    cute Little penguin

I created this cute little penguin character in Designer. He started out as some basic shapes and I converted them to curves and added them together. Then I tweaked the resulting shape to create his body.

    Blue Hour Macro

I've been delving into Affinity photo and the macros As I like to learn by doing I recorded a quick little macro for enhancing blue hour shots. It deepens the blue and adds a little warmth at the same time with adjustable parameters for denoise, exposure and more I thought I'd share it here Blue Hour enhancer.afmacro
  4. Hi everyone, I am looking for the meaning of a few visual cues in the In the layers studio. What is the difference between nesting and clipping? Also the visual icons of a line through the center of your children layer versus a blue square on top of the selected layer. Please look at attached image for visual understanding. Screenshots are taking from the iPad version of affinity photo. But my question is for both the desktop and the iPad version. Thanks. Jg

    Collages

Hi guys, Illustration from a summer screenprint serie. Half Affinity Designer, half Photo. The capture was made afterward, rolling the saved history backward (neat function!). Best, P. > Video Making-of Final

    Colourful scooter designs

Time to hit the open road! Hi all, here are a couple of recent fun designs for my Redbubble store. Created in Designer 1.6 b4. I wanted to try something different with a mostly all line line style for a slightly more sophisticated look for products and clothing. The new lock and hide features really came in handy on this piece. If you're a Vespa or Lambretta fan you'll notice that the logos aren't exactly accurate. To avoid treading on any copyright issues I recreated and designed my own similar versions from scratch for these. Another aspect made easy in Designer. :-) More views at my store. https://www.redbubble.com/people/kevincreative?asc=u Vroom!!

    Shading with Gaussian Blur

I've been focusing on shaing and coloring techniques in Affinity Designer lately. With this Blue Cobalt Shot Glass, I used gaussian blur, layer blending modes (Color Burn and Average) and opacity to acheive the effect that I was looking for. What methods would you use? UPDATE 3/15/2015 Thank you for all of the great input. I'm including the following to this post: The original image I used for inspiration My .afdesign file so you can see the layers Further Explanation (What I was trying to acheive) My goal was to make this illustration as "real" as possible. I've been expirementing with Gaussian blur, gradients, blending modes and opacity to acheive realistic highlights and shading. blue_cobalt_glass_RE.afdesign
  9. Hey Gang.. :) Having a blast learning A.Designer. This is my first take on a vector drawing. I'll show more as soon as i get the time to work on this :) Oh, did i mention this is ALL freakin' VECTOR? yeah.. the light rays too... that seamlessly blend with the background :O the biggest wow for me was.. a layer above every other layer, which has a gradient, noise, and overlay blend mode.. it ties everything together sooo goood... i think im falling in love with you Affinity -.- but i have a girlfriend, darn...
