  1. So I wanted to detect a certain color using the color picker tool and then switch to the brush tool and start drawing, however, if I try to do this, Affinity Photo picks the other color and not the color picked up by the color picker. Is there any way to either change an option so the color picked up gets used as the brush color or is there a keyboard shortcut to change those two colors?
  2. I just have two questions (and probably more later) 1. how do you temporarily hide selections? in Photoshop, you can do this by pressing Ctrl+H. I often use this feature when i'm painting and prefer not to constantly ticking boxes or selecting something. its much faster if I can just assign a key to it so I can use it on my drawing tablet's express key. 2. when using the color picker, a big sphere/circle will appear in order for me to get a good view of what the color i'm selecting. is there a way to disable this sphere/circle? or atleast maybe reduce it size? cause unfortunately its too distracting as it blocks a large portion of whatever drawing/image is behind it.
  3. Hello guys, I recently ran into some freezes with the version 1.8.3.641 of Affinity Designer on Windows 10 when using the Color Picker Tool. I haven't tested this with previous versions. Most but not every time I use the color picker tool while some objects selected (doesn't seem to matter which size or number) my whole computer freezes. After a while it's possible to use use the mouse again and switch to other programs. Clicking into Affinity will lead to another temporary freeze, eventually leading to a windows alert about the software not responding. Watching the Taskmanager shows that Affinity keeps using an continuously increasing amount of memory and disc capacity...seems to be some kind of memory leak there. If Affinity Designer is closed with the Taskmanager the system goes back to normal after a few minutes The settings of the color picker tool don't seem to make a difference for the occurrence of the bug. Using the color picker tool with no objects selected works fine There's no problem on re-opening Affinity Designer and work again (with other tools) You'll find my computers specifications in the attached image. Maybe someone else could test if the problem is an overall issue. Hope it helps on improving this great software. Stay healthy.
  4. My windows just had to be updated to the latest version of Win 10 and updated to latest of Affinity. I tried to use the color picker tool in the color picker section on the right of the screenlayout and it doesn't pick anything; no color at at.. I just sent in a screen grab of my layers section on that side of affin also which does not work correctly either. help
  5. I don't believe I've ever seen this question or an answer for it before. In the color picker tool there is a radius that can set to an area to be averaged for the color. If I select a 5x5 area, how big is this area? How do I know if a 5 unit square will cover the area I need and not bleed into an area not wanted? All the Help says is: Radius—Choose to sample from directly under the cursor (Point 1x1) or from differently sized square areas where the color is averaged. My guess is this is the number of screen pixels to be averaged. So if I have about 109 pixels per inch on my screen, then each pixel is about 9/1000 of an inch. So if I have selected 129x129 then everything that is in a square about 1-1/4 inch wide and high with the cursor centered in it will be averaged. Regardless of the zoom. So 5x5 would be an area about 0.046 inches (about 3/64") square. So if I zoom in on a pixelated image where each displayed pixel is maybe 0.1" square a setting of 5x5 will still only read that pixel in the image. When trying to average out a dithered image I would have to use a setting significantly larger setting or zoom way out. Is this correct?
  6. When in the Color picker tool (eyedropper) changes of the layer selected from the layer panel do not change which layer is indicated by the blue outline in the drawing. I don't know if this is related to this report of not.
  7. Hi.. I use this document setup: type: print (press ready) color format: cmyk/8 color profile: U. S. web coated (SWOP) v2 But I have some issues, when I choose the color on the box, and I pick that color with "color picker tool" to coloring another object, the result is totally different, only cmyk code is the same. Yes I can just copy the #xxxxxx code to coloring another object, but I want to use that color picker tool because it's simple. And the client usually use AI to open eps file, I tried to export my files from affinity to eps file, and open it in AI, and yes the color code is changing, I'm confused :p Please help me to solve this issues. Thank you for your attention :)
