    DAUB Mosaic

Well... (update...) A set of 6 simple stupid tools to vent your obsessive-compulsive disorder  These brushes offer a ramp shaped to jitter hues and luminosity of the colour you're painting with. Download here Happy mosaic!
  2. Hi! Pigmento is a set of 84 raster brushes carefully handcrafted for digital painters Designed for Affinity Photo and Designer, this set offer natural media look and feel. Acrylics, Gouaches, Oils and more with expressive colour dynamics and tablet responsiveness to speed, pressure and direction. Now updated with DAUB Spatula set (12 new tools for Paint Mixer Tool) and a new classification: you'll find them in different categories, hopefully now it should be easier to spot the correct tool! Check this video for a quick sample! This set is fully compatible with Windows and iOS Version of Affinity. This is a quick concept done using one of the included tool, to show the colour dynamic and blending features. Some Tips DAUB Grunge Acrylic 4 This is a brush that creates nice textures with a glaze effect and continuous tone modulation using pen pressure. You can use it as a pure cover changing the blending mode to Normal. Do you know that with Pixel tool presets if you press CMD key while painting you can erase using the same preset? Get it here I'll improve these tool with free updates, so if you want those please add your real email to the purchase page. Happy Painting! Paolo
  3. Hello, This is my first post however I have been reading all the questions and getting great info on this forum. The one thing I am having trouble finding is more vector brushes specifically a few dry brush strokes. I’ve watched a couple tutorial on how to make brushes but am having trouble making a good dry brush stroke. My question is does anyone know where I can find some or does anyone have a couple to share. Thanks for any help or direction you can give.
  4. Hi! If you're having problems while importing resources in AD/AP for iOS try the following: 1) Put the .afbrushes in your iCloud folder 2) Exit AD/AP 3) Open Files App 4) Tap the iCloud folder you put these in 5) Tap the .afbrushes file to make it properly synced (the tiny "cloud icon" must disappear) 6) Open AD and attempt the import again This procedure should work fine. Cheers! Paolo
  5. With buying and downloading all the brushes, I'm getting overloaded on choices and switching bakc and forth between brushes. Could there be a "favorites" and "last used" sets of brushes? Perhaps your last 10 or 15 brushes used? And, with Favorites you could have an option in the edit that would add it to your favorites? thanks!
  6. Project Brush Organics Re-visited Created some new brushes mainly for backgrounds..or anything else and decided to explore the new brush features in AD 1.7 a little deeper.. So... Added new Project Brush Organics Set (based on some of my first brush efforts but with new nozzles and edited brush dynamics) Containing..as usual: 30 new Raster Brushes using sampled image bitmaps rather than drawn vectors (mostly!) [ProjectBrush - Organics.zip] PDF sample sheet as attached Extras However, as the new brush engine is so versatile... you are presented with so many fantastic options that small changes create greater varied effects/results to brush appearance. Therefore instead of developing a 120 brush set (as before).. I have included: 30 additional Nozzles (.png) and image references to extend the options [Nozzle Extras.zip] Secondary Brush set which only includes single nozzle samples (as sample jpg) so you can see what effect they have alone. [Project Brush - Nozzle.zip] Templates/Presets Having the option of adding Sub-Brushes can make it a bit more time-consuming creating single brushes...So I added the option of using' Brush Templates' as a starting point...These simply have different configurations of nozzles at the parent and sub-brush level (makes things a bit quicker and saved on some repetitive actions!) [Project Brush - Brush Templates.zip] Duplicate the template then Switch nozzles from sample set or anything else created! Being able to duplicate from the context menu (right-click on brush) on brush panel makes this really easy.. PROJECT BRUSH -Organics 01 01.pdf ProjectBrush - Organics.zip Extras Elements Nozzles 30 additional Nozzles for brush variation add to templates/single nozzle brushes as required (have fun!) Nozzle Extras.zip Secondary Brush 30 raster brush set containing only single nozzle without sub - brushes Project Brush - NOZZLE BRUSH.zip Version 1.7 Brush Templates Use as basis for editing Project Brush - Brush Templates.zip
  7. Hi all This is a new small sample set of brushes I have been working on for several months with base textures, seamless patterns with mixed vector/bitmap nozzles. It is a larger single set containing 30 raster brushes I have changed the numeric s slightly on the brush reference sheet (it's just a number!) Sample sheet is attached enjoy! Arrow Brush

I have seen this topic come up pretty often and thought maybe I should post this resource here. I know some people need to have native vector arrow shapes in their work so I created a brush for that you can use until arrows are implemented fully in the the application. Just import them into your brush pallet. cheers :) Ronnies Arrow Brush set.afbrushes.zip
  10. Im not sure how useful or good they are, but I made some vector brushes.. useful for me, and if anyone can use them, here you go :-) i made them for the love of vintage lettering styles, and I use it for backgrounds, like the old Sanborn Maps style.. Anyway, as I’m quite new to brush making, I’m sure they can be improved, and if I do, I’ll update them here :-) hope it it will be useful for some :-) and they can be downloaded from here.. feel free to give feedback.. good or bad is welcome as long as it is constructive:-) 276ccm Vintage Lines.afbrushes

    Brush won't reset to default

I'm trying to just get a basic brush but everything that says 'reset' doesn't rest them (under more button and also under preferences pane)...any other ideas or is this a bug?
  12. Hi all, please add the option to create a brush from selection, I really can't see why we have to export a brush shape only to import it back in, it seems a very convoluted and needless process. Brush from selection would streamline the process of brush creation substantially.
  13. I have been able to produce signature and logo brushes in Photo which work well. It would be nice for custom brushes to propagate to other Affinity applications automatically, so they could be used without sending projects back to Photo to insert logos and signatures. If that is happening already, and I'm missing something, please let me know. Thank you.
  14. Hi I just installed the new beta and gave it a bit of a whirl. so far the issues I`m seeing are as follows 1. using the square bracket keys to increase/decrease brush size is not working 2. redraw on blur, smudge etc brushes is very slow and resulted in a lock up 3.procedural texture needs sliders not equations. I can't figure out how to experiment with this at all! I suck at math and even simple algebra is very difficult for me but give sliders to visually experiment and this filter will become useful. as it is i can't use it at all. 4. Filter forge 7 works for me with the stable version but generates an error with the beta.
  15. Hello, I just started using some smoke brushes from the Affinity store. The brushes are black. How do I change the color of the brush, so that I can change it into white? Thanks

    DAUB Pencils

Hi! I want to share with you this small set of pencils. Some of these tools feature Angle (Tilt) variance but you need a tablet that support it. Don't have so much inspiration today to add some samples, but will do it for sure later This set doesn't work on iPad because required settings are not yet there. It will work with proper textures once the matching of iOS/Desktop version has been completed. Hope you'll enjoy it! Happy sketching! UPDATE Just uploaded a v1.1 with these two new pieces Some things to know... This new release works with MAS versions of Affinity range, but to have proper tilt dynamic latest Beta of AP or AD is needed. Special thanks to Andy Somerfield for custom ramps... 18. i have a feeling that i accidentally deleted a pre-installed brush under pencils and charcoal brushes of affinity designer for ipad pro. I counted all the brushes of pencils and charcoal and there were 20 pre-installed brushes there. Did i just deleted a brush? Please let me know how to restore it. Thanks.
  19. Upper right corner of the brush studio (not the icon to add brushes) but right below it. I'm using the Mac version and it doesn't do anything for me. Looking for a way to display only the thumbnail and not the brush strokes. I guess this is not yet possible. But curious of what that icon is for.
  20. Hi guys. I purchased this vector brush pack from the Affinity Store a day or two ago and just now had the chance to play around with it -- and I'm a little confused. When I zoom in on a brush stroke, or when the stroke size is too large, it looks blurry, as if it was a raster brush. Am I doing something wrong here? Are these not vector brushes?

  22. Hello everyone ! Happy to share this with you today; Yes i'm back because power outage was fixed in my suburb but only for few hours then we may go back into ... no power at all for the time or number of days they decide . Not a problem at all as opportunity is given and i take it on both hands. Now let's move ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Review and propositions for Affinity Designer 1.7.0.2 (also applicable to Affinity Photo and Publisher too) Well the new Affinity Designer load faster than what I've seen up to now and i'm really really happy with it and can just imagine how great would be the final version. Brushes are more fluid and easy to use and they flow in more natural way, it's simply a pleasure to make use of it. BUT !, because there is always a but in stages like this ! These are the few problems or difficulties i had with (that is existing since old versions): Brushes Loading was really fast (just drag and drop and click Ok) .afassets, .afpalette, and .afstyles still can't be added or loaded to the software by selecting them from the file browser using the drag and drop method. From the import window opening i can only select one item after another, would be very useful if select all is activated allowing to select everything compatible within the same folder then just click Ok/Add for the software start loading them. My Proposition to the above problem this is a proposition i have for the above problem i encountered and still encounter: Well, to me a good Fix would bean Assistant working similar to a font manager but a bit differently. It would ask the user where is the folder with desired stuffs to load then that kind of resource manager would scan that folder looking for everything compatible (palettes, brushes, styles, macros, etc.) then display it in a list (like when we try to add PS stuffs on Affinity) they would be classified by categories with level of usability and trust (orange, green and red etc.), from that place we would make our choice to activate and/or approve whatever we want (on a column with check boxes ON/OFF) and the software would just load our choice then after it is done we would receive a DONE message. That solution would make it even simple and take less minutes than leaving it to us to manually load them one by one and could be very helpful even for those using the iPad version and who have their stuffs somewhere on the iCloud. Please think about this, it may save lives. This is what I like from the new (affinity Photo) beta version : The icon used on the top bar to indicate the different personas are far away better than what Affinity had, it's more refined and i personally feel better looking at it, now left the tools icons, they need a refresh like you did with the personas icons: Please implement it on the next Affinity Designer, they are simple and beautiful. This is what i believe Serif should start thinking about or add in this beta cycle: 1- A rotate on plane functionality that will help us to rotate subjects such as shapes, beveled/extruded texts, curves etc... thus moving one step close to a real 3D capability 2- Make Designer more capable of making UI/UX with new functions or simply revised functions and why not bringing the Prototyping Persona where all prototyping for Ui/UX guys to feel at home and create the best they can or want. 3- The Fill Tool used to create gradient must now become curvable, allowing the user that create a gradient to also bend it or curve it in one or another direction or even or draw circles or complex lines with it, to me, it will make it possible to create the "up to now" impossible multicolored curved gradient that ever existed (maybe it does exist somewhere else and just don't know about... ) Well, that's everything i wanted to share with you and even bring up to light, may you have advice or corrections, please feel free, it will help us all grow ! Blessings !
  23. Hi. I'm pretty green to AP and have just started really using it. I can NOT find my brush pallet. I know I had one on the right hand side because I had imported some in from photoshop. What could have happened?
  24. It would be very useful to be able to create vector patterns and brushes. Having to use rasterized images to use as pattern fills or brushes is not really acceptable and certainly not what I expect from a vector art program. I would like to create a vector graphic and be able to use it as vector art on strokes and I'd like to create vector patterns and fill shapes with this vector pattern.

    The Box Set by Wren

About The Box Set is hundreds of vector and raster brushes made for Affinity Photo & Designer. Each brush was handmade using real materials scanned at high resolutions and crafted to simulate real media. I wanted the origin of the brushes to have a heritage of the materials they are simulating. Scanning pools of watercolor, swatches of paint, and stipples of charcoal contributed to creating brushes with the same idiosyncratic material magic. My only request is that you take these brushes, with their clever names, as suggestions. They work superbly out of the box, but I strongly encourage you to adjust the sliders, rearrange or remove the textures, and discover how they can suit your hand(s). Make. Discover. Repeat. Cheers and happy art making, -Jef (WREN) RASTER BRUSHES For use in Affinity Photo and Designer. The blending brush in the Oil Set is the only one exclusive to Affinity Photo. DRAFTING INK OIL Oil Brush Dynamics Most oil brushes have blending built into pen pressure. With a single brush and hue you can adjust the luminosity of the stroke- giving it an oily blend. The Brush's color in the example above is the color of the background. A normal pressure gives you the hue without any lightening or darkening.
