I'm a member of a Music Production/DJ group called Ultimate Rejects (UR). This piece was made using vectors and alot of stroke work with customized pressure graphs. The hand to the left is making the letter 'U' symbol in sign language and the hand on the right is making the letter 'R'. The hands were difficult too draw by memory as I'm not a natural artist so i drew it on paper first and imported a snapshot into the project. The image on the cap is our logo. Paying for artwork for our albums and singles became costly so I purchased AD & AP in Oct. 2016 so I def consider myself one of the 'day ones' lol. ~ Joel - Self taught Graphic Designer.
I use these forums quite a bit to discover how to use Affinity better. These forums however… I'm not sure what is powering them, I guess InVision? I think this is a sub par experience for a number of reasons: - Does not respond effectively to mobile devices - login/lout out is clunky and I often loose my session and have to re-login - Feels super old This last point is hard to nail down but should be fairly apparent. It feels like using a bbs/phpbb form from 2002~ish. There are a lot of great tools for managing communities and forums and as someone who used to work with clients who used InVision is not a good option. To put it simply This (https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/) and This (https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php) feel like they come from a different century. Some alternatives: - https://muut.com - http://www.discourse.org - http://zendesk.comexample>>> https://support.todoist.com/hc/en-us Apologies if this sounds overly negative, affinity designer is awesome.
pigfender posted a topic in Share your workHey all, I run an annual collaborative writing event, and used Designer to produce all of the brand materials associated with the event. The designs themselves are all pretty simple / minimal (as you'll see below), but I was impressed with what an intuitive and easy to use environment Designer was to play around with some ideas and refine them from within the program. Materials produced include the logo (below) which was then reused for things like the forum badge shown in my signature. I also produced a design for use on t-shirts and mugs... Like I said, all pretty minimal design but (hopefully you'll agree) good for the purpose and not too in-your-face or distracting.
