  1. Hi all, I’ve Recently purchased iPad version of both Affinty Photo and Designer. One thing and probably one of very few things that bother me and preventing me from switching completely from Adobe is that all Affinity software display DNG and X3F file incorrectly (all software up to date). The DNG filed would open as blank black on iPad, low resolution on Mac and X3F (from Sigma SD Quattro camera) would have weird noise blotches and the whole photo would be over exposed, to an unusable degree. Here is a screenshot for one of the examples. Please let me know if anyone has the same issues, or is it just limited to DNG from a specific camera brand. Hope Serif would release a patch/update for this in the future. Best, Duong

    File type?

How do I simply see what file type I’m working with? I import a raw image from Lightroom mobile. I want to make sure it’s not importing a jpeg copy but the original raw file. Should be very easy in the metadata but it’s not there.

Layer blend mode "Transfer" and .psd

Hey everyone! I'm not sure if this is a bug or just a limitation of the .psd file type, but when using the layer blend mode "Transfer", opening exported .psd files from Affinity Designer (maybe Photo as well?) will not have the layer blend mode set to "Transfer", nor can I change any layer's mode to "Transfer". Is this layer blend mode specific to Affinity software? (I am using Designer 1.6.0.) If so, is there a way to approximate the effect of the "Transfer" layer mode? I am trying to export files for using in Procreate with the layers not being flattened. Best wishes, Shu
  4. Affinity Photo v 1.5.1.54 Windows 10.1 Macros are saved as *.afmacro files. But Macro Library only recognises *afmacros files. So a saved macro is not visible to Library - import macros. In fact, an *afmacro file is entirely invisible to A.P.. Adding the missing final "s" to the file name does not cure the problem as Affinity Photo then declares the renamed *macros file as having an "Unexpected Macros Format". A macro can be saved but not used again. I have 770 images files in need of a macro-driven batch job. Please tell me I don't have to do it manually, 770 times.

The File Type Is Not Supported

Hi guys, Running AD on Windows 10. Sorry for starting a new topic for similar threads written here & here but there wasn't an answer so I'm posting as well. I have been working on a project & suddenly it won't open & the message box pops up with "The File Type Is Not Supported" this is very annoying as I spent a little bit of time on it trying to learn AD. Is there a reason why this is happening to (I presume windows users)? Before this happened for the last few days I got message boxes saying something like "Couldn't open file. Do you want to open a recovery file" which I did and the file opened. But now it's not working Tried attaching the file but it kept saying "No file was selected for upload" so attached it in a zip file. Also attached the message box. All & any help appreciated. nield_cube.zip
  6. I've purchased Photo and Designer both, although my preference is to use Designer. I've spent many hours learning from the Affinity tutorials (good job making those too!) I'm not a graphic designer by trade, but love creating my own business graphics. To this end I'm working on a project that I started in Designer, but all of a sudden I could not find the clone tool. Nor did I find it in the help section. So I go over to Photo and sure enough, there is a clone tool. However, when I go to bring up my saved file from Designer (afdesign), Photo says it can't open that file type? Do I have to 'export' the file from Designer simply to work on this one small area of the project in Photo? Honestly, this may be enough to drive me back to Photoshop. I already have tons of actions and styles I can't use in Affinity products - at least as far as I can tell. I understand having different versions of a product, but there are some things that seem universal - including not just copying an area, but needing to clone a particular layer in another area. This is a file I'd created in Photoshop many moons ago. Thanks for any assistance! Debbie
