I understand linked files have been requested, and that request has been heard. I hope that when linked file support arrives, the following scenario is possible: 1. User links file into design document. 2. User saves and closes design document. 3. User moves linked file to new directory (during after-the-fact organization). 4. User opens design document. 5. Design document automatically updates link to file to respect new location. Is this something feasible to implement with the linked files feature? If so, would there be benefit to having the sub-feature be optional? Moderator Request: Please add something into the title of this post to represent the specific sub-feature being requested. I apologize for not being specific initially. I do not see how to update it now.
Hi all, I just installed the 1.7 beta and I added an image. There was no way to add a linked image, which is weird. I had to embed the image and then click Replace Image and then replace it and click linked in that dialogue box. Will there be a way to choose a linked or embedded before this goes totally live? Anyway, now I have a linked image so I went to Photo and opened the source image and scribbled on it with the paintbrush. I then saved it and went back to Designer and a pop-up came up saying that the linked file had been updated however the image on screen has not updated. Should be image within designer not update when I update the linked image in photo? Thanks a lot for any help, Phil
