  1. I purchased Frankentoon Neptune Brushes from the Affinity website. I have been trying to duplicate a brush in the Neptune Ink category and move it to a favorites category. When I right click the brush, the only option that is not grayed out is move to new category. When I click on move to new category, all the options are grayed out. I contacted customer support at Frankentoon and the say it is an Affinity problem that is preventing me from duplicating and moving brushes in this category. It appears that other brushes I purchased or were given as free directly from the Affinity website may have the same problem. Brushes I purchased from the Frankentoon website allow me to duplicate and move them. Is it possible to duplicate and move a brush in the Neptune Ink to a new category?
  2. It's rare I do painterly works solely through Affinity. I'm usually using some other program, so I don't normally post in this section. This is a work using a brush set by Frankentoon Studio that is free via this tutorial/process. Unfortunately the Youtube video for it apparently just went private (!), but the free brushset ("Frankentoon Placard Brushpack") is still at that link. I followed along loosely using another image and this illustration is inspired entirely using this new process. It is not my "typical" style or process, so I wanted to challenge myself. I got a bit more painterly with the surely not Dr. Teal's bottle. Couldn't resist. I like that this forced me to restrict myself more to laying flats.
  3. a Little Monster Illustration made by using Affinity Designer and Frankentoon brush. Enjoy! Please subscribe, if you find my channel helpful. 😂
  4. Okay so I have this problem on the latest AD version where I have a brush that needs everytime I open AD, the accumulation has to be at 100% to work, but when I increase the % to 100 and click save, restarting the AD, and it's still at 0% and I have to do this everytime I open AD to use the brush. (I have a pack from Frankentoon's brushes)
  5. Really happy with the speed of Pub 1.7.3 on this album cover for the Steam Kittens new release, although I started off the digi painting in Clip studio paint, I did a fair chunk in Pub using studio link photo using Frankentoon and Daub brushes plus some vector colour overlays - did need to use Illustrator to distort the SK logo and the colour wheel around the image but really impressed with the speed of using studio link on tonnes of layers
  6. Okay, so I just got the Texturizer Pro 1.6 from Frankentoon and I noticed that one of the brushes is kinda empty and if someone has this set of brushes, do you have this problem too? I mean it's Frankentoon I doubt that he will put an empty brush! The brush is called FT Broken. And I have tried to restart the iPad, switch colors and etc but it's still invisible...
  7. EDIT: I don’t know why my post keeps being moved into this category, it’s not where I posted originally Hi guys, I love the look of the new update! But... I’ve been trying to do a couple of things with some shiny new Frankentoon brushes (https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/store/product/neptune-brush-pack/) and free assets from Enrique for a tutorial here on the Affinity site (https://affinityspotlight.com/article/how-to-use-the-new-isometric-drawing-tools-in-affinity-designer-17/) The app is crashing constantly when I try either placing assets on an isometric drawing doc or trying to draw in pixel persona. I haven’t tried doing anything else because it’s happened so many times now, I feel like throwing the iPad across the room. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Designer! It’s just so frustrating when I can’t figure out what to do to fix this I don’t usually have issues with the brushes, I have sometimes had issues with the app crashing when I use assets. I’m not even sure if it’s these things I’m using that are causing the app to crash. I have tried closing out of all apps and restarting the iPad, this doesn’t seem to help. I have also transferred any docs I’ve got saved in the app onto my laptop so that hopefully I’m freeing up space but that doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I’m using an iPad Pro 12.9 iPad Pro 2nd generation, software version 12.3.1, 256GB with 206.48GB available. Please excuse if I’ve left any info out, I’m still learning... Thanks in advance for any assistance! candice EDITED TO ADD: I’ve tried deleting the app and re-installing, still keeps crashing, even just changing a brush. I’m getting really annoyed now, I never had this problem before & really disappointed.

  11. Practicing with @Frankentoon's comic book brushes and color and gradient swatches, so decided to start with something simple. Funny how when you try something you realize how much more you have to learn about it. Gotta work on those line weights...
  12. Hello everybody! As some of you may have noticed I haven’t uploaded any tutorials recently to www.frankentoon.com and all I can say in my defense is that this quarter has been crazy… the Frankentoon project has opened great opportunities for freelance work and I’ve been working over dreadful deadlines the last couple of months. The original goal of the website was not getting freelance work for me, but to offer simple, funny and easy-to-follow character design tutorials for Affinity users. And I really want to make more of those! In order to keep moving towards that goal, I’ve been re-structuring the way I’m managing the site. I’ll be offering some digital products in my store, so hopefully, I won’t have to rely that much on freelance work and this way I’ll have more time for writing free tutorials… which takes me to our main subject… Tutorials. This is a PARTIAL list of tutorials for 2017: Giving life to your pencil drawings with Designer Creating a video game Hero Creating a video game Villain/Boss Saving time with Adjustment Layers Comic-Style Inking with Designer Background Design: A Magical Forest Background Design: The Castle of Darkness Character Design: Pinup Girls Sketching with Affinity Designer and Pixel Persona Character Design: A Creature from Outer Space All of them sound interesting for me, but what really matter is what do YOU think. Do you find these topics interesting enough? Whats missing? What would you add to that list? What do you want to learn? What makes you struggle the most about learning Affinity Designer ? I’m still fine-tuning the plan for the first quarter of 2017, so I’ll be taking suggestions until Dec 15th. Thank you all in advance! Cheers!

  15. While procrastinating for loads of work that I should've done like yesterday... I started to sketch this guy out... until the point it got finished haha... and that's the magic of procrastination... made with Designer :) Hope you like it!
  16. I started by using Designer to build the vector shapes of the hat, and filled the shapes with gradients. In Pixel persona I used texturizing brushes (from Frankentoon) for tinting and shading. Some additional lines, smooting and adding noise was done in AP as well as lighting. The seamless integration between the two programs makes me just love them...
  17. Hello everybody! This is my latest illustration in Affinity Designer using Frankentoon's newest brush pack: Texturizer Pro hope you dig! :)
  18. After several months of work, Frankentoon website is a reality now and this is the first published tutorial Beardly Morris the Pirate. You can expect the second one this very friday. At the moment the website feels a little bit "empty", 'cause I'm working simultaneously on several tasks to get it 100% complete (design tweaks, SEO, more sections, more information, social media maintenance, etc). As a welcome gift for all new subscribers, I've created a small free vector pack as a direct download delivered to your email. This first pack is already being expanded with more than 20 extra objects. People who's already in, will receive the update in a few days in their inboxes :) . I'm planning to release a free vector pack every 6 weeks. Here's a preview of the first one: Your feedback is very, very, very important at this initial stage, so if you have a couple of minutes to check this tutorial, I will be more than happy with your feedback, good and bad!. I'm specially looking forward to bad feedback in order to improve the site as more as I can, so you can have the best possible user experience in the future. If you have comments about the website, would be awesome too! (mobile version is expected to be done by this friday too, so if you browse this tutorial from a mobile device, would look a little bit weird). Hope you enjoy! :)
