  1. Hello everyone this is my first post. I sincerely hope it's the right place/section… I also made a search on forums but I'm not sure to find the answer to my problem.... So, I’m not a pro in graphics, but I use Affinity Designer for a while now; I use it both for prototype software GUIs, and for print projects. When I do a print project, usually is for an indie music label I collaborate with: I download the template PDF file from print company website, I open it in AD, and I work on it.. I export… etc. I already did this several times. Now, I’m working on a new music release, but it looks like now AD opens the PDF without showing the crop marks and bleed. I’m not talking here on how to set up/view bleed on export etc: I imported a PDF already coming with this, but AD shows just the page. This is new, cause for previous projects AD displayed the full area. Some screenshots to explain myself: - PDF file.png - the PDF as I want to see it in AD :) - PDF in AD in older projects.png - in my older projects, this PDF file opens in AD with all crops and bleed stuff - I can view/hide these in layers - PDF in AD now.png - crops and bleed layers are still here (selected layers), but the page is "smaller" Is something changed with an update? Or I'm missing something? Maybe something stupid :p How can I set up things in order to see the PDF as it was in "PDF in AD in older projects" screenshot? I use Affinity 1.8.3 on Mac. Thanks for your help!
  2. I'm new to Affinity, and maybe I'm missing something, but I design and print labels for various products. I start with one file in Publisher that has the labels for a product type, then I'll export certain pages to a PDF, and import them into a new Publisher file that has the layout for the label sheets I'm using. Some designs have a bleed, and I always make sure to include bleed on export, but when I import (place) them into the new file, the bleed isn't included. I'll double check the pdf file dimensions to make sure the bleed is there, but the file gets trimmed to size when I import them. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?
  3. Greetings, I'm sure this may have been answered already, but I am having a big problem with exporting in Publisher and Designer. I'm really hoping someone can help with this... I've created a book cover for print, for a spiral bound book (which does not have a spine), and even though I have made the document with a transparent background, I always get a white background on PDF export. I have tried pretty much all exporting options. I have even exported front and back cover separately and then placed them in a full spread document, but still there is a white background where there should be a transparent one. Since my book is not published yet I've covered the artwork with rectangles, however the artwork for both front and back cover is fully rasterized (except for text which I choose to export as curves). Does anyone have any ideas? Does this happen upon grouping certain layers? Or maybe a bug with the Designer cropping tool? I also tried the solutions on both of these forums, but with no success: White bleed exporting bug Bleed always white
  4. Is there is reason why Bleed guides are not showing in Designer? Am I missing something or should be doing something?
  5. Hi Is there a setting I might be missing? I set-up a brochure for testing purposes using facing pages, but if I export it as single pages to PDF/X including document bleed, there is no bleed. There is bleed if I export it as the spreads. I can easily set-up as single pages next time, but I thought I might still have the option either way. Thanks Andy
