  1. I Use all three Affinity apps on a 2019 15" MacBook Pro. Sometimes I just use the laptop screen, other times I plug into a larger display monitor through HDMI and pull everything out to utilized the larger screen area. If I resize any of the apps to the larger monitor and then unplug and go back to just my laptop the screens remain where they were placed and sized in relation to the external monitor. Super annoying as sometimes the app is completely out of the viewing area on my laptop if I was using it on the right side of the monitor (default placement is upper left corner), or it's been left expanded to the larger monitor you end up seeing just a fraction of the app on the laptop, which then you're stuck fiddling around trying to grab edges just so you shrink it back to fit on the 15" screen area. Restart app or MacBook does not fix or reset. Using layout profiles doesn't make anything any better either. I haven't used Adobe apps for awhile, but if I recall they auto resized if you unplugged from a larger monitor. Would be nice to see if Dev could fix this or is their an easy work around I'm missing? –Cheers
  2. Do you have an SDK or something like OLE for Windows that I can automate processes? I'm a Python and Node JS programmer. An example would be to create a project in Publisher, and change only text and figures, through an external command of some language. That way you could automate processes. An example of this is MS Word, which has OLE WordApplication, where I can send commands, such as creating documents, exporting formats, among others without interacting with MS Word
  3. If the target of this product is for professional use there needs to be not only an automatic timed backup feature but an ability for version or revision creation.
  4. Hi all, I am producing a larger book (on bio-inspired computing) with about 10 main chapters. I know the possibilities to automatically number titles, subtitles. My question: Is it possible to do that over several unconnected text frames? The book is large; if I want to insert a chapter it is easier to have in general let me say 10 connected textframes (for each chapter one connected textframe-structure). I see the point "general" and "name" in the textstyle menue. The problem: If I don't choose "general", I get several text frames all starting with 1 (which means: I have 10 chapters called 1). See PDF1 If I choose "general" only for the main title, I get chapters 1, 2, ... but the subtitles start with a leading "0", because it is another logic behind. (See PDF2) If I choose "general" also for the subtitles, they count correctly, but each subtitle style counts for itself over the document. (See PDF3) What I would like to have is shown in PDF 4. I know two solutions: Generating additional text styles, e. g. in black, blue, red, green... But with 10 chapters you get a lot of text styles. The other solution: Producing 10 single parts of the book, and at the end joining the PDFs together. Is there a more clever solution? Thanks P.S. And please: Program an automatic cross referencing... 5. Hello everyone. I think how i can make something like this in AF Designer? Anyone have idea?
  6. I need the ability to automatically change the image to vectors. Designers use pen tools on top of images with poor resolution, not vectors, below them to make them vectors. I think it needs to be automated. In fact, if you take a program that's automated, it's Vector Magic. Even though it is not very accurate, it is very helpful in images that require a lot of vector conversion work. Obviously, if we include this feature in our efficiency, it will be a simple and automated function.
  7. Hey guys, I really need your help. I don't know if I can tag the support staff from Publisher, or most experienced users. I would like to know if there's a way to make sequencing numbers automatically. I need to make a weekly planner, and put the days numbers in specific places on the facing spread. So it's the same spread, repeated 4 or 5 times (depending on the month), and the numbers go from 1-31 and then restart next on 1 for next month. I made a sketch (attached). So the litle circles are the fixed places on the spread that the numbers should go in to. The week starts on mondays and as an example I put this particular month starting on tuesday, so monday is 31 then the next number is 1. An so goes on. And that's it, I just really need to do this the fastest way possible. I already notice that I can copy-paste excel cells into a publisher table. But then I would have to copy paste on every spread, so it's easier to just type myself. Unless there's a way to make like a table that covers multiple spreads, and I don't think that's possible. Please, any suggestion is valid. I don't know all the possibilities of publisher, so I'm really hoping for your help. Also, if anyone has some sort of model or template that think I can adapt to my purpose, it would be more than welcome! Thanks guys <3
  8. Hi ! Is there a way to display automatic guiding lines when moving a text/image/object to align it with other blocks ? Thanks
  9. Today i want to just share with you a quick video of what i believe and think Serif Team should take in consideration and make available into the Affinity Range. Well the product they will choose that will have this ... is something i can't point out now but with the coming kind of enforced collaboration between all three products i really believe we should be able to make this kind of things with ease and not jump to other software's just to generate it knowing the portability and sometime compatibility is not properly working. Less words, now check in 1min what i'am referring to ! Requested_functions1.mp4
  10. Hello everyone, I realize 360 degree photos and wanted to know if it possible to have automate HDR work without having to make the request for each seen. The panoramic assembly technique is not good for 360. I just want to select all pictures and have each frames in HDR version and after that work an other software . Sorry for my English who is very poor.Hope You have understanding my request. Best regards Franck
  11. I've already posted this in Questions & Feedback but since it doesn't seem to be implemented yet, I'm adding it as a request. For example, I have a square which only has a fill color (no stroke). If I click on another shape, let's say a circle and I'm changing it's stroke color, when I click back on the square, I would like the color panel to auto-select the fill attribute (since it's the only attribute the square has) instead of keeping the stroke attribute selected (from the previous change). My logic is that I would want to change it's color rather than add a stroke to it. This way would eliminate an unnecessary extra click and speed you up when you'd have to repeat the action several times.
  12. Is there an option for the color panel to auto-select the color of the stroke or fill, depending of which one is used so that I can change it with just one click (instead of clicking on the selection I need first)? This would be the case where a shape has only one of these two attributes. This way would eliminate an unnecessary extra click. Does anyone have an ideea if this is possible? In Adobe's software obviously it's not, but I'm keeping higher hopes for Affinity.
  13. Hello everyone! Does anybody know when exactly continous export (which can be accessed in the Export Persona) writes data? Does it save each time I change the document (and an entry gets created in the History)? Does it overwrite each time the application loses focus? As I am using an SSD, I don't really want to overwrite a file each time I am doing some small changes, resulting in hundreds or thousands of writing processes in a short period of time. If it depends on the OS: I'm using a Mac running OSX 11.6. Best wishes and thanks for any help! Shu
  14. I've been watching lots of tutorials and playing around with Designer to get used to it. When I got to the video on Symbols in Designer 1.5, this concept leapt to mind, and so I made it. It makes use of Symbols, Artboards and the power of the Export Persona to simplify outputting all the required sizes for an iOS application icon. And of course designing the artwork in the first place is easy and fun with all the Designer tools at your disposal. This blog post explains how to use it and contains the download link.
  15. Hi all, I just started playing with affinity photo's raw conversion feature. Most other raw conversion tools come with some sort of auto-adjust that usually provides a good starting point. A screencap of my Capture One window is attached. Clicking on the "A" towards the top right of each section does the auto-adjust for each setting. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't find any auto-adjust in AP, for example, to auto-adjust exposure, colour balance, and so on. Do we have this feature in AP yet?
  16. I cannot imagine that this hasn't been discussed before, but a simple search of this forum didn't reveal a similar topic, hence my feature request post today. When I display the Adjustment tab and then click once on anything (Recolor, B&W, Posterise, etc.), that adjustment appears automatically in the Layers tab. But most of the time, I just want to click once and take a look at what the default 3 choices are. Maybe I don't even want to see that adjustment at all. So the way things are now, I have all these adjustment layers stacking up even though I didn't want to apply any of them. Some people may like the existing functionality, so perhaps adding a Preference would be best. Allow me to DISABLE the automatic application of the adjustments when I merely click on their name in the Adjustments tab 1 time. Create the adjustment layer only when I then click on one of the 3 options (e.g., Default or Cold or Warm, for "Black & White") or when I move one of the sliders in that particular adjustment's dialog. All said, I really don't like it when I just click once on an adjustment and then it becomes a new layer. Thanks.
  17. I have a few copies of a shape I drew, Is it possible to edit my original shape (or any of its copies) and make all other copies update with that change?
  18. Any chance of a quick tweak to make the active layer more obvious. When scrolling through 100s of layers - the active layer is easily missed. When an object is clicked - automatically scroll to that layer? Is that possible?
