  1. Hi Team, In navigating document, brush will leave marks on canvas while using shortcuts. Is also the same for using mouse or other input device so believe if it is bug related to Affinity Photo. It is ok for painting men with beards, but not suitable for princesses :) I am not sure if this is default behaviour? I would love to see a fix for it though so asking the question here. affinity designer brush spots

I don't know if it is a Wacom driver related issue, but using a Cintiq 13HD in Designer's pixel persona, the brush drops full-size dots accidentally. (as if Designer window loses focus time to time) Either in Windows ink mode or not. (tablet preferences). The ancient times it was an issue in Photoshop too.
  3. Hey guys, I just started playing with Affinity. I played around with drawing in it but I seem to be getting some jitter lines. Hopefully you can see it If compared to Krita I am using a Cintiq 13hd.
  4. Hi! Just started working with AD and really love it, but I've got a couple of things that don't work so smooth. First of all, I work with a Cintiq 22' touch. I would like to use the zoom slider on the back but it doesn't zoom. How can this be fixed? Undo in AD is different than in photoshop. I would like to change the shortcut to 'alt-command-z', but when I do this it only enters 'z'. How can this be fixed? Many thanks!

    Brush lines feedback

Hello! So I bought Affinity Photo just the other day and I am really liking this program. However, since there have been reported issues of jagged lines when drawing, especially with tablets, I tried out the Beta for 1.6 to see if the issue was fixed. First things first, the new stabilizer feature is an improvement over the live version, which I have an example of with this first attempt at doing some lineart with the software (I used Lazy Nezumi Pro, but there are still artifacts of jagged lines in there when zooming in). As I said before, the jagged lines are improved upon in 1.6, but there is still one problem that really hampers my ability to create quick, smooth lines. The new version can handle straight lines pretty well, but when it comes to curved lines, there seems to be some form of input lag going on when I first begin the stroke (I am not using a regular brush, so the edges are rough on purpose). As can be clearly seen here, the brush strokes start off by not being able to recognize when I begin to sweep my pen in one direction, instead creating this edged curve that then practically disappears once a certain period of time has gone by (this also affects brush size based on pen pressure to an extent). However, the brush still creates a little bit of jagged lines in curves when it appears that it can't keep up with the speed that I draw in. While not as bad as in the live version, this makes me have to slow down my drawing/painting to the point where I have to wait every time for the program to properly respond to the input I am giving it through my Wacom Cintiq 13 inch HD tablet. If there is some solution to this, I will be able to drop Photoshop as my go to program fairly quickly.
  6. Hi. Is there any timescale yet for when the jagged brush stroke issue will be fixed for Wacom cintiq companion users? I first reported this when the beta build was out and I just tried the latest wacom drivers with latest Affinity photo to find the problem still persists. This is not slight wobble from an unsteady hand it is the jagged pixelated jumpy brush stroke that only occurs in affinity photo and photoshop elements for me. All other software works fine with the cintiq companion. Without some kind of brush stabilisation the software is unusable to me as a photoshop replacement for painting and inking. Thanks. previous posts - https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/27924-disappointing-experiences-with-brush-tool/ https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/27428-jagged-brush/ top affinity, bottom photoshop cc. I reduced spacing as much as possible and reduced hardness. Also when my cursor hovers over an area the strokes appear to vibrate almost like marching ants, hard on the eyes.

  8. hi.. i frequently have a problem when i open a 2nd file - the affinity window looks ok, but the buttons just don't work when i use my cintiq. the only way to deal with it, is saving all what needs to be saved, and reopen it.
  9. Hello guys, first of all thank you for all the amazing softwares, both Designer and Photo. I'm having some troubles with the Wacom Cintiq: when I use "alt" (or any other modifier) to draw vectors on Affinity Designer with my Macbook Pro it works perfectly well, but when I press these buttons and I'm drawing on the screen of the Wacom Cintiq they don't work. Example: I want to draw a straight line, so keep "alt" pushed and it works on the Macbook pro but not on the Wacom Cintiq. The strange thing is that it works on my Mac Pro 5.1 where I still have the old OS (El Captain), but it doesn't on the laptop, where I've upgraded to Sierra. Thank you in advance for your help! PS: I'm having trouble with the upgrade of the latest version of the drivers for the Cintiq both on the macbook pro and mac pro...but still, on the mac pro everything works smooth.

    Vector brush

Hi, Just bought a copy of Affinity Designer. So smooth and lovely to use, especially the bezier handles! I'm using the software with a Wacom Cintiq and have found the Vector brush is rather unreliable. Although the line drawn seems to respond perfectly to the pressure applied, when it is is turned into a bezier curve the shape doesn't seem to match. Sometimes it's close; other times it is completely different, showing no change in line width at all. The similar function in Adobe Illustrator works absolutely fine. Is this a known bug? Having the pressure profile graph is fantastic, but I wonder if this could be resizable to make even finer adjustments possible? Steve.
  11. With Cintiq, "Pinch to Zoom" is not working in AD (working per usual in other apps) after Yosemite update. Scrolling is working. Whatever setting i was using with the touchring stopped working in AD - have reverted to cmd+ Ahh, right; my question (to assuage my fears of creeping dementia): Was pinch to zoom working with AD in 10.9 (with Cintiq)?
  12. Hello again folks, Sorry for all the questions...... Having played about with Designer using the mouse only (so I can get used to it), this afternoon I've tried painting some fur on my creature using the Cintiq13HD. But to do this effectively I want to use the Paint Brush tool on a Pixel Layer and pressure sensitivity of the Cintiq's stylus. But for some reason I cannot get the pressure sensitivity to work..... Anyone know how to set this up effectively? Thanks in advance, George
