  1. Hello, I have a problem on AD for iPad. My illustration of eps files that are exported from AD for iPad are always refused to upload to Shutterstock. The reject reason is because the file is less than 4MP. I found out that the eps file size is smaller than the original size. The original file size is always more than 4MP (for example 11000px X 4000px, 5000px X 5000px). However, the exported eps file size is 2052.8px X 647.4px, 1200px X 1200px... I do not find out the rule of the percentage to be shrunk so I do not expect what size I should set the original file. I would like to upload eps files to shutterstock because that is gradually more needed in the world. I attached screen shots. "IMG_0323" shows eps artboard size and "IMG_0324" shows original art board size. Please help me.
  2. Whenever we are opening EPS Files in any Affinity Software, we have strange seperation lines which were not visible in ADOBE Software. Is there a Solution to this Problem? Thank you!
  3. Importing a PDF or (the same file as) AI-File with some gradients bring a very disturbed result. Also the exported PDF looks like the preview on the screen. See attached screenshot. If I resave the .AI as EPS and import this to AP 1.7.0.293, the preview on the screen isnt very nice but close on the original - the exported PDF looks like it should. If someone of serif needs the .ai, please PM or answer on this thread.
  4. Hello. Tell me please, is it possible to export files drawn on the iPad in EPS format, if there are objects with different transparency in the file, so that these objects remain vector? I tried to export such a file, all objects become raster.
  5. When i try to open a clients Logo in eps-format i always get a error message. "The File could not be parsed". It´s important to open it cause it´s a project i have do finish in the next 10 days. Find attached the file. Best regards Michael EVA_logo_farbe.eps
  6. I am using Affinity Photo Desktop 1.6.11. I am trying to open an EPS file, but only part of the file opens and can be manipulated. The top and the left side of the image is cropped, and those elements of the image do not show up in the list of layers. (See screenshot -- there should be a fifth book on top of the red one; that fifth book shows up when I open the file in Preview.) What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!
  7. Hello, I bought a vector logo through Shutterstoch (did that on previous occasions too) but this time this eps opens in greyscale. Aff. Designer seems to asign this automatically. I searched for a solution only to find they were working on it. Is there already a solution? I attached the eps file to this post. I really really need to make this work. Many thanks for your help, Virginie shutterstock_746303764.eps
  8. Hello I have a problem with .eps files. Im using the latest Affinity Designer for Windows version and .eps files from Freepik look like the picture I attached. There is some kind of mesh visible, instead of smooth gradients. Any way to fix it? It's crucial for me. Thanks!
  9. Has anyone tried to use an eps vector file from shutterstock? The file size is ca. 8MB, so obviously it contains a lot of data. But when I open it with Affinity Designer, I only see a bitmap image of a very low resolution (something like 60 dpi). Shutterstock claims the file is a valid eps and opens correctly with Adobe or Corel. Looks like AD has some kind of problem with these files. Is this a known problem, or should we file a bug report somewhere?
  10. When I open an EPS (logo over white background) I am unable to make a selection with either the Selection Brush or Flood Select. I can make a selection with the Rectangular Marquee tool, but if I select some of the white background to the side of the logo and hit delete, the logo goes away. I only have one layer so I'm not sure what's going on. Additionally, PDF files seem to work the same way. I have tried flattening the images first and that gives some more options, but still not everything works. When I open a PNG screen capture all tools function normally. I am new to Affinity Photo and it seems to be really powerful and I'm sure this is operator error. I have looked at the forum and tutorials and cannot find topics on these particular issues. I would appreciate your help. Thank you.
  11. In this video, we have shown how to export EPS files in the Affinity Designer for Coreldraw and Illustrator.
  12. I found an overprint bug in Affinity Designer 1.6.1 (from App store). 1. EPS logo dropped into sign 2. export or using slices with "Overprint Black" checked will actually set all colors to overprint, even when the colors are not set to overprint in the original file. There is rarely a case that anything should overprint other than black. 3. This only happens with EPS files. As you can see in the screenshot from Acrobat that the PDF to the right did not overprint but is correct. Unchecking the box "Overprint Black" in the More dialog box will enable it to not overprint all the other colors but that is just a workaround and could cause other problems.
  13. Affinity community, I need your help! I'm fairly new to Affinity Designer and I'd like to use some brushes which are available throughout the web. While I have no problems importing afbrushes, it seems to be impossible to do the same with ai and eps. I could not find any working solution both in the Affinity help and the forum. Let me illustrate the problem with an example. I got a pack of brushes at this website and unzipped it on my MacBook. In AD, I tried to import the brushes, like always, by navigating to the brushes panel and clicking import brushes. If I click the button, I can move to the unzipped folder where I eventually see ai as well as eps brushes. But as you can see in the screenshot, the respective brushes are greyed out—no matter if in draw or pixel persona. On this page, Affinity says that one would be able to import both brushes. And if I open an eps brush by right clicking open with, AD opens them as you can see in the second screenshot. But then, I don't no what to do to use them as brushes. So I would be very happy, if you could help me to solve my problem/confusion. Besides the aforementioned problem: AD rocks! Cheers, Ali
  14. I draw vector lines in my ipad with affinity designer but after exporting my file to eps it broke when it opened in an adobe illustrator. Please look at the attachments. I want to copy my vector lines in to adobe illustrator.
  15. Hello, I'm having trouble exporting a design from the Beta version to the stable version. Copying and pasting doesn't work. Making a new file from clipboard doesn't work. Exporting to SVG or EPS resulted in many many issues, such as raster shapes, wrong shapes, etc. Is this a Beta limitation or am I doing something wrong?

    EPS not loading

Hi, I'm using Affinity Designer and Photo, and I figure out a bug using a Mac OS X HighSierra 10.13.6 (memory: 8GB, 1TB HD) The bug: Some EPS files don't open. An example: This file from Freepik - when I try to open this on Designer or Photo, it crashes Mac. If I don't Force Quit, all the system turns into completely unusable. Another bug with EPS: the file open with nothing. Completely white. But it opens good in another softwares. An Exemple is: Alfaparf Milano logo from Brands of the world website The result is exactly the same using Designer or Photo. Best Regards, Anderson Costa
  17. Hi I have problem about file export. I was try to drag file from export page as ”EPS” into shutterstock website but it shown that the file was ”.svg.ps” instead of ”eps”. cheers,
  18. Hello, I just download the free trial for Affinity Designer. I work with a lot of stock artwork, and most of the files are EPS. When I open any EPS in AD, the images are horribly pixelated. Is there a work-around? I'm so tired of Creative Cloud and the total inability to get tech support. Really hoping I can find an alternative! Cheri :D
  19. Hi, I just purchased designer so I can produce vectors for shutterstock. How do I export to eps 8 or 10? Thanks

    EPS import screws document

When importing an EPS from iStock it is completely screwed in Affinity Designer. Please look at the attachment. Do I need to set up any profiles prior to import?
  21. Hi, I've seen other eps topics but none seem to fit my issue. I get eps files from a research client that needs some extra work dome to them. When I use a viewer such as epsviewer I can see all elements, but when I open with AD many elements are gone such as text, solid lines, and the figure legend. Thanks for any help! example.eps
  22. I recently finished a project for a client to test Designer in a production environment. This mostly went quite well until I got a very odd request from the printer. They asked that the files be delivered as AI or EPS with all images linked and provided as separate files. This set off a rather frustrating day of trying to find a way to get the files to the printer as specified. I did get it "working" but it was a very messy process: Export from Designer as PDF Open PDF in Illustrator Manually move all template elements to a new layer Copy out any rasterized elements to Photoshop Save these as tiffs relink the files save final eps I've been trying to figure out a simpler way to do this with just affinity products and I'm a bit stuck. The problem lies with the use of gradients on the strokes. When exported as an EPS from Designer, these strokes are expanded and the gradient is turned into an image fill. This makes it impractical to accommodate the printers needs. Exporting as a PDF still expands the strokes, but at least the gradients come in as unknown vector data. Does anyone know a way I can get Affinity to export the EPS with all elements that it rasterizes as linked? I've attached the file for anyone if they want to give it a go. TuckBox_Final.afdesign
  23. Hello When I export an image with spot colours as TIFF or EPS, the spot colours don't appear in the exported image. It looks like they are converted to CMYK. They do appear in an exported PDF but I haven't checked any other format. Thanks! Bauke

AP 1.6.0 - Cannot open EPS files

Hello, I have several EPS files which I can no longer open since I updated to AD 1.6.0 (MAS version). When trying to open such a file, AD often takes a really long time "loading" the document and afterwards, the only thing I get is a blank page. I can see all the layers in the layer view though. The behavior is the same on all of my machines: Retina iMac 2015, 16GB RAM, SSD with APFS, macOS High Sierra Retina MacBook Pro, 16 GB RAM, SSD with HFS+, macOS Sierra MacBook late 2008, 4GB RAM, SSD with HFS+, macOS High Sierra Is there anything I can do to solve this? Thanks & best regards Oliver Matuschin
  25. Is it possible to export a graphics to .eps without outlining all the paths? I tried different options but any time I open exported file, I can not change it without redrawing all the stuff.
