  1. Is there a solution for the Flood Select problem where the tool selects the whole picture instead of for instance the sky...? There's a big contrast in brightness and yet Flood Select ( the magic wand) cannot find the borders..... I bought the program this afternoon, so maybe it's my lack of understanding things... Cheers, Willem.
  2. I'm trying to select just the shirt, but no amount of tolerance will let me select it. (I select the whitespace/transparency and then invert selection) There's always a fuzz around it. I should not need to use refine for this. Photoshop does this without issue Example at 90% Tolerance File AF Version 1.8.5.703 Selection Tolerance Test.afphoto
  3. The Flood Select tool apparently does not work on Image layers. Works fine on pixel layers but not on image layers which is pretty inconvenient. And I'm not talking about editing or drawing on the Image layer, but only selecting the desired parts of it with the Flood Select tool to for example make a mask from that selection or paint inside the selection on another layer to name just two cases where it would be helpful.
  4. Whenever I want to make a fill on a new layer, I am forced to go to the layer that provides the colors I want to sample from, make a selection there, then go back to my empty layer and then color the selection. This is kind of a lot of work for a fairly basic functionality that is crucial for coloring line art, where you have to create lots of separate color layers. I know painting is not your priority, but from another point of view, seeing how you like to advertise this non-destructive workflow (which I LOVE btw!), I do not see much use for a tool that is only able to realize its full potential (namely edge detection with tolerance) when it is allowed to overwrite your base layer.
  5. Hi everyone, When using the flood select tool, you allways get a selection of 100% which can be what you want in some cases and in others not! I rather expected to be able to select an area and get also somehow a blurred selection rather as you do by using the "Select sampled color" comand in the select menue. But this "select sampled color" comand is hidden . And alsoits sometimes difficult to realy judge, with the "select sampled color" command , to judge, what you realy selected, because the selecion corner only shows the 50% area... So both tools can be improved together in workflow with the Quick mask toggle.. Here comes my idea as a jpg file. Tell me what you think about it.. Tom
  6. Hello, I'm starting with Affinity. Please help. I am trying to select the bright background by using flood select. I set as in the tutorial https://vimeo.com/130975378, ie. New - Contiguos checked. After that I click and drag, the selection will appear with a number of dots in a row in the same location, even when you drag every other way. I have Windows 7, Aero is running. Thank you. I have already solved.
  7. When using the flood select tool, when I set the tolerance and then click on the area to be selected, the tolerance changes all by itself down to 2-4%! I can't get it to stay where I set it. This is on a macbook pro running 10.10.3 ,Affinity ~24665. See: https://www.dropbox.com/s/oc9xcxz0bvz8qtb/Affinity%20Flood%20select%20Problem.mov?dl=0
  8. Hi, I noticed that when I'm using the Flood Select Tool, I only see the normal mouse pointer and not the corresponding icon, e.g. when I use the Rectangular Marquee a cross is displayed. Greetings Steven
