  1. Sometimes I lock the objects but I still want to snap to them. I hope it's possible to add an option to check on the Snapping's options panel.
  2. Hi I’d like to ask if there is an option to have bigger grains when adding noise to an image on Affinity Photo for iPad. Thank you in advance!
  3. I have been searching for a while now, but cant find any "select same colour" feature. All I can find is a feature request post from 4 years ago asking for this. Surely this rudimental feature has been implimented by now. Selecting and replacing a colour is one of the main benefits of vector work, to not have this seems crazy to me. I know the dev team is small and your product is so superior to Adobe is so many ways, but missing fundamental features like this makes it unusable for real world projects. I hope I am being a dullard and a select same colour feature is available. If not please add it to the top of the list of features in the next update.
  4. A feature to hide (but not delete) pages in an Affinity Publisher document is much needed. This should take into account proper page renumbering (or the ability to include "disabled pages" in the numbering). When exporting, the hidden pages should of course not be displayed.
  5. What I'm thinking of is an alternative to the classic layers: a node editor, where each layer would now be a node, with a mask and before input, so that you can reuse layer groups. What I'm thinking of: Each node has inputs and outputs depending on the type (example blur: input=image, radius form=type, radius, output=image) Creating groups and naming them storing created groups as global templates (like macros, but as components that can be stored) adding custom inputs to groups with custom labels maybe sharing groups online? (like as a marketplace for quick templates) As an orientation for how it would work, I would like something like Blender 3Ds node editor. As for how it's integrated into the UI, either it's a separate editor that you need to toggle on/off on a per-project basis, or it's a layer (like a node layer or something) that then opens a UI
  6. I had the pleasure of using Aldus and Macromedia Freehand back in the day. Many of its features I still miss in Illustrator, Affinity Designer and others. One of them is to be able to convert any vector line into a Guide. Straight lines, bezier curves, standard shapes, custom shapes - all had the option "Make Guide" which made it very convenient to construct geometrical designs - like a double point perspective projection. This was so easy to do with Freehand, draw a horizon line, the perspective points, set up the perspective lines, make guide and lock them in place. The guides in Affinity across the board are so lackluster in comparison to how they worked in Freehand. Please please, pretty please make Affinity Designer more like the modern age Freehand and start with the power and flexibility of its Guides system. Thanks :)
  7. Hi, Currently, the only way to blend objects in Affinity is to use the gradient tool and copy object 1000 times. A dedicated Blend Tool would simplify this process and save time for users. Current method: Suggested (like Xara Designer or Adobe Illustrator):
  8. I think highlight new features on menus could help user easier examine them. Not just for all version but for big leap versions/big updates I guess.
  9. Hi Symbols in Designer is a great feature. However, I need Symbols in Photo too since I do most of my art in Affinity Photo. I re-use and change multiple “objects” when creating a game scene. Symbols are later exported to Unity. I have complete software series so I can use symbols when switching to Designer Persona in Publisher. This is an issue since Affinity Publisher removes other features like Export Persona that I need. My request is to enable Symbols in Affinity Photo too. (The embedded document option is not a good solution for my work). Best regards
  10. Hello Serif Team ! This message to submit a suggestion : The ability to work with out of canvas elements displayed. Right now, we are able to see out of canvas elements by clicking on the "crop" tool and, next, by enabling the display option. That's good, but you can't continue to work in this mode, it's just a "preview". The ideal implementation would be to add an option in the preferences under the "user interface" section to allow to realy work with every element displayed. In this mode, the canvas wouldn't crop anything anymore. This option exists in Gimp. Best regards, Sébastien
  11. First off, Affinity is a stellar piece of kit. I am a very satisfied customer. However there is a small oversight that is really strange and I think should be fixed. So, I checked the help section, which was incredibly useful and very well designed, lovely experience. and I couldn't find any way to add strokes to selections. This seems like a really weird oversight. Krita and Medibang can do this, photoshop can, and so can gimp, but Affinity can't and that does sour the experience in an otherwise fantastic piece of software. I hope this feature is added to affinity photo in the near future. the selection tools available are nothing short of spectacular, so it seems strange that there is no option to add a stroke with a pixel line or a current brush when everything else is really good. I am doing this on 2 fold: 1 I wanna help affinity as much as I am able, especially since its a reasonably priced 1 off payment. 2 I don't want myself or those who have similar opposition to adobe as i do, come crawling back to photoshop. I will continue to explore this app and report my findings and thoughts here to help the devs keep this tool awesome for everyone who uses it. Will also be down in the future to keep buying software from you guys should you continue to take a stab at adobe. I'll be happy to give money and feedback. Photo is such an incredible piece of kit, and I want to help make sure that everyone who needs it doesn't have to crawl back to adobe over some silly trifles. I will gladly give some of my time to the devs of photo if they want me to test the implementation of this. Have a nice day everyone.
  12. Hey everyone, I've been working with Affinity Publisher for quite some time now (actually I'm a day one user) and before that I worked over half a decade with the equivalent of the big A. So, I'd like to think I already have some experience with DTP software. Still, here I am coming back to questions that arise every now and then when working with interdependent Text Styles. (Some things I never quite get used to, heh. 😅) Question: Is there any documentation or overview of the different options (I know, there are a lot) or a section in the FAQ or help file that I missed that helps to explain them and the context/requirements? Just as an example: I am currently stuck and wondering how (and if at all) I can combine a pragraph style with a character style, So if I change the character style, all the associated paragraph styles adapt as well? Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! For those wondering what the heck is he talking about, here's a screenshot of the first tab in the left list – there are many more options:
  13. I'm trying to combine these two curves into one. Optimally, this should result in a sharp point at the intersection. Other programs like Illustrator or Blender solve this problem with a knife tool or similar. I can't find any information about how to do this online. Please help. Thanks in advance.
  14. Feature Request: Missing fonts imported as Bitmap that can convert to a default text if you need to edit them. I work with a lot of simple PSD files for my work and I am transitioning to Affinity but its super bothersome that it lacks this feature from Photoshop where I can open a design and missing fonts will be displayed as pixels/bitmaps but if I use the text tool I can edit only the text boxes I need. Sometimes I just need to change a phone number on a design. With Affinity my options are everything is Bitmap or everything's text. I'm suggesting a smart hybrid where its all bitmap but converts to a generic font if you need to edit it similar to how Photoshop handles it. It seems like you have everything you need already in the software to make this suggestion happen it just needs to be dynamically there rather than all or nothing. Thanks.
  15. Hello handsome and intelligent developers! I have a small feature request. Currently with the node tool, when editing a shape, if you single click on a line between 2 nodes, it adds a node. This is super useful! But i notice that a double click on a current node does nothing at all. Double clicking a node with the node tool to delete it would be a great use for this currently unused action, and just another way to make the node tool a left-hand-free tool (since right now, to delete a node, i have to click it and then remove my hand from home row to hit the delete button). Let me know if you think this is a good idea!
  16. Hi all, Not sure if I am missing it, but is there some kind of shape interpolation feature in Affinity Designer? I swear I read it before, but I can’t seem to find the functionality. The idea is to have two shapes or paths (ie, a curved and a straight one), and having the software calculate the intermediate forms depending on the number of defined steps between them. Much appreciated for the help.
  17. For me, the i'd welcome the Slice Tool being able to Snap to Grid. Better still would be for it be able to detect snapping constraints in similiar fashion to the node/pen tools.
  18. Can you designate an exclusive panel for what has to do with the administration of the "artboards"?, something like what illustrator has. Just so you don't accumulate a bunch of "Artboards", each with its own layers (be it a few or a lot) in the layers panel. Some way to show, in the layers panel, only the layers corresponding to the "Artboard" in which we are working, for greater order.
  19. I will be happy if you could add the "Shape Builder" tool to Affinity Designer like in Adobe illustrator it will be very helpful. This feature will go with Affinity Designer to the next level. I hope that you will take my request into consideration. Thank you
  20. Any chance there will be a Caption feature in Publisher? Preferably one that works better than InDesign does! Essentially, you'd set up a paragraph style for photo captions, then right click an image and tell it to insert the caption (either static or live). Even more awesome would be if there was a better way to automatically say how it should line up (with the bottom edge of the caption level with the bottom edge of the photo, etc.) and to expand (up/down or sideways) to allow for the amount of text in the caption. Attaching IDs current settings for this feature, though only for clarification on what I'm talking about. :-)
  21. Can you implement a function in the node tool that allows us to remove a node with one click? Maybe using a modifier key (Shift, Ctrl, or Alt) + click on the node we want to remove; or simply by clicking on an existing node. Something like this: Thanks! 😉
  22. Is there a way to change or replace a created contour and fill style for all instances after it has been applied to many objects?
  23. Hi Affinity, I currently have two main issues when getting files out for game development. (I appreciate my needs may be different from the crowd and could be at the bottom of the pile on account). Current flow for the majority of my work. -Create artwork using Layers/Groups named with export names. -Use the 'Create slice' from currently selected object. -This works great as it uses the name of the object - good clean files easily understood. However... the size of the slice generated is almost always not what I want. The slice seems to be generated from the bounding box of the object selected (plus all it's children and adjustment layers). If I add a vector mask to the layer/group the slice generated is still of the entire bounding box not the vector mask bounding box. The result is I have to manually resize (sometimes over 100) slices! Feel my pain? Q1. Could the slice generated take the bounding box of a vector mask if it's applied to the object (the one who's name is used)? And if so could it retain the link so that if the mask is resized the slice is resized. That would give me rock solid slices. Export sizes are very restrictive. I often want to export smaller and larger and not always at 1x 2x 3x Currently I'm having to batch files I want smaller through photoplop which brings me out in an itchy rash :) Q2. As a quick-ish fix could there be another tick box which allows users to type in a scale. 0.5 for example? I appreciate everyone at Affinity is working really hard and you get all sorts of requests daily. I've been using Affinity in production now on our games since it's release and exporting has been my biggest hurdle since day 1 otherwise I love it and you guys rock.
