  1. I was following along in a tutorial video and found that my 1.8 Affinity Designer did not have the Eraser tool. I've some other features the software does not have that was in the older version of the Designer.
  2. I have a pretty simple problem, but I can't find a simple solution and I'm confident there must be an easy way to do what I'd like to do. Hoping someone here can point out the obvious to me. Background pixel layer of watercolor art, semi-opaque white rectangle (rasterized) overlaid on the whole thing. I'd like to be able to selectively cut out of this overlayer to expose the watercolor color underneath. I want the detail of a brush pattern in my deletions, but want my deletions as vectors (so they're editable) which rules out the Erase Brush Tool. I've tried just making my patterns in a normal, vector brush design and blending the layers, but the "erase" blend mode doesn't do what I thought it would. Do I need to use a mask? Hoping to avoid using selection tool because that doesn't capture the details of a brush. Any help is appreciated.
  3. I am a novice. I have been using the File, Place tool to place fairy wing overlay document png type (invisible background layer) files over background images, and then using the erase brush tool to clean up (erase the overlay) from the face and chest area. Its worked beautifully for days, but today it does not work for me, and I can't figure out why its changed? I did notice the assistant started coming on, with notes about rasterising the layer, but I selected to undo the action, and the assistant is disabled. I thought this would stop my issue. I think I want to be able to erase from a vector layer freely.... So, my process has been to open my picture, place my png overlay, and erase any "interference" over the subject's face... in PS I learned only briefly to use the paint brush tool to paint the overly in black over the overlay to "reveal" the area underneath, but that technique is not working either.... Thanks, OnTheWander
  4. When using AD in Pixel Persona with Wacom tablet (an old Grapphire 3), the Erase brush tool dismisses each time the tablet pen loses and and get again the recognition signal from the tablet pad. In that case, Erase brush becomes no longer active. Instead previous tool is selected (be it either Marquee or Paint Brush). In other words, when erasing a pixel image continously, everything is OK, but when you lift the tablet pen too high over the pad and then lower it again, previous tool gets activated.
