    Ellipse Stroke Bug

I went to use the Ellipse shape tool and the stroke on the ellipse shape went all "wacky". That is the only way to explain it. Please see attached video. Also, if you need the file where this bug occurred please message me privately for it. I could only replicate this issue in the one file. In a new file there was no issue. Ellipse Stroke Bug 01.m4v
  3. First off let me say that I love the feature of the ellipse tool, specifically the donut and pie features. I'm currious, in regards to the pie feature, do we have the option of removing the line connecting accross the ellipse, basically opening up the shape? CorelDRAW has this feature where when you drag the ellipse open, if you currsor is on outside of the ellipse the line goes away and if you are inside it stays. Of course Illustrator has the feature that allows you to change the thinkness of a line anywhere on the line, kind of line using the Pressure tool in AD. I find these features helpful when creating think/thin lines for technical illustrations. Please see attached illustration. The blue line has no connector line going across the major axis.

    Odd artefacts on standard ellipse

I've been using v1.6 in beta for a long time, but I'm seeing something new having recently upgraded to High Sierra. These are two standard ellipses, around 120px in diameter. Depending on the view magnification, I see odd artefacts and jagged edges. I know that Expand Stroke is still problematic, but these are not expanded. It makes working a little bit odd and scary. I'm using Metal. And this is based on a wipe and clean install of High Sierra, so there should be no issue with macOS.
  5. Hi! I've just uploaded another tutorial on Affinity Designer. This one is about converting simple rectangles and ellipses into more complex shapes. If you like it, give it a thumbs up and leave a comment. Thanks! https://youtu.be/SeNhPOyE2kI
  6. Hi all, I am looking for topics on Parallel Projections. What I was hoping to find was a method of drawing on axis. Example: with the isometric grid on, select the left side and draw a circle. Because you are in isometric mode your circle shows as an ellipse. I have been able to find the topic in Help, but that didn't "help". Thanks in advance.
  7. Hello, I have a problem with the aspect ratio, if I´m drawing a ellipse or a square. In the optionfield "transform" if i set the aspect ratio to locked and i resize the object with the mouse, it doesn´t matter if i set it locked or not. It´s only working if I´m pushing the shift button. Only if I´m setting the value manual, it´s locking it. I don´t know if this is wished or bug, it just confuses me a bit. Cheers, christian
  8. I am trying to convert a cluster of ellipses in a graph into a different shape (triangle, square, etc....). Is there a quick way to do this? Thanks,
  9. In my AD map docs there are many ellipses in one layer/group to show site locations. They are 40x20 pts in size with a stroke of 6 pts. I would like to resize them all 85% to 34x17 pts, and if possible reduce the stroke by 85% at the same time. In Illustrator I did this by "Transform Each" since transforming the entire group/layer would also reduce the width and height of the entire group and thus reposition of each ellipse. AD also treats the layer/group as unit, reflected in the width and height in Transform. Does AD have such a feature as Illustrator "Transform Each?"
  10. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has found out how to easily make isometric circles or ellipses in Affinity Designer? In Illustrator, I could draw an isometric side of a cube, and use Effects > Stylize > Round Corners and set the value to max. When using the Rounded Corners tool in Affinity, it doesn't seem to product the same results. Any ideas? Thanks!
  11. Hey guys! Congratulaitons for being in the headlines again – awesome work, well deserved! Here’s the little bug or at least strange/interesting behavior … I recorded a short clip to show you what’s going on. I’m talking about the outline being »cut off« at a certain angle, like it’s placed inside a rectangle or something. https://youtu.be/dnI82z2VViA Cheers Dennis ;)
  12. Hi everyone, I'm new with this tool and I just want to know how to crop a part of an image with a circle of an exact size, for example with a radius of 8.50 cm. I have been trying to do that with Ellipse Tool but I can't see any box to enter a size and I've been searching through this forum but I didn't found anything to help me. Maybe is something obvious but I can't see that. Thanks in advance and regards. Daniel.
