature) websites. Does Affinity Designer have capability of Hyperlinks? I have ordered the tutorial book, but not received as yet. Any input appreciated.
  9. This post relates to Affinity Publisher Beta 1.7.0.249 Following discussions on the topic 'Show Hyperlinks indication in Edit Mode' I thought I had solved a problem for someone who wanted two hyperlinks to a URL on every page, so I tried putting two hyperlinks on the Master Page of a 20 page (non-facing page) spread. Brilliant! Only 2 hyperlinks shown in Hyperlinks Studio tab, but 20 pages with working hyperlinks when exported as PDF for Web so I posted this information. . However the correspondent claimed to be getting more hyperlinks appearing in Hyperlinks Studio tab, which at first I couldn't replicate. However what I have now found is that if you select text on the Master Page and create a hyperlink from it to a URL, then adding more pages does NOT add more hyperlinks to Hyperlinks Studio tab. In my answer I had simply selected some text positioned over a filled circle. However if you select a GROUP [in my case a circle with text inside ] then creating a hyperlink to a URL from that leads to 1 extra hyperlink being added to the Hyperlink Studio tab for each page added, so the example below shows that when I've added five new pages to the spread, 5 new hyperlinks have been created. Conclusion - hyperlinks from text source on master page don't lead to increased number of hyperlinks when pages are added but hyperlinks from an Object source result in new hyperlinks being added when new pages are inserted Pman
  10. Hi, Maybe I'm misunderstanding the whole anchors and hyperlinks thing, but I can't seem to make this work. What I want to happen is have a list of items on page 1 to link to various sections on the following pages (I know there is the TOC, but I'm trying to exactly replicate an academic publication for an online PDF) I create some text on pages 2 through to 4, heading these pages with 'This is my anchor1 text' on page 2 and on page 4 'This is my anchor2 text' I create some text on page 1 eg 'This is my hyperlink text to anchor1' and 'This is my hyperlink test to anchor2' Two things happen When I select the text that I want to become the anchor on pages 2 and 4 it disappears when I add the anchor - I expected the text would become the anchor called the text I had selected, so I just placed the carat at the end of the text and named it Anchor1 and the same for Anchor2. When I select the text on page 1 to become the hyperlinks and chose Anchor there is nothing listed - I expected to see Anchor1 and Anchor2 to choose from whereas if I choose Page I can see all the page numbers in my document in the drop down list. Should the selected text in 1 remain? Is this blank Anchor listing in 2 a bug? Thanks, Ken
  11. I wanted to hyperlink something, but couldn't so my next step was to turn to a footnote. I see there has been a lot of past discussion on hyperlinks and footnotes. Has there been any update on the progress of either of those features?
  12. Hello, I really need this feature for a project. How to make a text link to a url with AD? Is it possible ? If not, do you know an other way to put it ? Thank you. Regards. Bilel
  13. Will there ever be the chance to add hyperlinks to texts, that can be included in exported PDF's?
  14. Hello, may I ask you to add Hyperlinks. Because it's important for invitations, route descriptions, product datasheets, etc on every pdf that was prepared by Designer. Even this forum allows to insert links, https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/windows/ Regards.
