  1. Hi peeps, Here a time-lapse on a flat illustration for my learning channel on affinity vectors and bitmaps. As usual, you can slow down the video on settings to get better insights. Also you can ask questions and make comments on my channel. Cheers all! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-LChvQzzmM

    Flatiful Color Palette

I wanted a base palette that I could use on my illustrations, with a range of shades, and highlights/shadows for each. So I made my own: It's a good starting point for illustrations, icons & UI work. There's more than 100 swatches, nicely organized. Comes in several formats, of course .afpalette included. Grab it over at CreativeMarket!

    Affinity Designer - Buildings

Hello everyone ^-^ I've been using Affinity Photo since it first came out on the iPad Pro and now own both Photo and Designer on the Mac and loving them <3 I've started to play around with different styles for some buildings I've been working on for a game. What do you think? Thank you for your time and I hope you have a great day.

  5. Hi all I bring a time-lapse more than a tutorial for this week. However, I explain how to slow it down so you can follow along if interested. You can also ask me how I did this or that, as usual. Kiss!
  6. Hi I did this flat style illustration of a Volkswagen van and a tutorial on how I created it. There's more in my youtube channel if interested. Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0c9f270zFU Thanks.
  7. Hi, I've been using Affinity now for two professional projects and it's good. I noticed there are a few panels which can be consolidated to use the same template as the layers panel, this would lower the API surface area and improve maintainability over time. Just my 2 cents.
  8. Hello everyone, I thought it would be nice to share my first illustrations made ever, enjoy :) I saw a finished picture of a how-to-draw-a-castle tutorial and I tried to copy it without actually following the tutorial itself. This one is incomplete tho. My greetings.

  10. Hey everyone, I have to say, affinity has made my workflow so much faster and I cannot wait for more improvements! I'd like to show some of my artwork I have made with affinity. These are flat design of a camera, DJ MARSHMELLO, and a KA-BAR. Camera DJ MARSHMELLO KA-BAR I cannot believe what affinity offers and how much its has decreased my workflow time. 11. What do ya'll think of my attempt at making a flat version of my profile pic? Does it portray a crocodile with sunglasses and pony ears?
  12. After the recent popularity of my flat icon tutorial, I decided to start a tutorial series focusing on the principles of flat design. In this first tutorial, I focus on basic shapes and flat colors. As an example, I walk through how to make a flat iMac icon like I posted before. To view the tutorial, click here. Hope you like it!

    Flat Mac (Mockup)

Hey guys, so after seeing the infamous "flat mac" freebie mockup available online, I was inspired to attempt to recreate it using only Affinity Designer. Thoughts?
  14. Vic Asecas on our Facebook page asked about creating a long shadow, it would be good to have in future. Here's the example effect Vic wants to achieve: When I had a play I struggled to make it look as good, it seemed to me that the effect can be approximated with dark shapes and a gradient transparency, but the gradient has a straight profile perpendicular to the gradient path. In Illustrator, this effect can be achieved using blended copies of objects that go from e.g. 20% opacity down to 0% with a blend spacing of e.g. 1pt. Even with a long shadow this produces vector banding like the bad old days, so I'm sure there's a nicer way we could achieve it. Mesh fills would be one possibility, obviously the Blend tool on the roadmap is another, but maybe a Long Shadow layer effect/tool is another possibility?
