  1. As film photographers, we often work with film scanners. The "Hasselblad X5" is an excellent choice for film scanning, and the RAW format of this scanner is (*.FFF). I have been looking forward to Affinity supporting its (*.fff) format so that we can directly use Affinity to process (*.fff) files and use it to de-mask negatives, calibrate colors... Rather than open another software to handle this format separately. To be honest, I don't know what Affinity's future development plans are, but I do hope that the authorities will support this image format in time to bring a new experience to film photographers.
  2. I've set up my master pages for my publishing project. I've checked my formatting multiple times and everything looks to be set the way I want it. When I am pulling in my text and images from external files, Publisher is ignoring my settings, specifically my text flow settings. I've taken a picture of my master settings for the page I'm loading and what my loaded page looks like without the text flow working. Since I'm new to this I know there is some simple setting on the program that I'm overlooking. I hope those of you with more experience can help me.
  3. I am new to Affinity Publisher and have several issues re IMDL import. FYI I do not have these issues in Quark. 1. The graphics show up as big question marks even though Publisher knows where the link is. 2. Affinity did not import style accurately for the numbered list with hanging indent. The numbers appear as 1.0Example line one and I cannot see where to get rid of ".0" Also I cannot get the spacing I want between lines on the list. The is a huge space 8pt? between lines using any number after 0, even when space is set to 0 before and 0.4 after paragraph 1.0Profit model (how companies make money) 2.0Network (how companies connect with others to create value) 3.0Structure (how companies align talent and assets) I can get the list the way I want (see attached) in a new file but when I paste it into the imported IMDL file I can't keep the style. At any rate that is a tedious workaround. I should be able to import docs with minimal Please advise . Thanks.
  4. Hello, I am new here and this is my first post. In Affinity Publisher I encounter three problems that in my opinion need to be solved urgently in one of the next updates. 1. function or Tool for formatting and format-change The following scenario is an example, magazine insert: Let us assume that a formatting for the body text (Body 1) was found in the layout process. The process continues, at some point a font is found that you like even better. You make a format for this too (Body 2). This will be used from now on. But what about the text components that are still linked to the old format (Body 1). You want to reformat all texts that are still linked to the Body 1 format into the new Body format in one go. This is what Affinity Publisher does not provide a function for, neither in the context menu of the Text Style panel, nor elsewhere. Now you would have to go into all texts linket to Body 1, detach all Body 1-text from that format first, and assign that piece of text to Body 2, manually. This might be a good idea for a flyer. With longer articles, or a complex non-fiction book etc. this becomes an imposition. Here a function should definitely be implemented. For simple formatting work I also miss a tool for format transfer or direct formatting, for example a pipette. 2. font management I miss a good font management within Affinity Publisher. For example, to replace entire font sets and optionally update already created formats. 3. a professional search & replace function including GREP Thanks!
  5. I have set up a master page (2 page spread) with page numbers bottom left on left pages, and bottom right on right pages (along with text and picture boxes). I have written over 100 pages, with no problems - all is as it should be at this point. I need to insert a single page part way through the document. When I do this, the placement of the page numbers is thrown out - from the insert point on, the page numbers are on the opposite side of where the master has them. To try and solve this, I tried to reapply the master to the affected pages, only to have all the text in the textboxes disappear. Next thought (after reading the online help) was to have 2 masters - one with the background, text and picture boxes, and a second master with just the page numbers. The online help calls this set up: Using multiple hierarchical master pages (Master pages can be applied to other master pages in more complex documents. For example, a 'parent' master page containing just page numbering could be applied to 'child' multiple master pages colored separately for each section. This means you only need to change the page numbering styling on the parent master page; also, as you create new pages you only need assign a child master page while inheriting page numbering automatically from its parent.) Will this solve the problem? and how do you do it? Or, is there a better way? Thanks Garry
