Hi guys, I am fairly new to photo editing in general and Affinity photo in particular. However, I have used affinity photo since the last release and now I am using the 18.104.22.168 build. I like it a lot, but I have experienced one bug so far. It is a little annoying bug. I have startet to take pictures in RAW, as I have a Nikon camera the file format is .NEF. When I load the RAW image in Affinity photo I do not get any camera data. It just says "no camera data" at the top. I am missing my used optics settings etc. If I check the properties of the files in Windows, I see all the information that I want to be shown in Affinity. If I open the files in Nikons program Capture NX-D, I can also see the information. At first I thought there were some kind of problem with the .NEF files so I opened the files in Capture NX-D, exported them to .Tiff files and then opened them in Affinity, but I still couldn't see the camera data. So there seems to be a problem with camera data information for RAW files in general for Affinity photo. Does anybody else have the same problem as me ? Is this something you can adress in the next release ? Other than this bug I am very happy with my purchase so far and I want to say thanks to Serif for a good photo editing software !
When opening a single raw file, the related camera data are recognized, lens name is shown and raw processing has proper result. At least on windows 10 operating system. When opening 3 raw files as new HDR merge, during reading of first image the message "no camera data" appears and there is no lens name shown. Later on when files 2 and 3 are processed the message disappears and lens name shows up correct. The merge result however seems to be a mixture of corrected and not corrected images (lens distortion is not completely corrected and edges show darker vignettes). This is to be seen on windows 10 Pro and Windows 7 Pro operating systems.
Developping Raw Files, AP 22.214.171.124 very often does not recognize camera data and subsequently will not perform lens correction. In Raw persona as well as in tone mapping persona (new HDR stack..) the display shows 0 or "no camera data" text instead of lens name when opening GH-4 Raw file(s). This behaviour seems to change from time to time without notice. But in spite of investigating that for a while I could not find a reason behind that so far. The only thing I can tell is, that the same Raw files opened with Photoshop CS 6 do not show any innormal behaviour and lens data are always displayed in correct manner. The same is valid for ACDSee Ultimate 10. Please advice what I could try to improve that disturbing behaviour. Edit: On Windows 10 notebook the problem seems not to happen. Best regards
