I am still learning this app. I have a gif file, I created a new pixel layer from the background and am trying to use the erase tool. I have the circle showing but it does nothing. afaics I do the same thing on a png or jpg and it erases as I expect. Does it not work with gif?
Becky Stilley posted a topic in Affinity on Desktop Questions (Mac and Windows)Day before yesterday I was able to open a JPEG and then go to Pixel Persona, then Erase Brush Tool, and then use the tool and pixels were easily enlarged and removed with the erase. This tool is not working. Please help. Is there someone I could speak to verbally. I have good computer skills and can be walked through the issue I'm sure. I've also tried to use the Pen tool to mark the outline of the object and it doesn't seem to work properly for me either. I suspect I have some tool enabled or disabled that needs to be reset. I've reviewed many Vimeo and YouTube tutorials I did see where I found I could use rasterize assistance and easily trace around the object I'm trying to crop (remove the background) and then I cannot figure out how to eliminate the background or make it 'clear'. If you have a link to a tutorial that would walk me through these issues, as listed above, then I'm happy to try those too. Do you have a telephone help line? I promise not to misuse it. As you can see I've been trying to resolve this for two days on my own. The instructions you sent did allow me to see pixels, however the Erase Brush Tool is doing nothing to my JPEG. Do I need Affinity Photo to make this process easier? Thank you, Becky
cnoble posted a topic in (Pre 1.7) Bugs on MacPrior to the 1.6 update I was able to use the erase brush tool to erase part of an adjustment layer, like HSL adjustment (perhaps there is a better way to do this with masking--though I don't think masking works now either). Now nothing happens when I try that, nor when select an area and hit delete--and I'm 99.999% sure it used to work because I've done it before several times. Unless I'm losing my marbles...
