  1. To be sure, I won't include the actual copyrighted material, but I've included examples below to clarify my question. I have a high-resolution map of an area in black and white, and then a color version in lower resolution. I want to merge the two images, to get a more detailed map combined with color information. Figure 1 and 2 are the two sample images, and figure 3 is when merging them with the color blend mode. It does not give a proper result, with missing and washed out colors. Examples would be the orange roads completely disappearing and lines in the Wellington Barracks area disappearing, in addition to a generally washed-out image. No other blend modes give a good result either, but I might be missing something important. Figure 1: Figure 2: Figure 3 (merged BW + color):
  2. Just another study created with Affinity Designer . . . Red Bull Super Beetle
  3. Beetle 2022 Study This is what a VW Beetle could look like if it were built again today. Drawn with Affinity Designer
  4. Silent Ocean - Campaign (2018) While studying at SAE for my Bachelor of Design, I got the change to work on a social issue campaign around noise pollution in the ocean with the goal to make 10 posters around the campaign and ended up making 12 posters, 10 badges, art display piece, and a website. This project was amazing to work on allowing myself to break out of my "normal design style" and really allow me to just play around with mix design, merging vector, paper craft, images and 3D together to create something amazing Made with: Affinity Photo (Mac + iOS (iPad Pro) Affinity Designer Autodesk Maya (for 3D) "Click Here" to view the website. __ Need of a graphic designer? 5. Hi there, i search for a tool / asset or so program for Affinity Designer, to make easily Mandalas and / or Patterns... It can be cost a little bit, no problem, so i search on the website "Creative Market" but i am not sure, what the best or if that is what i need. Can you recommend some tool for me? Best regards. 6. showing here a new video, doing a 2d Character, Tormund from Game of thrones using Affinity Designer 1.7, Full video available on my youtube channel, with a special animation done with Spine Pro, thanks everyone for watching
  7. Project made previously on Windows (Affinity Publisher), on Mac is not displaying text and other elements that are inherited from Master Pages. Text and graphics are selectable but not visible. Problem occurs after reopening file in Publisher >> During first edit everything works flawlessly; when you close project and reopen it - you have to be prepared to face this issue. ** It is probably occurs when you change layout (facing pages >> single pages and vice versa).
  8. I'm sure there must be a graphic novel in here somewhere. If I could be arsed. Addendum: Have added in another character study here. Not sure where all this is heading...
  9. When I create and select a graphic style, it is not automatically applied when drawing a vector path. I have to click the style again for each new path to apply it. It would be nice if you click on a style once, and then all new paths are created with it. In addition, I noticed that when clicking on a path to which a style was previously assigned, I unfortunately can't see which style it is. I hope you understand what I mean. Greetings, Claudia
  10. Hello, 2018 year was realy exciting for me. I created many illustrations. So, now, I can present the set of my works created last year. Thanks for watching My website: Mateusz Justkowski
  11. There seem to be a big performance hit when text wrap (tight, both sides) is applied to grouped vector graphics. Spinning ball everything halt for about 5-6 seconds.
  12. Hi there! A little new to iPad and Affinity, read something that some iPad versions (I think I have a kind of new iPad but maybe 3-4 years old) do not support Affinity Photo/Designer? I was thinking of making my own font but it doesn't always get a good output when I finish it and scan my font and upload it to the font services. That's why I wanted to either: 1) Buy a pen tablet and sketch my text and write directly into Affinity Designer. 2) Draw the text on a paper - make a photo with my iPhone, email it to my mail, open up the jpeg in AD and use the pen tool to re-make the text 3) Try an iPad app that works, draw the text (maybe the format will be better and easier when I open the file in AD) and it's there to be edited (color, size etc). Just need to be sure which file formats Affinity Designer can handle. Option 2 seems a little time consuming tho ... I was looking at Graphic and Vectornator but also gonna research these ones: https://www.howtoisolve.com/best-ipad-pro-drawing-apps/ Anyone else with some experiences or what would be the best option for Affinity Designer? I'm doing 80s synthwave/retrowave art and would like to do some of my own texts. Perhaps I can do my own font easier with this method too?? Best
  13. Dear Affinity-Community, I hope you can help me in this case ! I created a flyer using Affinity Designer. Colors are CMYK (ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)). For this flyer I have approx. 50 photos of leather watch straps, where the color is one of the most important things. I edited these photos in Photoshop CC and they really looked fine in PS CC (also CMYK !). The colors are very rich and deep if you are looking at the photos in Photoshop CC. Then I exported the photos from Photoshop and saved them as PNG (CMYK / ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)). Also the image looked fine when I opened it at the preview on the iMac. But as soon as I import this image to Affinity Designer, the colors are very very pale ! I hope you can help me get this problem under control. Thank you in advance ! Best regards Lucas
  14. Hey everyone, I'll attach a screenshot of my problem at the endn of the thread, but what I'm trying to do is merge these 3 curve layers into one flat object that I can put a gradient on (I wasn't able to do this with a rasterised pixel layer?) Is there any way I can do this? My issue with applying a gradient to the current set is that the gradient doesn't apply to the outline (which one of the layers uses as seen in the second screenshot) Are there any ways to do this or any workarounds? Thanks, Dylan EDIT: I know I could join curves but that would mess up some of the nodes and their placement wouldn't it?
  15. Hi everyone, I'm working on a logo and I'm trying to get rid of 2 filled sections of some triangles, the outlines are already done but the fill is still there, the area that I want to clear is the red crossed out part, does anyone know how to do this? The way I was thinking to do is just clear the fill and use shapes to fill it in instead, merge those and then select the colour, but I feel like that'll take longer than other solutions I've attached a screenshot Thanks
  16. So is there an easy way to to drop a watermark on to an image, then resize it. In PS I could take my custom watermark, which is in a PDF format, drop it on the image, resize it and that was it. Thinking it should be rather simple in AF as well, or hoping at least. Also I'm using 1.5 Beta v6.
  17. Hey all, here's the latest piece I've just finished in 1.6 b1. It's a fun and colourful graphic Heart illo I'm selling on Redbubble (shameless plug). ;-) Yes I know it's pink but purple heart sounds better. It's basically all line work with some filled in shapes but it's really the first time I've done a piece like this in Designer using the path or stroke pressure feature pretty much exclusively. It takes a little getting used to but it ended up feeling really nice and comfortable and kinda slick as compared to illustrator's method. Gotta say though, the expand stroke nodes situation is still a major issue for me as I usually expand and unite everything to make a watertight piece. It almost forced me to abandon Designer for this and jump back to illustrator. But I stuck with it and I'm happy with the final product. Here's a link to my Redbubble page showing it on various products. The bold colour and linework really pops. https://www.redbubble.com/people/kevincreative/works/26652427-purple-heart-i-know-its-pink-but-there-it-is
  18. Hi Guys, so i am trying to create a macro to watermark my work. However when I want create the text, there is an error message "Macro recorder: Can not record: Graphiktext hinzufügen [adding graphic text]" (For now using affinity in German). Please, please help me, what am I doing wrong?
  19. howdy folks, this is a feature which i think would help mirror certain things. so with a text object, you make into a curve. seperating the letters, great. but you can angle the letters, to make them look different or curved. but what would be really cool is if you say have a word like 'HELLO', you need to angle the 'H' 'E' 'L' & 'O'. you dont need to angle the middle L since its in the center. but say you select the H & O, you can angle them, but you can NOT angle them [see 001 picture] on the inside. it just allows on the outside and the boottom/top. i have to do the same for the E and for the second L. to make the word curve to then make this [see 002 picture] so really i have to angle each letter one at a time. when i think it could be done easier it just would be cool if you could:- A - with the entire word to curves, be able to select multiple letters 2 or 3 or 4 etc, to angle from the inside points, rather than always the outside OR B - have a curved text object but allow the curve object to curve in the same way without having to do it letter by letter anyhow. if this does exist already. please do share. but if not, it would be a nice feature. also if this doesnt make sense please do contact me back ;)
