  1. The Bulk treatment of CR2 make the software close without any modification. even just a format change (CR2 to TIFF or JPG). this is not working either when bulk modifying with a built in or a custom macro script (color, exposition, etc...). Version 1.10.5 (build 1342)
  2. I'm experiencing a lot of issues when exporting my CR2 to another format. There is a lot of white line appearing randomly. I need to export 5 or 6 times to reduce this effect. I'm using version 1.10.5 (build 1342)
  3. Good afternoon, I'm looking for a setting which will enable histogram clipping warning(s) in whites and blacks when I begin the .cr2 raw edit process. My basic standard latitude image process in Bridge is: Exposure Blacks to clip then back White balance Whites to clip then back Shadows Highlights Blacks again to minor clip, then back. The clip indicator is important to me. How do I enable it? Thank you in advance, Ben
  4. So, am I doing something wrong, or is the default dpi when the CR.3 file is developed 72???
  6. hi everybody! have a serius problem with Affinity Photo. to develop raw files (cr2) I open "Sviluppo Persona", after adjusting settings (really very few adjustment), so I click Sviluppo to switch to Persona Foto to export my work in Jpg...but the transition from sviluppo persona to persona foto (for every photo) is very slow! what's the problem? Really is too slow. I can't work in this way. VERY BAD!!! Ps: Work on Mac
  7. Hi there! I recently started using RAW rather then JPEG for my photos and I'm somewhat confused. In both, Windows and macOS, when previewing CR2 files in the preview tools that come with the OS, the images load and for a moment they look (sometimes drastically) different than when loaded in Affinity Photo. It takes maybe a second or so and the images seem to be processed, after which they look like they do in Affinity Photo. On macOS, with XnViewMP, it always displays that "unprocessed" version, it seems. Can someone explain what's happening here?
  8. Hello together, I am aware that there have been threads on this topic, but none of them provided a solition. My problem: I've been in the process of developing some cr2 from my Canon 80D when the develop persona opened the raw files way too dark all of a sudden. This happened in between two images. One image opened just fine - the next one turned out way too dark (see attached image). The thing that makes me really wonder what happened: When I now open the first one which worked normally, it now opens too dark, too. Even though it has worked before. I can't seem to find a solution to this problem and it breaks the software for me. I am dependant on a working develop persona and in the middle of delivering a set of pictures to a client. I love Affinity Photo + Designer and would be sad if I had to switch to Adobe because of this :-/ Any help is appreciated. Have a nice weekend!
  9. 1.8.3.641 - WIN 10 latested updates - clean new reset of PC and therefore new installation of Affinity Photo. NVIDIA GTX 650 - newest driver 446.14 EIZO CS 2730 Also installed: Affinity Designer 1.83.641 + Affitity Publisher 1.83.641 and Capture One 13.1.0.162 (all downloaded today). --------- Hello, I'm new to the forum and didn't really find a similar problem description on Google. Therefore I'll ask here: When I open an image in Affinity Photo for the very first time via "File -> Open..." it often instantly crashes. When I retry with the same file at the same source there is no problem anymore. I first thought it had something to do with the fact, that the images are on a OneDrive directory (already downloaded before), but now, on my new clean system, it also crashed 2 times with local only images. Now, after approx. 10-15 tries with other files and sources, it works well. But I am afraid it will happen again when I do not expect it. I use DNG from Ricoh GR 3 and CR2 from Canon EOS 6. Strangley enough a have the same behaviour on my iPad Air 3 with the latest Affinity Photo App when I use "Import from cloud" and open files from OneDrive. Does anyone have an idea what can be the reason? I have not experienced such a behaviour in version under 1.83. Thank you very much in advanced. Best regards.
  10. Hello, I have imported a CR2 file (EOS 80D) into Affinity Photo (Windows) Unfortunately the color representation does not fit and differs from the jpg. But in the normal display in Windows both pictures look identical. What can I do? Thanks Schrimm
  11. Opening a Canon (.cr2) RAW file (ISO 500) in Affinity Photo (V 1.6.7) results in corners that appear to be burnt out, as though by a bright lamp. The corners are black and then there's a bright white line that bleeds into the photo a bit. This is on an iMac running Mojave 10.14. It doesn't happen with every file. I can't predict when it will happen. The "burnt out" corners only appear when loaded into Affinity. They are not present when the file is viewed in Finder. It persists when I press Develop and are also there after I export to .jpeg. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I have a new Canon 6D Mark ii. When I bring my raw CR2 files into Affinity they are doing a very dramatic flickering. I can still use the controls, though I can't see what effect they are having because of the flickering. The flickering is only in the image area itself, not the whole program and not the whole screen. When I apply the raw adjustments and save the file they seem to have worked and the saved file has no flickering. Previous Canon CR2 files from different older cameras had worked fine in Affinity. Is this a file problem or a setting problem or a bug in Affinity? James
  13. CR2 files appear corrupted when opened in AF on iPad Pro (file is first imported straight into Photos on iPad Pro either via card reader or camera wifi). However, the same file imports fine into macOS /Windows version of AF. I've tried this with two cameras and multiple cards - same result. If converted to TIFF on desktop, it imports back to iOS without issues.
  14. Maybe this is already covered elsewhere in this forum. Whenever I try to open a CR2 (EOS 5D Mark III) raw I get a dimension of the image which differs from every other image editing tool. In Photo the size is 5796 x 3870, everywhere else 5760 x 3840. Just curious: Where are the extra pixels coming from?
  15. When I open a CR2 file it looks washed out and dull compared to the JPEG. I am using a Canon EOS M. Here's an example - CR2 on left and JPEG on right. (I have tried searching for this problem but can't find an answer anywhere.)
  16. Hi there, I just purchased affinity and imported RAW (CR2) files but it looks like Affinity doesn't support it. The images displayed on Affinity are pinkish in colour. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Canon 6D Mark II I had recently bought. I wouldn't think it's the SD card because that would save what type of files we select. There's no issues importing jpeg files. Does anyone have a solution to this? Thanks in advance. Nick
  17. Hello, I've recently purchased AF and it's my first serious image processing software so I'm still learning. However, one thing that has been driving me crazy from day 1 is that AF keeps distorting the RAW images (I use Canon EOS 6D, .cr2 raw files): not only it's visually distorted, it greatly looses in sharpness and I can't get the sharpness back. Here is an example image (files attached): one image (canon.jpeg) was converted from raw to jpeg in a free software with basic functionality (Digital Photo Professional) that comes with Canon cameras, I didn't do any modifications, just conversion. The second photo is the result of developing in AF. In AF I imported the raw file, turned off the lens corrections in Develop Assistant, Raw Engine is Serif Labs, the only one I seem to have, then pressed develop and then exported as jpeg. You can clearly see from the attached files how much is the AF result is of inferior quality: it's not sharp, the thin grass has turned into a strange mish-mash and the image is distorted ("bend" outwards?) I created a gif just to demonstrate it, the reddish image is the result from AF. How can I prevent AF from distorting the image like this? The experience of working with this software has been extremely frustrating so far as I seem to spend most of the time trying to fix the mess that AF makes of the image rather than doing the post-processing I want. I'd appreciate any help with this!
  18. In October I replaced my trusty Canon 40D with a Canon 77D and I bought Affinity as an alternative Photoshop, as my version would not open the Canon 77D raw files without a purple layer. I've not really used Affinity in processing RAW images until these last few days whilst I've being on holiday for the festive period. Now I've noticed there seem to have an issue when importing the Raw files into Affinity, all the colour seems to be missing, or washed out. Even the histograms are different. I'm using the camera to take both RAW and Large JPG images. I've attached some images to show what I mean. I've looked at other threads but all the things it suggests I've not being able to make a difference to the RAW import. Any help on this issue would be greatly received. Im more than happy using the JPG's but I would like to edit the RAW images with the colours in which they were actually shot.
  19. Hello everyone! I take the photos with Canon 6D, when I open the raw files with windows 10 photo app and Irfan view, everything goes well. the color is just fine. but when I open it with affinity photo, it shows more red and color bands between bright and dark parts. can anybody make an explanation? I attached 2 photos here, be aware that the model has some fat granule on the face this may cause discomfort.
  20. Hello everyone, I’m a beginner photographer and I got some problems using this app. I transferred my raw photos taken on my old trusty 6D to my iPad Pro (iOS 11) and the original iPad photo app is showing a huge difference compared to the imported image in Affinity photo. I think the problem is because I set my camera to increase sharpness & saturation however the raw file didn’t reveal those modifications done by my camera. I have tried to adjust HSL, Curve, exposure and so many things but I just can’t get the color right. I really want that color, that feeling shown in my camera as well as in the origional iPad photo app. Is there any solution such as adding the preset or something? Thank you so much for the help! As seen below, the raw image is so fade out because of the exposure issue. After adjustment I can get some pinkish color but definitely not this darken red color.
  21. Hi As I drag a RAW file from Photos app (Macbook, High Sierra) to Affinity it apparently converts it to JPEG, as Affinity doesn't open the Develop Persona. When I try to open raw file from File -> Open, I cannot find any of those files. When I open them in Photos app, they are in CR2 format and I can edit them normally in Photos apps own editor. I've already tried to change the RAW engine. My camera is Canon 700D What should I try next? Eetu
  22. Hi, I have tried several times to open CR2 files taken with my Canon 5D MK IV. Unfortunately 99% of the pictures I am opening are not aligned and seem to be corrupted when opening with the Affinity Photo 1.6.6 app on my MAC. The picture seems to be opening in different rectangular parts that are not aligned and making an overall pic... As the problem is difficult to explain I have attached a picture and hope anyone can help me to get this resolved. I can handle JPG or TIFF files without a problem. Looks like the pronblem also occures when opening DNG files. So has perhaps something to do with RAW material??? I have tried HDR stack with CR2 and DNG files but non are working and always result in I this corrupted pics. I hope somebody can help me with this one :-/ Regards Tom
  23. Hi, I'm interested in buying this software for ipad. I've read that you need to use icloud to import photos into RAW. Is this still true or has it been solved with the new versions? I would like to import directly from SD. Thank you!
  24. I am using a 2012 MacBookPro with OS X 10.8.5 I do not want to update my OS as I am then forced to use Adobe Cloud LR and PS, which I do not want to do. I am trying to move away from LR6 and CS6 and am working more and more on AP. My one challenge with AP 1.5.2 is that my Fujifilm (RAF) and Canon (CR2) RAW files load very slowly in AP. It takes approximately 35 seconds to open a RAF file, and a further 15 seconds to get it into the Develop Persona. A RAW file opens in about 15 seconds and another 5 seconds for Develop Persona. The CR2 file opens immediately in CS6, so it cannot be the Macbook. I cannot open the RAF file in SC6 as my version of SC6 do not recognise the RAF files. Any suggestions to help speed up the process will be very helpful and will be greatly appreciated.
  25. Windows 10 OS, CR2 raw files, When I open a CRW raw image the develop persona opens complete with a 'Develop' tab and a 'Cancel' tab. I believe this is as it should be. If I open a CR2 image produced by my EOS760D or EOS7D the image opens in develop persona but without either the 'Develop' or 'Cancel' tabs. When I close the image I receive a message telling me to either 'complete' or 'cancel'. At this stage I cannot complete since I am unable to access the 'Export' command, and since I do not have a 'Cancel' tab, I cannot cancel either. On some occasions I needed to go to Task Manager to close Affinity and then re-start. I have checked, and both raw files from both cameras are listed as supported. Can you check if this will eventually be corrected?
