  1. 😑 When I run Designer For the first time lt works fine. After working for 30-45 min, it starts to lag. Everything becomes slower & perform slowly. Like, selecting any object or layer lags for 1 sec. I'm on version 1.8.3. In the previous version (1.8.2) I didn’t face this problem. There is no specific file that I can attach. It is same for every file, mainly for larger sized file. I tried resetting the software holding ctrl key while launching the software, but it does nothing. My windows is up to date. My laptop config ( i5 6th gen, 8gb ram, 250gb ssd ) is fairly well too.
  2. In a book interior with 192 pages we place a sentence on a page. There are 500 different sentences for 500 different book interiors. The input is an afpub file the output is a PDF/X-4 file. Between each file we take one minute pause. The output PDF/X-4 is around 500kb. Affinity freezes every hour. To get it going again we have to close Affinity Publisher and start it again. My question is how we can achieve that the program doesn't freezes? Thanks in advance for your time and with friendly greetings, Michael
  3. Downloaded Affinity Publisher 1.8 today. Completely useless. Opens document then freezes ... and doesn't unfreeze ever so have to unplug laptop to switch off and start again. Only downloaded as version was using previous day started freezing as well, though not as badly. I am not a technical person at all. I am just making children's books with text and photos (around 70 pages-- around 50% photo pages 50% text pages-- and photos are linked not embedded, not by choice but seems that was all it could handle) and very very simple graphics. So it's no use asking me or sending me any technical stuff. Having wasted a lot of time in the last 2 days I am up to here with this programme as it is! PLEASE can somebody tel me which previous version is most stable? I think I can access 1.7.3 OR 1.7.1.404 from my downloads file (though haven't yet tried to re-install either). Is there something better and how do I access that. Help would be gratefully appreciated. Amy
  4. I am experiencing this issue since the 1.8 update where the erase brush tool freezes my application every time I increase or decrease the brush radius. It sometimes will take several seconds before I regain control of the application again and in some instance I think the program has just hardlocked on me. I have always had my performance setting to GPU and I have a Nvidia RTX 2070 Super so I don't think its my hardware, I did not experience any freezing like this in 1.7 either. I've been working on a 4096x2048 document as well in-case that extra info is helpful.
  5. Affinity photo is hanging, and I don't know what's causing it. I have had similar freezes happen in the last few weeks of using it too. Not many, but even just one every few days of use is enough to disrupt workflow. What I was doing: Merged down the attached file onto a single layer. Made visible only the merged down layer. Went into develop mode on the merged down layer, and started making adjustments (shadows and highlights, contrast, etc) Pressed the split view button so that I could compare the image before and after adjustments. AFFINITY HANGING! My setup: 64-bit Windows 10 8GB RAM Affinity Photo 1.6.4.104 So, interestingly, it's not showing as "not responding", but if I click on the Affinity Photo icon, it doesn't bring the window up, it just shows what was there before. Task manager lists affinity photo, and that it is consuming 2GB of RAM (RAM usage in total running at 70%), but not using any processing power. Attempting to close the application by right clicking on Affinity Photo and pressing close window doesn't seem to do anything. So instead I have closed the application by using "end task" in the task manager. After re-opening the file, and doing the process again, it proceeded without hanging. Nick at drawing board.afphoto
  6. Hi, I have a user that is using your hard and software for Affinity and equinox 2.0. It was installed on PC1 for years and worked without any problem, suddenly it stops working. I tried to re-install the software from the CD-rom gotten at purchase, everything is fine until i try to open the .exe file and it instantly crashes(xxmodulesuite has stopped working, windows is looking for a solution) the computer has all the requirements thats asked for, I am running windows 7 with all the latest windows updates. I installed it on a similiar specs machine with Windows 7 and it works without a problem. Could this be a driver issue? I have not yet checked that all the drivers are up to date. Best regards
  7. I am using Affinity Designer Pro version 1.5.3.69. I import a .psd file, I add a new layer, I start to paint on new layer and it crashes, or freezes every time I try to do this. I get this error code 0x80004003. I sent an error notice through the program along with my email. Anyone know why? Or how to fix it??????
  8. Hello, I'm really happy with Affinity Photo, great software ! I used it this week in production and noticed some freezes / lags which occurs in a random way, or at least I have not found yet the cause of it. I'm very surprised because I have a decent hardware ( i7 5960X and Titan X ), so I'm wondering if it really comes from my hardware or if AP needs a bit of work on the performances side. By the way is there any setting I can use to improve AP performances and responsiveness ? RAM usage is already set on the max available. Thank you, Pierre
  9. Hi guys, it's pretty easy to reproduce the freezing event: just create a new document, write a text open the character panel point to the drop down menu, change the values. Set on pdf, then toggle the other menu behind, the program stalls. The only way out is the task manager P.S. That occurs in A.Designer as well
  10. The App freezes after opening on my Macbook Air running under Mac OS 10.11, which then I must do a force quit. This issues does not seem to happen when running on my iMac desktop.
  11. Affinity Photo 1.3.4 consistently freezes on me when choosing between multiple tools in El Capitan Public Beta 3 and Public Beta 4. I have to force quit the application each time. It's likely an Apple issue, and I've reported it to them, but I thought I'd post it here too. I didn't really start using Affinity Photo until I upgraded to the El Capitan beta, so I don't know if the issue also occurs in Yosemite. I have a 13-inch MacBook Pro (early 2011) with 756GB SSD and 16GB RAM, connected to a 27-inch Cinema Display.
